Arabella smiled at the look on Alwin’s face upon hearing what Ferdinand said.

Arabella had agreed to live with me on that island once our time in Valeria is over.

Ferdinand wanted Alwin to accept her.

"Yes, Your Majesty," Alwin bowed his head.

It made Ferdinand frown since Alwin didn’t look him in the eye once.

"Did I fail to give you something you wanted lately?"

Ferdinand wondered if he had neglected Alwin because he was too focused on Arabella.

He seemed to be the type to give everything and unknowingly spoil a child.

[Or he hadn’t been able to have as much time in his lab, so he’s frustrated?

Maybe, he couldn’t do an experiment he had been wanting to do?]

"N-no, Your Majesty.

My apologies for being childish."

Alwin’s face was red with embarrassment, and he still didn’t dare meet Ferdinand’s eyes.

Ferdinand touched Alwin’s forehead and frowned.

He must be so exhausted if he even gets sick now.

Ferdinand was worried that much.

"Go back to Estrella and take some rest.

I can let Zion and Riley do your tasks instead," Ferdinand concluded that Alwin should rest.

Alwin tensed and was wide-eyed though.

He thought looking sick meant showing weakness.

And that he was getting punished for fighting with Arabella, so he was being told to return to Estrella.

"No, Your Majesty.

I’m fine! The weather was just a bit hotter than usual today.

And I won’t fight with Her Majesty again so please let me stay."

Alwin said Ferdinand was kind, but he was quick to think he was getting punished.

He was quite the contradiction as well.

{Ferdinand is just genuinely worried that you may be too exhausted that you even got sick.

Or that you were missing your parents.

He is not punishing you.

He merely wanted you to go and take some rest.

He meant the others can do your tasks in the meantime so you can rest without worries.} Arabella had to explain again.

"Just go to your room or wherever you want then.

You are dismissed."

Ferdinand didn’t correct Alwin’s misunderstanding and the way he dismissed him could be easily misunderstood as him being angry.

But what Ferdinand wanted to say was that Alwin could freely do as he pleased for now.

Arabella explained it again so Alwin would not misunderstand.

Alwin then bowed and began walking to the door.

"Arabella, I treasure you more than anyone else in this world.

I will choose you over everyone else.

But Alwin is also important to me.

He had been with me since he was a child and I raised him myself," Ferdinand began explaining to her too.

Arabella could see Alwin’s ears turn red as he continued walking to the door, pretending like he didn’t hear it.

"Yes.

I’m so sorry for being childish too.

I don’t know how we somehow just ended up debating about it."

"No, it was my fault.

I’m sorry if Alwin keeps picking a fight with you.

He may be more than 6000 years old, but he is still young.

If he is being childish and rude, it’s my fault for failing to educate him properly.

I will talk to him later, so he won’t keep fighting with you."

Ferdinand was trying to placate her while defending Alwin. And he was even apologizing for Alwin.

For elves, Alwin had just reached the marriageable age just like her.

If he was a human, he was probably her age.

We already made up which was why we were having tea together," Arabella explained.

Ferdinand meant that Arabella would be living with Alwin too once they retire there.

"Yes, Your Majesty," Alwin quickly agreed.

He had regained his cool and was back to being respectful and mature since Ferdinand was around.

Arabella jested and Alwin coughed.

I will never call you mother or something like that.}

Alwin didn’t know this statement would come to bite him someday.

{I was just kidding. You, people, are way too serious.} Arabella smirked.

It’s not like she wanted to be called ’Mother’ by someone so much older than she was either.
