"Indeed, Your Majesty. There’s always a next time," even Eunice found the need to speak up and comfort her.

"Y-Yes! Surely it’s not your fault either, Your Majesty!" Carla finally found her words again after utter disbelief.

"I also agree, Your Majesty. I heard men have problems down there from time to time. Accordingly, sometimes it would not function no matter what you do. This must be one of those times. It’s not your fault at all," Irene added.

[But how come nothing happened?! Even if the third leg did not function, His Majesty could have still touched Her Majesty in various ways and left marks. There’s not a sign of a single one. Her Majesty’s lips are not even reddish and a bit swollen, like they usually were on nights they consummate. There was no kissing either?!]

[Sir Rendell said His Majesty left in a hurry a few hours ago. It must be why nothing happened. But did they really not have the time to consummate last night? Or did they fight?]

[They had a date, so things should have progressed. Why did nothing happen? Right when all sorts of rumors are popping up, too. We must keep this a secret from everyone else. It would be terrible if a rumor about this goes out.]

[They hadn’t seen each other for a while, and yet, His Majesty left without doing anything at all. Her Majesty must be worried and disappointed.]

Arabella’s maids did their best to comfort her and assure her nothing was her fault, but she heard their thoughts loud and clear.

"I-It’s okay. I’m fine. There’s no need to worry," Arabella tried to reassure them.

However, all of them knew about the rumors circulating, so they all felt bad for her and were still worried about how she must feel. Especially if she had heard about the rumors, which she did.

Thus, Aletha, who was closest to Arabella, came to hug her instead.

"Your Majesty, please do not blame yourself. You are always gorgeous and attractive. No man on this continent doesn’t find you pretty. It’s not your fault," Aletha gently stroked her hair.

Aletha’s actions reminded Arabella of the times she was crying all alone, and it was Aletha who was there to comfort her.

Those were the times when Arabella was still in love with Andrew and was trying to get out of her engagement with Ferdinand.

Aletha was the one who was there as Arabella cried her heart out.

And now, even on times like this, Aletha’s here to comfort her.

Arabella was once again reminded of how much things had changed in this life. She was no longer alone.

She had everyone with her this time, and hopefully, it remains no matter the challenges they face in the future.

"I am truly fine. His Majesty is just exhausted, and he must have urgent work to do, so he left early," Arabella said while in Aletha’s embrace.

Yet, instead of getting her assured, her maids looked even more sorry and sad for her.

[Her Majesty is even crying!

She must feel terrible about this because of all the rumors!

What should we do?!

His Majesty could have at least just left marks so Her Majesty has something to show to everyone that she’s still his beloved wife and not just the Empress, so they will finally shut up.]

’Eh? I’m crying?’

Arabella touched her cheek and realized she was indeed. No wonder her voice sounded weird.

’Why do I easily tear up now? They might misunderstand this!’

"Ah, this is about something else entirely. I just reminisced about something in the past," Arabella clarified as she dried her tears.

[Oh my goodness! Her Majesty is worried about us even at a time like this. We should be the ones worrying and comforting her though.]

"It’s alright to cry, Your Majesty. We will keep this to ourselves."

Arabella’s maids thought she was just trying to be strong since more rumors might only pop up if she teared up because of this. Thus, they tried to assure her instead.

’What should I tell them? It seems no matter what I say, they would interpret it was because Ferdinand did not sleep with me tonight.’

Her pride was indeed hurt a bit, but she understood Ferdinand was a busy man.

Arabella knew best how hard Ferdinand was working, so she knew this must not have been intentional.

’Ah, geez. There’s no other choice, I’ll just assure them I’m not deterred by something like this.’

"Carla, Irene, get more of those skimpy clothes. I’m not done with this. From now on I’ll start wearing one of those every time he’ll stay the night. Tonight is just practice. It doesn’t count," Arabella said in a determined voice.

"Yes, Your Majesty! We will do our best to support you!" Carla and Irene responded.

Eunice and Aletha also smiled and nodded in approval when they saw Arabella was not accepting defeat.

They had tea together as they gave her more words of encouragement and even made plans on what to do here and there to ensure Ferdinand would only ever look at Arabella.

Carla and Irene were quite exaggerated on a lot of things that they ended up laughing quite a lot.

They were just about to head to Arabella’s dressing room when her door opened without a knock.

[Who dares enter Her Majesty’s chambers?!]

[His Majesty had already left. Why is someone opening the door without a knock?!]

[Is it an intruder?!]

[Did Sir Rendell leave his post?!]

Her maids immediately stood in front of her to hide her since she was not dressed properly yet, and whoever the intruder was could harm her.

However, the one who entered was not an intruder.

It was Ferdinand.

Her maids quickly made way for him and bowed.

"Arabella? Why are you already awake?"

Ferdinand looked puzzled at first and was wide-eyed when he noticed her eyes.

"Were you crying?! What happened?!"

"Eh? No, I wasn’t. A lash went to my eye so they helped me remove it. We ended up having tea," Arabella quickly reasoned.

There’s no way she would admit she was crying earlier.

If she did, Ferdinand may also misunderstand.
