Chapter 892: Chapter 892: It’s Non-Negotiable

"Alright. Alright," Ferdinand gently settled her to the couch. "I’ll be by the door. Tell me when you’re ready."

When Ferdinand got out, Blanca entered with a wet cloth and a basin of water.

Arabella realized Ferdinand had already summoned one of her maids while she was crying.

"Your Majesty, what happened?! Did you have a fight?!" Blanca asked in concern as she helped her clean up.

[Why would Her Majesty cry to this extent?! What did they fight about?]

"No, it’s not like that. Ferdinand and I were just talking when I recalled something about the past," Arabella clarified.

"Oh, I see..." Blanca sighed in relief and did not pry further.

"More importantly, how’s Alwin?" Arabella diverted the topic.

She hadn’t visited Alwin today yet, so she did not know how he was faring.

Blanca, whom Arabella had exempted from her tasks so the former could personally take care of Alwin, must have been by his side all day until she was summoned.

"He has recovered a bit more mana, but his recovery is still slow, Your Majesty," Blanca reported sadly.

Blanca, who had to sleep for hundreds of years just to recover from the same poison, understood how depleted Alwin’s mana was.

After all, Alwin healed Blanca at an unbelievable pace even for the latter.

"Does he still have a fever?" Arabella recalled Alwin’s fever rising yesterday when he was having a nightmare.

"No, Your Majesty.

His fever is gone.

Lord Alvis said Alwin had unconsciously absorbed some of His Majesty’s mana when he visited again last night.

It helped His Eminence recover from the fever," Blanca reported.

’Ah, he went there last night too. It must be after returning from Sibruh.’

Blanca explained that according to Alvis, Alwin grew up exposed to Ferdinand’s immense mana supply filling his island in Estrella.

Thus, as he was growing up, Alwin unconsciously absorbed some of Ferdinand’s mana like it was normal (ie. like absorbing mana from the air).

Due to this, now that Alwin was in a state where he needed mana, his body absorbed some of Ferdinand’s mana as it usually did, like when Alwin was in Estrella.

"I see. That’s good, then. I hope he wakes up soon."

’Maybe, I should tell Ferdinand to visit Alwin several more times,’ Arabella thought mischievously.

After all, Raymond could not say it was against their agreement since Alwin’s body did it on its own.

"What about Dimo? Did he not join sword practice again?"

Arabella already missed the child after not seeing him for several hours.

Lately, she had gotten used to meeting Dimo every day.

"He is faring better after learning that Alwin will likely not have a fever again. He attended all his lessons today," Blanca informed.

"I see, that’s good then. I’m glad he’s going to his lessons again."

Dimo’s depressed face was still cute, but it did not feel good to see him so sad and worried all the time.

She’s glad Dimo was also feeling better and returning to his lessons.

Blanca healed Arabella’s eyes and helped her retouch.

When Blanca’s task was done, Arabella checked herself in the mirror.

"Oh my! Thank you for helping me," Arabella said, relieved that her eyes were back to normal instead of being red and puffy.

"It’s my pleasure, Your Majesty," Blanca blushed at the praise.

"You may return to Alwin’s side.

I’ll visit him tonight after work," Arabella said, knowing Blanca was still concerned.

Blanca then left her study and teleported back to the Magic Tower..

Arabella glanced one last time at the mirror before she said to Ferdinand, "You may enter now."

Ferdinand smiled upon seeing her, "You are pretty even with red and puffy eyes, but you are indeed more lovely like this."

"Someone’s become so good at flattery," Arabella chuckled.

"I’m just speaking the truth," Ferdinand responded and once again seated himself beside her.

"Then, shall we continue with our discussion?"

Arabella picked up the lists of suggestions, and Ferdinand made a face like he wanted to get out of her office right now.

She listened to his thoughts, and she was right.

[I should have left while I could. But how could I possibly leave her after she cried like that? Why are we going back to that issue again? Maybe I should leave for now?]

Ferdinand wondered if he should run away, but he could not leave Arabella’s side after recalling how she cried.

"Do you really have to go? What if you visit another territory instead? I heard there are still harvest festivals in the south. Why won’t you visit there instead?" Ferdinand suggested a safer location.

"Nope. I’m going to Sibruh and the neighboring territories. It’s non-negotiable," Arabella insisted.

[I see. So, she’s not really asking for my permission. She’s just informing me so I won’t be shocked to see her there.]

’Exactly,’ Arabella smiled at her husband, and he sighed deeply.

"Alright. Alright. You can go," Ferdinand accepted his defeat and settled his forehead on her shoulder.

"Thank you!" Arabella hugged him and kissed his shoulder.

"!!!"

[Did she just kiss my shoulder?!]

"I did," Arabella said nonchalantly, and Ferdinand sat up straight once again.

"I liked it. But don’t you think I deserve more? Kiss me here, instead," Ferdinand tapped his lips.

Arabella smiled and obeyed this time. He even gave him three pecks.

Ferdinand was still not satisfied and kissed her instead.

It felt good, but Arabella was worried they would be distracted and end up doing something else instead.

Thankfully, Ferdinand was careful to pull away before they were enticed to do more.

"I’m allowing you to go, but you must follow all safety rules and procedures. And the instant your life is in danger, I’ll have you sent back here," Ferdinand added.

"Yes, of course. But in danger in my definition, not yours," Arabella added.

After all, Ferdinand was the type to worry that even a needle without poison could kill her.

If they followed his definition of her life in danger, she would be back here in an instant.

"Ugh, fine. But if Rendell and Zion agree that your life’s in danger, you must return here," Ferdinand added.
