Chapter 1064: Chapter 1064: You’re Awesome, I Really Admire You
Luo Qiao had never met his biological mother, Sun Mei, but his dad, Ning Ziping, was only about 175 cm tall. Stone, on the other hand, was sure to grow even taller. Remembering his first meeting with Stone and seeing him now, he genuinely felt a sense of pride and accomplishment.
Stone was doing very well in his studies, consistently ranking in the top three of his age group and first in his class. He truly made them proud.
Taifeng was no slouch either. With Stone leading by example, he too ranked high in his class. The family never worried about their studies. Both kids spent their school breaks training in the military camp and performed exceptionally well, which was very reassuring to her.
Qianru ran out from the yard, "The shrimp and egg soup has been ready for ages—finally you’re back."
Luo Qiao watched Qianru with a smile, "Auntie, is there a portion for me?"
Qianru burst into laughter, "You’re out of favor now. My new favorites are Yanyan and Yueyue. Stone and Taifeng have to step aside, let alone you."
Then everyone burst out laughing. Their laughter startled Old Master Gu in the study, "Are Yanyan and Yueyue back?"
Qianru replied from the door, "Dad, Yanyan and Yueyue are back."
Yanyan was the first to break free from Qianru’s grip and ran inside, "Great-grandpa, we’re back, aren’t you happy?"
Old Master Gu smiled as he watched his great-granddaughter run up to him, "I am delighted, my dear! I’ve been waiting for you."
Yueyue, led by Qianru, cautioned her sister, "Slow down, sis, don’t bump into Great-grandpa."
Luo Qiao watched the whirlwind that was the little beauty Gu Xiyan halt a meter away from Great-grandpa, finally at ease; she had been about to shout herself.
Old Master Gu smiled and stretched out his hand, "Why has my Yanyan stopped?"
Yanyan glanced back at her sister, "If my sister hadn’t reminded me, I could have run straight into you, Great-grandpa. I was really scared I might knock you over."
Then she patted her little chest.
Luo Qiao, carrying things inside, saw her daughter’s gesture, "Yanyan, can we not act like a wild little girl anymore? Let’s be a little lady."
Yanyan turned around, serious, and said to Luo Qiao, "Mom, it’s all your fault for giving me a wild spirit. I can’t help it."
This set off a roar of laughter in the courtyard.
Lu Yixuan’s family of four and Xiangrui, who had come to pick up his sister-in-law, also laughed out loud.
Only Luo Qiao stood there somewhat innocently, watching everyone laugh uncontrollably, and gave Gu Xiyan a thumbs up, "You’re something else, truly."
The cunning little Gu Xiyan hurried back, "Mom, I think my spirit is pretty good. I like it. Maybe I won’t change it?"
After enough laughter, Xiangrui moved forward, lifted Yanyan, and intervened, "I absolutely adore our Yanyan’s spirit. It’s genuine. We’re not changing it, right? It’s straightforward and kind-hearted, sincere and even righteous.
Didn’t you tell your Uncle this morning that you defended justice in kindergarten and stood up for your friends?"
Gu Xiyan laughed and nodded as Xiangrui continued, "We just need to be a little less impulsive. Keep it up, and our Yanyan will surely excel."
Hearing this, Yanyan beamed, "Okay, I’ll listen to Uncle."
Seeing Yanyan happy, Xiangrui picked up Yueyue, who wasn’t far from him, "Our Yueyue is calm and wise, a sensible child, not only self-disciplined but also a reminder to her sister. She’s really good, and she’ll be outstanding in the future too."
Luo Qiao turned to Lu Ran and Lu Hao, "Ran Ran, Hao Hao, did you miss your aunt?"
The two, a bit shy from the direct question, still smiled and responded, "We did."
Lu Hao touched his nose, "Aunt, thanks for the delicious food you brought us."
Luo Qiao laughed, "Glad you liked it. I’ll make some more and bring it to you next time."
Wang Xiaoxin, overhearing this, looked at her son disapprovingly, "You really have no shame."
Lu Hao turned and made a face at his mom, "Being polite with auntie means missing out on good food. I’ll repay her when I grow up and earn money."
Having said that, he ran off!
