Luo Qiao noticed Stone’s abnormality and said softly, "Stone, dry your tears. Today’s tears are a farewell to the past. From now on, you should always be happy."

She placed Stone’s meal on a stool slightly lower than the edge of the kang bed to make it easier for him to reach without getting too tired, "Stone, we won’t run short of food for you, you should always eat till you’re full, understand?"

Stone nodded and made a silent vow in his heart to repay Sister Luo Qiao and Brother Lu in the future.

After the meal, Lu Yichen gave Stone some instructions and then prepared a thermos of warm water for him. That bamboo tube became Stone’s cup.

Lu Yichen was off work today and wanted to get Stone’s matters sorted out. First, he needed to retrieve the divorce agreement from Stone’s mother, and second, get a guardian certificate for Stone from the village to update at the police station.

Stone’s parents’ old house was now occupied by the Sun Family, and Luo Qiao had already told Stone not to worry about his clothes and bedding, to just leave them for the Sun Family.

Luo Qiao had stayed up the previous night to make two sets of clothes for Stone to change into, and left the shoes for later due to the lack of ready-made soles, planning to flatten and dry some old clothes when she had time.

Threading shoe soles was not something she could do, and she intended to check the market for any available soles; plastic soles were not yet for sale in the market, and available ones were often made from tires.

Anyway, making shoes was not her forte. She understood the theory but had no practical experience. The original owner had never done this on the farm either, just wearing the hand-me-downs from the Luo Family sisters.

In her previous life, she had even less exposure, so she still needed to learn from someone else.

Yuan Weicheng helped Luo Qiao collect the dishes back to his courtyard, then asked, "Are you really not considering coming back to Capital City with me?"

Luo Qiao replied, "I’m doing well right now. I’m going to start high school soon and will work hard to get into a university in Beijing. I can take care of myself."

While they were speaking, she had already washed the dishes. After delivering food to Stone yesterday, she had bought some plates and spoons, finally putting away her antique ones back into her space.

In the backyard, she picked a basket full of sweet melons for Yuan Weicheng, all ripe to eight or nine out of ten—just right to eat upon his return to Capital City. She also picked some tomatoes and cucumbers for him to eat on the road.

Luo Qiao knew he had booked an afternoon train, so she didn’t pick any vegetables, just these melons which she believed were definitely tastier than those on the market. As for whether they were better for health, that was yet to be seen.

She guessed that even if there were benefits, they would be minor, but Luo Qiao was quite confident about the taste.

As Luo Qiao and Yuan Weicheng reached the riverbank, someone approached and asked, "Are you leaving?"

Yuan Weicheng took out a bag of White Rabbit Creamy Candies from the car and distributed them to the villagers who had gathered around, "Please take good care of Luo Qiao from now on."
