Chapter 1212: Chapter 1212: Triplets’ First Birthday
After lunch at home, the phone started ringing with relatives from China sending their blessings; it seemed they had been waiting to call.
When Lu Yichen called: "Qiao Bao, happy first birthday to the three little ones. You’ve had a tough year, thank you, my wife."
Luo Qiao, listening to the voice on the phone: "Brother Chen, I miss you."
Lu Yichen was silent for a long time: "I’m sorry I can’t be by your side."
He had actually applied to go abroad, but there were assignments here and it wasn’t approved, so he hadn’t mentioned it to Luo Qiao.
Luo Qiao said softly: "During the Spring Festival, if I’m not too busy, I’ll come back to China for a few days."
Upon hearing this, Lu Yichen’s lips curled into a smile: "Good, I’ll wait for your good news."
After hanging up the phone, Luo Qiao got busy in the kitchen. She wanted to make a birthday cake for the three little ones by hand.
Rong Daniang and the two helpers started preparing dinner early, as Luo Qiao had invited Auntie Mary’s family and Hannah’s family to come over in the evening to celebrate the sons’ birthday together.
The dinner was very sumptuous. Luo Qiao made a birthday cake today, baked lots of cookies, and made plenty of fresh juices.
Before dinner, Auntie Mary came over with her family, bringing lots of seafood, and soon after, Hannah’s family came too, with Daniel carrying lots of fruit.
The living room became lively, Auntie Mary said with a smile: "I’m very happy to be neighbors with you, allowing us to taste authentic Chinese food and understand Chinese culture without leaving the country. I’m truly thankful, and happy first birthday to the triplets."
Hannah also added with a smile: "Yes, my colleagues are very envious that I have Chinese neighbors. Happy birthday to the three brothers."
Everyone raised their glasses to wish the triplet brothers a happy first birthday.
Then music played in the living room, and everyone started dancing to the waltz, having a lot of fun that night.
After the neighbors helped clean up and left, everyone washed up and rested.
Today, Yanyan and Yueyue returned from kindergarten, bringing back certificates and prizes, the two little ones were especially excited, and even took out the Outstanding Parent Trophy given to Luo Qiao from their school bags.
The smiles on the faces of the two little ones hadn’t faded since they entered the door, you could imagine how happy they were, dancing and talking about what happened at kindergarten today.
This was originally thought to be just an interlude, but unexpectedly, half a month later, someone came to express their gratitude.
As Luo Qiao was about to leave the house, she heard a conversation at the front door and then asked: "He Qing, who is here?"
"Sister-in-law, they said they came to say thanks."
"Thanks? Could there be a mistake?"
The visitor quickly explained his purpose, it turned out to be the family of the child who was rescued at the parent-child event last time: "Please come in."
After introductions, they learned that the child, Kevin, had developed a fever a few days after coming home, and lacked energy even after the fever subsided. It had only been a few days since he fully recovered.
Luo Qiao thought, considering it wasn’t very cold that day and the time in the water wasn’t long, and a parent had even taken off clothes to warm him up after getting ashore, it seemed strange that he would get a fever.
The visitor, perhaps noticing Luo Qiao’s doubt, explained: "Kevin and his mother were both premature births, and have been carefully nurtured. We didn’t initially want him to join this parent-child event, but we also feared he’d feel left out.
And he has been well-nurtured for over a year, but no one expected an issue right at the end.
After exchanging some polite words and when the visitors were about to leave, Luo Qiao stopped them and went upstairs to fetch a bottle of Nourishing Pill she had prepared herself.
She explained that she was a doctor and these were pills she made to repair and nourish the body, intended for the little boy Kevin as a gesture of goodwill.
After the visitors left, Luo Qiao looked at the items on the floor and said to He Qing: "I’m leaving first, please take care of these items."
The reason she gave the Nourishing Pill was because her initial act of rescue was out of pure intent, and now with these gifts brought to her, she responded with a bottle of Nourishing Pill as a reciprocal gift, as she believed that her pills would greatly benefit the child.
Of course, the precondition is that the family needs to trust it, and the child must take it to see the effect.
As Luo Qiao left the main door, she hadn’t reached the street when snowflakes began to drift down from the sky.
