Chapter 315: Chapter 315 Who Wants to Disgust to Death

Xie Guiqin picked up the awl and pressed it into the shoe sole, thinking that it would be unacceptable not to visit just once. She decided in her mind that it would be better to make the visit to save Xiang Dong the trouble of complaining when he returned.

She sighed, then continued to work on the shoe sole, saying casually, "The third one, I don’t know where he’s run off to again."

On the train, the auntie next to Luo Qiao was packing up her things, preparing to get off at the upcoming stop. Seeing Luo Qiao, a young girl traveling alone, the auntie warmly advised, "Be vigilant on the train and stay safe."

After thanking her with a smile, Luo Qiao helped the auntie take down her luggage from the rack and watched her disembark. It was a small station, but there were quite a few passengers waiting to board.

It wasn’t long before new passengers boarded, among them a woman with several children. The leading girl saw the empty seat next to Luo Qiao and called out, "Mom, come here, there’s a seat."

The woman, with a basket on her back and a child tied to her chest, and another younger girl following, had children with clothes so dirty they were unbearable to look at. Luo Qiao thought to herself how they could go out without cleaning up the children.

The woman put down her basket in the aisle and sat down. She then glanced at Luo Qiao sitting inside and pointed to the space between them, telling the older girl, "Come sit here."

Luo Qiao, thinking that traveling wasn’t easy for anyone, shifted inside to make more room, allowing the young girl to sit comfortably. But as soon as the girl sat down, Luo Qiao’s face changed, and her first impulse was to stand up immediately.

Because, as she turned her head, she saw lice crawling on the young girl’s head, teeming and highly active, scuttling through her hair.

Luo Qiao packed up her belongings and then stood up, saying, "I’m going to step out for a moment. You can sit here."

The woman didn’t expect Luo Qiao to give up her seat and didn’t say thank you. Instead, she pulled the little girl next to her further in, telling another one, "Move in, let your sister sit down."

However, Luo Qiao had already walked farther forward and found another seat to sit down. Everyone thought Luo Qiao was just being helpful.

But as the train left the station, the slightly younger girl couldn’t sit still and stood up, walking around nearby. The old-style train was often unstable, and with a jolt, the girl lost her balance and fell onto a nearby passenger.

The child’s clothes were already filthy, and when the passenger caught her and clearly saw the lice on her head, they cried out in alarm.

They immediately pushed the young girl away, and she was propelled into the arms of a passenger opposite. Before that passenger could react, they heard the woman who had screamed, pointing at the little girl’s head and shrieking, "Lice, lice!"

Only then did the surrounding people turn their attention to the young girl’s head. Goodness gracious, those lice weren’t just a few; while it couldn’t be described as swarming, the quantity was certainly considerable.

The passengers immediately pushed the child away and stood up, some even shaking out their clothes in case any lice had fallen onto them, making others nearby stand up to avoid the same fate.

Everyone avoided the young girl as if avoiding a plague. The woman who had screamed earlier said to the girl’s mother, "You’re too lazy. The lice on your child’s head have become a disaster, yet you do nothing. You don’t even clean her up before going out. Are you trying to disgust everyone to death?"

The woman holding the child retorted, "Only you city folks would make a big fuss about it. Which child in the village doesn’t have lice on their head?"

The angered woman didn’t know what else to say, she just gave the mother a fierce look, patted herself down, took her belongings, and left.

Someone murmured nearby, "No wonder that girl gave up her seat so willingly just now. She must have seen the lice on that little girl’s head and didn’t dare to sit anymore; she left because it was embarrassing to say it outright."

The ridiculed little girl, scared, hid next to her sister and didn’t dare to walk around anymore. Everyone saw that the mother was shameless and didn’t want to deal with her anymore.
