Chapter 623: Once Sister 347 hooks her lips, things get complicated..._2

The only similarity was the audience’s enthusiasm.

Jiang Xuan sat in the second-floor stands, with Dong Mao waiting by his side. The seats here were not for sale.

He usually watched that little ancestor’s competitions through live broadcasts, but today he had specially taken a break from work to watch the event in person.

His gaze swept over the first-floor audience area, next to a group of girls holding support banners, where he saw a tall figure...

The show formally began, and the host first introduced the sponsors of the three universities.

On the guest seats, on the left special chair was Beijing University’s sponsor, Shen Zhixi; on the right was the sponsor from East China University of Science and Technology, Jiang Feng; sandwiched between them was a real estate tycoon sponsoring University A, looking plump and prosperous.

The real estate tycoon took the initiative to greet Shen Zhixi and Jiang Feng with a humble attitude, being the ’smallest’ tycoon among the three in terms of assets.

However humble he was, when it came time to send messages of support to his sponsored team, there was still a hint of competition in his words.

Everyone wanted the team they represented to win.

Jiang Feng’s message was fairly formal at first, prepared in advance by his secretary, but upon seeing Xia Ye standing with the team from Beijing University, he couldn’t resist adding on the spot, "Miss Xia from Beijing University has a deep connection with our Jiang Family; may our friendship come first, and the competition second."

His words were meant to be a dig at Xia Ye, but to others, especially the live audience fans of the Xia-Jiang pairing, it was like receiving sugar from her betrothed family!

It successfully caused a burst of screams from the audience, making students from other teams envious.

The host struggled to control the scene, but her slightly upturned corners of her mouth betrayed the fact that she was also a fan of Xia-Jiang.

The only one who didn’t want to hear this remark was Shen Zhixi.

"Mr. Jiang, you’re being a bit petty with your words, aren’t all three teams here today to put friendship first and competition second?"

Jiang Feng curved his lips and didn’t take issue, "Mr. Shen is right," he replied.

The introduction of the three teams ensued; typically, it should have taken the same amount of time for each, but the East China University of Science and Technology got an extra ten minutes because they had invited an overseas computer engineer named Simon.

The finals were recorded over two days, with today determining the third-place and tomorrow for the battle between first and second place.

The competition today was divided into three segments.

Segment one: Each team introduced their robots and professional judges scored their appearance and principles.

Segment two: The robots performed commands required by the judges to test their performance; the performance scores, combined with the previous scores on appearance and principles, determined that the first-placed team would go directly into tomorrow’s championship battle, while the remaining two teams would face off in a third match to decide the advancement slot.

East China University of Science and Technology’s robot was named Paul, modeled after a AI butler; the name Paul was taken from one of the most famous royal butlers in Country Y, Paul Burrell.

University A’s robot was the only one with a female appearance among the three teams. Although it had a female form, it was a veritable powerhouse Barbie, specifically used for dangerous welding on construction sites and heavy physical labor, named Eva.

This principle was no wonder why they had attracted a real estate magnate as a sponsor.

Last to be introduced was Beijing University’s Silver Fox, similar to Paul, focused on serving the disabled in their daily activities.

Paul’s appearance was coated with synthetic skin, looking just like a real human, capable of expressions like crying, laughing, and frowning; Silver Fox did not spend much effort on appearance, its head was a high-definition screen that could display expressions, and its torso and hands openly displayed the sophisticated gears and components.

These three robots were just making their appearances, yet the admiration from the audience was continuous.

It had to be said, just by appearances, the standard of this competition was much higher than previous ones.

The sponsors were also generous with their money; each component, if taken independently, was the high-tech product that every university’s AI club dreamed of.

The judges went on stage to scrutinize, and after brief discussions, went offstage to assign scores on monitors.

Next was segment two, after routine command testing, the three robots were brought to the center stage, in front of them were three tables, each with two transparent crystal bowls.

In the bowl on the left were uncooked Lutein eggs, while the one on the right was empty.

They had one minute to use chopsticks to transfer the Lutein eggs from the bowl on the left into the one on the right, one by one; the robot that managed to move the most undamaged eggs to the empty bowl in one piece would win.
