Chapter 330: 249 There is a Night Sister, becoming an immortal is not a dream!_3
Xia Ye glanced at the floor number, pocketed her phone, and strode off crisply, "I’m heading down first, bye."
Yang Qiange just happened to be standing at the very back of the elevator, with Lu Beibei and Qi Ran blocking her way. Xia Ye dropped a word and exited the elevator, and before Yang Qiange could find an excuse to follow, the elevator doors closed again and continued to the third floor.
Yang Qiange came today specifically to see which club Xia Ye would join. Seeing this, she quickly suggested, "Hurry up with the registration. Once it’s done, we can go to the second floor and find Yeye."
Lu Beibei sensed her unusual enthusiasm today, but didn’t overthink it: "Oh, okay."
Then, the trio first visited the Artificial Intelligence Club, followed by the Poetry Club, and the entire process took just over half an hour to complete.
Which club wouldn’t like academic achievers?
Just with the grades of Lu Beibei and Qi Ran alone, filling out the application forms almost seemed to make the papers glow with golden light.
Not to mention that Lu Beibei was currently the first female member of the Artificial Intelligence Club, and Qi Ran had earnestly penned a short poem last night.
So their interviews were extremely brief, even perfunctory.
They were quickly accepted into the clubs.
Upon reaching the second floor, they scanned the area. It had the same layout as the third floor, with four society offices lined up side by side.
However, all the doors were now shut tight, and it was unclear which one Xia Ye had entered.
Yang Qiange looked around and her gaze fell on the Debate Club at the far end of the corridor.
To be honest, the second floor didn’t have any high-quality clubs, except for the Debate Club, which ranked among the top few in Beijing University.
Beijing University had won several championships in intercollegiate debate competitions, which also boosted the Debate Club’s popularity. It was said that in recent years, the quality of its members had been high, including some smart academic achievers.
As Yang Qiange was contemplating this, the doors of the Debate Club opened, and two seniors dressed in neat uniforms stepped out, though Xia Ye was not seen following behind them.
As it turned out, these two seniors were also discussing Xia Ye.
"When I came up, I really saw that pretty freshman from the first year, who seemed to come with her dorm mates. I was praying she would come and sign up with our club, but after a long wait, she didn’t show up. It’s so disappointing," said one senior.
"I wonder which club the little freshman is interested in? I heard she’s a top student; she must have signed up for some academic-focused club," speculated the other.
"Ah, our Debate Club really needs top students too, but alas, it seems we’re not top-notch enough to have such luck," said the senior, pointing with a snicker at the Scientific Cultivation Club next door. "But no matter what, our club is still more reliable than something like the Scientific Cultivation Club. I’m baffled how this society got approved by the school. What year is it, and people still believe in cultivation? And ’scientific’ cultivation, at that?"
The other senior also sneered, "It’s been three years since the club was established, and except for the initial three members, they haven’t recruited any new students in the past few years. I heard one of the old members is graduating next year; by then, there may only be two left, hahaha..."
The students’ exaggerated laughter echoed through the corridor, but just then, the door of the Science Cultivation Club suddenly opened.
The remaining three members crowded anxiously around a new member as they emerged, their expressions tense, as if they were afraid the newcomer would change their mind.
The three club members, plus the new member, almost squeezed out of the narrow door simultaneously.
"We’ve agreed, we already have your application form, and you can’t go to any other clubs now!"
"Cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in my eye! You mustn’t change your mind for a hundred years!"
"As long as you’re willing to stay in our club, from now on, we’ll be your lackeys, ready to do anything for you!"
The two seniors from the Debate Club were taken aback.
Well, well, did they really manage to recruit a new member this year?
Which freshman could possibly be so misguided?
The two looked in the direction of the commotion, and when they saw the face of the new member in the middle, their jaws dropped in disbelief!
It was the Xia junior that they had been so eager to recruit?!
Xia Ye smiled faintly with an air of nonchalance, "Don’t worry, I won’t change my mind."
Stunned along with them was Yang Qiange, who stood by the elevator.
Watching Xia Ye walk out of the Science Cultivation Club, her mouth twitched violently.
If it weren’t for Qi Ran and Lu Beibei standing beside her, she would have burst out laughing at Xia Ye’s absurdity.
What in the world was Xia Ye thinking?
Had she fried her brains after scoring full marks in the exams?
To think Qiange actually felt somewhat concerned, believing that Xia Ye would choose a formidable club, and now... it turned out to be the Scientific Cultivation Club?!
