When Luo Qiao returned, she saw a flashlight moving along the path below the slope. She had an idea, and instead of heading towards her home, she approached the light.

Picking up several stones from the ground, she hid and waited until the person came closer. She then hurled the stones. The path was narrow and steep, which caused Li Xiulan’s screams to echo through half the village.

Seeing that Li Xiulan had taken a bad fall, Luo Qiao quietly left, secured the courtyard gate, and went home to sleep peacefully.

The next morning, Luo Qiao was awoken by a commotion outside. She stepped out of her room to hear someone knocking at the courtyard gate.
