Reborn as a Mind-Reading Empress
Chapter 782: Monthlies

Chapter 782: Chapter 782: Monthlies

’Ah, no! Focus. Focus. I need to go to work,’ Arabella internally scolded herself.

She had breakfast in her room and quickly cleaned up after.

Her maids worked fast in helping her bath and dressing her up. They were also able to put on her make up and make it look like they usually do despite the short amount of time they had to do it all.

Thanks to them, she was able to go to the Court Sessions on time.

[She doesn’t have marks left on her neck. They intentionally leave some sometimes and she would cover them with a turtleneck or wear a scarf. Or a necklace when it’s just a little.]

Alwin did not fail to notice. He knew what happened after the meeting last night since he was the one who teleported them to Estrella and back while Arabella was sound asleep.

Arabella blushed and did not dare glance at Alwin in embarrassment.

After all, it was true that sometimes, she and Ferdinand leave kiss marks as is even when Ferdinand could have healed it while they were in Estrella.

Ferdinand usually heals it immediately without leaving a single spot on her skin since he worries about her and feels bad to have left many bruises.

Despite the sense of pride Ferdinand feels from seeing her marked with his kisses and bites, he feels guilty as well and apologizes. Thus, he heals her immediately when he can.

However, Arabella was already used to it since even in her past life, she usually got such marks when they slept together.

And sometimes, she just liked letting those heal naturally since it reminded her of how much their relationship has changed when compared to their past life.

[I thought I was going to get scolded when His Majesty summoned me at dawn. Thankfully, he truly didn’t as she asked him to. He simply told me to keep her safe while he was away, especially when she’s up to things he was not informed about yet.]

’Oh, he truly kept his word,’ Arabella smiled when she heard what Ferdinand did from Alwin’s thoughts.

She recalled that Ferdinand had given her more freedom. She could already think of a ton of things to do now that Ferdinand had agreed she could act more freely.

The Court Sessions went as usual and the hours and days passed by quickly.

The time-limit given to Crux finally ended.

Ferdinand returned to Riva early in the morning to make the declaration of war himself since he still refused for Arabella to have something like that in her name.

He went to her room to pick her up.

"I told you, it’s fine. I can make the declaration," Arabella said after embracing him.

She was happy to see him again but worried about the situation in Sibruh.

"I don’t mind whatever they say about me. It had been so long since my reputation had turned dark. But you, I don’t want to mar your reputation. I don’t want them to say you became a warmonger as well because you married one," Ferdinand replied after kissing her forehead.

He wanted to keep her reputation clean even if she was his wife now. He did not mind being called the Dark Emperor but he did not want her to be known as the Dark Empress.

"I don’t really mind what they call me either," Arabella assured him.

She simply had to maintain a good reputation for the sake of their future.

Declaring an attack herself was not something she would back down on since it was for the sake of Valeris and their people.

"I mind," Ferdinand said darkly. "I don’t want them to call my beloved various names as they please."

Arabella’s heart raced at his words. It was nice to have someone by her side who cared this much. Thus, she smiled instead and said, "Thank you for thinking about me."

Ferdinand hugged her and kissed her head one more time, "I missed you."

"I missed you too," Arabella smiled and wrapped her arms around him too.

[This scent. Blood?!!!]

"Are you hurt anywhere?! How did you get hurt?! What happened while I was away?!!" Ferdinand asked in alarm and held her by the shoulders as he eyed her from head to foot and back.

"Ah, no. I just have my monthlies," Arabella quickly corrected.

Or else, he might summon Alwin and Rendell to question them on why they did not inform him immediately that she got hurt and why they allowed her to get hurt.

"Monthlies?" Ferdinand frowned at first. "What do you mean month— oh, I see... I see. That’s a relief then."

Arabella chuckled at his reaction. She recalled his words in the letter he left on her bedside table and said, "You won’t be able to get more for now so don’t call me stingy, alright?"

"Eh? No, of course not!" Ferdinand was quick in his response.

[I was indeed hoping I would be able to have some intimate time with her while I’m here. But I don’t mind not having any during these times. I heard it’s difficult for them during these times.]

"Are you alright? Does it hurt anywhere? Why are you dressed for the Court Session? You should stay inside and rest," Ferdinand nagged like he was her nanny.

He was so much worse than this on their first month together and her monthlies came.

When they were not doing naughty stuff yet, she had managed to be away from him on her periods since she did not allow him in her room during those times.

Thus, the first month she had it while he was with her was when they were on Medeus.

Ferdinand panicked thinking he hurt her down there from doing it too much (he was just using his fingers back then since they had promised not to go all the way) and did not dare touch her for days even after her period was over.

He refused to believe it was her period and insisted she was just trying to hide her injury until she had to scold him to calm down since he was stressing her out from all the panicking.
