Chapter 364: I’m Not Violent [Bonus Chapter]

’Why do I find him so cute even at times like this?

Look at him.

His face and ears are all red.’

Arabella thought her husband would feel like she fooled him. Or toyed with him. Yet, here he was being all shy and embarrassed instead.

It appears he wasn’t the only overthinker.

She was too.

[Seems like they need some time to talk.

His Majesty must be shocked to only learn about this now.

I’ve been wanting to tell him but there were too many things I wasn’t sure of.]

{Let’s talk about this more later.} Alwin told Arabella and she nodded.

Her husband looked like he needed some time to process this.

They indeed needed to speak alone.

"I’ll be taking my leave then," Alwin excused himself and was about to walk out of the room, but Ferdinand grabbed his wrist.

"Where do you think you’re going?

You think you can just leave after pointing a knife at my wife and threatening to kill her?"

[What if she’s traumatized by all this?

No wonder she stabbed him with the hairpin.

Who wouldn’t be alarmed after such intimidation?]

’Indeed,’ Arabella fully agreed.

If this wasn’t her second life, she would have indeed been traumatized by that.

And she probably wouldn’t have had the courage to fight back.

Ferdinand diverted his embarrassment to scolding Alwin for threatening to kill her.

Alwin had to apologize repeatedly.

"If you wanted to verify your observations, you could have asked her directly."

"But Her Majesty would have denied it and pretended not to have a clue about what I’m talking about," Alwin reasoned.

’Of course, I would. Who goes around telling people they can read minds?’

"You could have reported to me first."

Arabella looked elsewhere at those words from her husband.

It would have been bad if Alwin reported to him first and reported everything even about their past life.

"I wanted to. But I wanted to be sure before reporting it," Alwin glanced at Arabella for help.

But she thought he deserved the scolding since he did threaten to kill her, pointed a sharp knife at her throat, and even cut her hair.

He was the one who got hurt more in the end though.

"If it’s anything related to my wife, you report to me first before taking action all on your own," Ferdinand warned.

"Yes, Your Majesty.

My apologies for being hasty."

Alwin bowed his head. He knew accepting it would be better than trying to fight his way.

{Why won’t you use your wiles, right now?} Alwin complained since she wasn’t helping him.

{Why should I?

You said you were willing to accept any punishment from Ferdinand.

Then accept it.

You said it yourself earlier.

Or are you, not Alwin, after all?} Arabella replied slyly.

Alwin was rather sly too for him to ask her to seduce her husband so he would stop scolding him.

He used to just accept everything Ferdinand said without any complaints.

’In the earlier months of my marriage with Ferdinand, he simply did whatever Ferdinand told him.

Even Alwin is changing.

I guess he gained a sense of individuality in this life and learned to voice out his thoughts too.

Maybe, he would be able to leave Ferdinand sooner than I thought.’

Alwin had become more daring and had learned to contradict Ferdinand when he had to.

He had even learned not to help Ferdinand too much when he was at fault, just like when he angered Arabella last time.

’I think, this is for the best.

He seemed to worship Ferdinand like a god before.

But they are looking more friendly now even when at times, they are like this.’

Everyone was changing and loosening up, unlike their stiff selves in the past.

"And how come you got injured when it was my wife trying to stab you?

What did I train you for, for years?

You could have stopped it without hurting her or getting hurt.

What happened to all your reflexes?

It seems you’ve been staying in your lab too much these past years."

Ferdinand also thought the same as Rendell that Alwin hadn’t been taking good care of his body lately.

"I wasn’t expecting it.

Who would have thought Her Majesty could also be violent?

She even sla-"

Arabella covered Alwin’s mouth since he was about to tell Ferdinand she slapped him hard twice before trying to stab him.

It was left out in their story earlier since they both know Ferdinand had a very angelic perception of her.

Only stabbing his hand was mentioned.

But Alwin was giving more details vengefully since she wasn’t helping him get out of there with less scolding.

"What are you doing?" Ferdinand frowned.

"Alwin doesn’t seem to feel well yet, let’s just let him go this time and talk more about this later," Arabella quickly reasoned.

Alwin was about to remove her hand from his mouth but froze and didn’t dare touch her hand since Ferdinand was glaring at them.

"Don’t touch another man right in front of me," Ferdinand rose and carried Arabella with him back to his seat.

He settled her on his lap.

"And don’t you dare touch my wife," he growled at Alwin.

[His lips touched this.]

Ferdinand glared at Arabella’s palm and wiped it clean with his handkerchief.

"Oh, I’m so sorry."

Arabella recalled Ferdinand would be able to smell Alwin on her just from that.

But then again, she already had a trace of Alwin’s scent from when he grabbed her wrists earlier.

"Can I sit beside you instead?" she pointed at the space beside him.

Even if it’s just Alwin with them, it’s still embarrassing to be seated on Ferdinand’s lap while they were speaking.

Her husband seemed completely fine with it though. Or was showing off to Alwin?

"No. Just stay in my lap," Ferdinand scolded her too.

She cannot leave his lap with his arms locked around her.

"What was it you were about to tell me earlier?" he simply asked Alwin to continue instead.

"I was taken aback since Her Majesty slapped me hard twice," Alwin then told Ferdinand how it happened, and it was Arabella’s turn to cover her face with both palms.

"You did that too?" Ferdinand tried to get a peek at her face, but she didn’t budge either.

"I’m not violent.

I wouldn’t have done it if I knew it was Alwin.

He was pretending as an intruder.

I would have NEVER done it if I knew it was Alwin," Arabella emphasized while still covering her face.
