Lu Yichen and Luo Qiao had been getting along for some time, and he naturally knew what kind of temperament she had. It seemed that Ding Xiangdong not only failed to help but also angered her. He hoped that Luo Qiao wouldn’t harbor any ill feelings towards him because of Ding Xiangdong.

Seeing that Luo Qiao didn’t want to talk, he didn’t feel it was right to question her further. However, he crossed Ding Xiangdong off his list mentally.

When they got back to the village, Luo Qiao made a trip to the team leader’s home first, to let them know that the goods had been delivered to the factory, and that Big Brother Gao was doing well. He would come back to the village after three months when he had a holiday.

Not far from the team leader’s home, she ran into Secretary’s daughter, Zhang Qiaoyan. Luo Qiao remembered this girl, as they had met once before on the road.

Seeing her with Zhang Degang’s youngest son, Zhang Donglin, Luo Qiao greeted them. Zhang Donglin was really quite likable.

What Luo Qiao didn’t know was that ever since Zhang Qiaoyan had heard about Luo Qiao’s top score in the city for this year’s middle school exams, she felt an inexplicable hostility towards her.

Seeing that it was getting late, she decided not to venture too far from home. She quickly picked the mushrooms, put them in her basket, and then scooped up the remaining little mushrooms with the soil to store them in her space, at the foot of the mountain.

From her space, she found a fat rabbit, knocked it out, and took it home. As she entered, she saw that Stone had already washed the vegetables, and Lu Yichen was getting ready to chop them.

Luo Qiao entered the yard and handed the rabbit to Lu Yichen. Stone’s eyes lit up when he saw the rabbit and said, "Sister, where did you catch the rabbit?"

Lu Yichen saw that the rabbit wasn’t dead, just unconscious, and looked at Luo Qiao.

Luo Qiao said, "I encountered it while picking mushrooms on the mountain, knocked it out, and brought it back."

Lu Yichen thought to himself that her luck was too good; even when he set traps on the mountain, he wasn’t guaranteed to catch anything every time. He’d occasionally get a rabbit or a wild chicken from the traps he dug.

Seeing him standing there, still dazed, Luo Qiao said, "Big Brother Lu, what are you dawdling for? Get to it, or we’ll be having supper under the stars."

Lu Yichen said, "You start cutting the vegetables, and the rabbit will be ready in no time."
