Chapter 93: 093 The one who really should be driven out of the Xia Family is...
Xia Ye stopped in her tracks, turned back, and glanced at Zhou Yao. She touched the tip of her nose with the pad of her finger, as if contemplating something.
Meanwhile, Xia Yourong displayed an indifferent attitude as she opened the door to the principal’s office, saying, "It’s utterly baffling, I have no idea what you keep talking about. I’ve never played with you in any kindergarten. I hope you confess soon and save the police uncles the trouble."
Zhou Yao’s expression froze; she hadn’t expected Xia Yourong to say that.
Whenever she brought up their childhood, Xia Yourong had always been vague and evasive, never flat-out denying it like this.
Zhou Yao had always thought that Xia Yourong simply couldn’t recall their childhood events clearly.
Xia Yourong herself was taken aback when she opened the door to find a crowd of students who had gathered at some point, seemingly to watch the excitement.
"Xiaorong, how did it go? Did Zhou Yao confess?"
"We all know you’ve been falsely accused! How could you possibly harm your own sister?"
Xia Yourong’s lips quivered as she forced a smile, "Unfortunately, she has not confessed."
She walked along the corridor towards the exit. Just as she reached the stairs, a voice stopped her.
"Xiaorong."
Xia Yourong turned to see Tian Ye standing nearby, his face still adorned with his usual gentle smile.
She felt a touch of emotion; Jiang Yunzhou had said nothing about coming to see her, yet it was Tian Ye who cared about her.
A smile had just begun to bloom on her lips when she heard Tian Ye ask, "That day in the classroom, did you take Zhou Yao’s phone?"
The smile on Xia Yourong’s face froze instantly. Within seconds, tears began to swirl in her eyes, "Tian Ye, what do you mean by that?"
Her tearful, woebegone expression startled Tian Ye, "Sorry, I was just asking."
Xia Yourong did not reply to him; she turned and walked away.
Inside, she was quietly pondering something...
Tian Hanwen watched as one by one, the teachers and students left, feeling a headache wash over him as he closed his eyes.
He thought back to the photograph that had been displayed on the white screen, feeling an inexplicable sense of familiarity.
It could have been because the photo was projected so large, or perhaps because the pixels of Xia Ye in the photo were quite blurred.
He always felt that Xia Ye looked really similar to someone...

Xia Ye had dinner outside before returning home. By the time she got back, Xia Yourong had already told the family about what had happened at school.
Of course, she had placed all the blame on Zhou Yao.
Seeing Xia Ye enter, Xu He was unspeakably anxious, immediately pulling her hand and sitting her down on the sofa, "Little Tiangao, are you okay?"
Xia Yuzheng, on the other hand, had directly called Xia Xing into the study, and it was heard that he had been scolding him for over half an hour now.
If it weren’t for the disreputable girlfriend Xia Xing had chosen, Xia Ye wouldn’t have been photographed in such a compromising way.
"If you dare see that woman again, I’ll break your legs!"
Sitting in the living room, Xia Ye could hear Xia Yuzheng’s very authoritative voice.
"Exactly," Xu He huffed, "Little Tiangao, from now on, don’t bother with your second brother’s troubles, and certainly don’t upset yourself over him. That damn kid doesn’t deserve it, it serves him right to be dumped by his girlfriend!"
Xia Ye smiled at Xu He, "Stop scolding him, I’m fine."
Xu He touched her little face, heart aching, "And Mr. Jiang too, acting like a child when he’s the adult here, indulging your nonsense."
Xia Ye just smiled.
She hadn’t mentioned that his previous antics were even more outrageous; she was startled when he embraced her waist.
Qiao Yufen was comforting Xia Yourong the whole time, "Your deskmate is really too scheming! My poor Xiaorong, to think you had to share a desk with that kind of person for so long!"
Xia Yourong threw herself into Qiao Yufen’s arms, sobbing softly.
During dinner, the atmosphere was quite serious as everyone sat around the table.
Xia Xing’s chopsticks plunged into his bowl, "Little Tiangao, how is your principal planning to deal with that person?"
Not only did the little sister have to endure being the subject of public gossip, but he also got a scolding from their dad.
Xia Ye was elegantly dealing with a chicken, "If they don’t turn themselves in by next Tuesday, the principal will call the police."
Xia Xing, "That’s still reasonable."
Qiao Yufen snorted, "And if Zhou Yao doesn’t confess by Tuesday, the police will come. Will they interrogate my Xiaorong too?"
Xia Yourong pinched her chopsticks, pretending to be concerned, "Yes, Grandma..."
Qiao Yufen with a strong aura, "That won’t do. Why should my innocent granddaughter be questioned by the police because of someone else’s lies? Xiaorong, don’t worry. With Grandma here, I’ll make sure Zhou Yao is out of Capital City by next week!"
"Really?" Xia Yourong was ecstatic.
As soon as Xu He heard Qiao Yufen say this, she was somewhat worried, "Xiaorong, is it really Zhou Yao who did this to Little Tiangao?"
Xia Yourong looked at her in astonishment. Xu He quickly realized her mistake and explained, "Ah, that’s not what I meant. I’m sure it wasn’t you who did it..."
Xia Yuzheng glanced at Xu He, "Speaking so carelessly, without considering the child’s feelings."
Xu He ignored him and continued, "What I mean is, could Zhou Yao also have been wrongly accused?"
Xia Yourong’s words twisted before escaping her lips; she definitely couldn’t sound too certain, "She probably did it, but I’m not very clear about it now..."
Xu He looked at Qiao Yufen, "Right, Mom, let’s not be hasty. Maybe it’s not Zhou Yao who did it."
Xia Ye chewed on the crispy chicken skin, "My mom’s right. When the police arrive, the truth will come out."
Qiao Yufen disagreed with her, "Xiaorong said the school didn’t even turn on the surveillance cameras. What can the police possibly find out?"
"Even without surveillance cameras, if a bad deed has been done, there will always be some trace left behind," Xia Ye’s voice was unhurried and he looked meaningfully at Xia Yourong, "Grandma, you’re in such a hurry, could it be because... you’re afraid that the police investigation will reveal that it was my sister who did it?"
Xia Yourong nearly choked.
Qiao Yufen slammed the table, "What are you talking about? It’s impossible for your sister to have done this!"
Xia Ye, resting his chin on one hand, "Oh? How do you know that?"
Qiao Yufen, "I can guarantee with my whole being, it’s absolutely not your sister! But as for you, if you behaved more appropriately, would somebody have taken those kinds of photos of you?"
Xu He, "Mom, how can you blame Little Tiangao for this?"
Xia Ye was completely unconcerned with Qiao Yufen’s attitude; instead, he smiled again, "So, what if it turns out my sister did it, what then?"
"What then?" Qiao Yufen laughed coldly, no longer wanting to argue with Xia Ye, "If it’s Xiaorong, I’ll take her back to the old house to live, away from your bothersome eyes! That should be fine, right?"
Upon hearing this, Xia Yourong subconsciously wanted to refuse. Qiao Yufen pressed her down, "It’s not you who did it, what are you afraid of?"
Xia Yourong was stricken with guilt; her hands holding the chopsticks were already sweating.
Xia Ye was right: even without surveillance, it was possible that the police could find some clue.
By next Tuesday noon, she had to find a way to get Zhou Yao to go to the principal and confess voluntarily!
Xia Ye glanced at Xia Yourong’s expression, tugged at his lip and seemed quite satisfied with Qiao Yufen’s answer, "Alright then, it’s a deal."
