Chapter 759: Chapter 759: You Should Have Informed Me First

"Huh? Who’s crying?" Arabella was startled by the realization that tears were already streaming down her cheeks. "I am?"

"Arabella, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to speak harshly," Ferdinand was instantly beside her, concern etched on his face.

"Oh my goodness. Why am I tearing up? I’m sorry. I’m fine," Arabella hurriedly apologized, quickly rising from her seat. She walked a few steps away to compose herself, wiping away her tears.

’Geez. My emotions have become so fragile since I was reborn. Why am I crying over this already?’ she thought, feeling embarrassed.

Arabella dried her tears as she walked towards a tree, wanting to hide herself for a bit. She felt embarrassed for crying about this already. She did not mean to cry in any of this since she thought she had already prepared herself to be scolded.

Still, it did hurt more than she expected to have Ferdinand speak to her in a loud angry voice and have her words cut off.

Just as she reached the tree, Ferdinand caught up to her and enveloped her in his arms from behind.

"Arabella, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to upset you," Ferdinand murmured, holding her close.

[Why did I raise my voice like that?! I’m so stupid. I already told myself to remain calm yet I lost it immediately.] He internally scolded himself.

"I’m fine. Can you just give me a moment?" Arabella tried to correct him. She just wanted to compose herself before facing him again.

"No, you’re not. I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have spoken that way. I lost my cool because I was worried," Ferdinand said earnestly, loosening his arms slightly before wrapping them tightly around her again when he stood in front of her. "I’m truly sorry."

Arabella gulped, feeling overwhelmed by Ferdinand’s sincere apology, his eyes full of regret.

[I made her cry even more?!!] Ferdinand tensed up.

’Huh?! I just dried them with my hands! Why am I tearing up again?!’ Arabella gulped as her tears blurred her vision. She dried them again but they kept falling.

"I... Can you give me a moment?" Arabella gulped, frustrated at her own tears.

[But it feels so terrible to let her cry by herself. I don’t like seeing her cry all alone in a corner with her shoulders hunched. It hurts so much. Ah, this is all my fault. What should I do?]

"I’m really sorry," Ferdinand said again and held her securely in his arms, refusing to let her go elsewhere.

In his warm comforting embrace, Arabella didn’t know why, but her tears got worse and she buried her face on his chest. She didn’t want him to see her crying face right now.

She held him tight instead as she recalled how even words of apology were so difficult to say between them in their past life— how they had lived misunderstanding things and unknowingly making each other suffer.

But now, Ferdinand was here sincerely apologizing for raising his voice and was even readily comforting her.

"I’m sorry. I won’t do it again," Ferdinand said gently, kissing her forehead and hair repeatedly while rubbing her back.

However, despite his efforts to comfort her, Arabella found herself crying even more and let herself be pampered by his soothing words and actions.

A few moments passed before Arabella finally managed to stop crying. She wondered why she had cried so much in the first place.

[Her eyes are swollen! This is all my fault! Should I summon Alwin to heal her? But what if she doesn’t want them to see her like this? We’re not done talking either. She might still be upset.] Ferdinand fretted nervously, gently touching her face and drying the last of her tears.

’My eyes are swollen? Do I look ugly? Ah, so embarrassing! Why did I cry so hard?!’ Arabella bit her lips in frustration.

They were supposed to be on a dinner date and yet, she cried and ruined her own makeup.

’It seems Fermin got this kind of behavior from me,’ Arabella thought as she recalled their son.

When he was a toddler, Fermin would not cry if he slipped and fell on his knees or butt if Arabella was not there. He would simply continue with his activities like nothing happened.

However, if Arabella was around and saw it, Fermin would cry at almost every little thing that happens and even more so if she gathered him in her arms and comforted him.

Even when Fermin grew older, he still had this behavior. He would be brave in front of his teachers and other people but once he was with her, he would say the things he found difficult to do and complain about them.

It made her happy though that her son could trust her enough to be vulnerable in front of her. She was able to comfort him in those times and was glad she knew what gave him difficulty so she knew how she could help him.

Perhaps, it was also why she cried a lot before she knew it. Having Ferdinand around to comfort her tenderly allowed her to be vulnerable and let her emotions out freely.

"I’m fine now. Thank you," Arabella smiled so her husband would stop walking on eggshells.

"Really? Are you?" Ferdinand asked nervously.

"Yes. Thank you for comforting me and waiting for me to calm down," Arabella hugged him tenderly.

Ferdinand finally sighed in relief and said, "I’m so sorry I raised my voice and cut you off. I won’t do it again."

"Yes, please don’t do it again. It hurts more than I thought it would," Arabella admitted and Ferdinand flinched.

"I’m truly sorry," he kissed her forehead again. Until he realized something from her words and tilted his head, "You knew I would get angry?"

"Yes. I knew you might get angry and scold me since you worry about me a lot," Arabella smiled bravely since she was done being emotional and was not scared any more after she already got scolded.

"Then, why did you still hide it from me? You should have informed me about it first," Ferdinand chided gently this time.
