Chapter 267: You Are The Only One For Me [Bonus Chapter]
"Well done, Rendell. I knew I could trust you," Arabella beamed.
"It was my pleasure, Your Majesty," Rendell bowed and took a step back.
"I’m relieved, I could trust you.
Unlike someone here."
Arabella threw a sideglance at her husband and he flinched.
"A-Arabella, it was my mistake.
It won’t happen again," Ferdinand held her hand.
{Maybe Your Majesty needs to assure her the way she usually does to you?
Don’t you always get placated by being intimate?} Alwin told his lord.
{That’s me.
I love it when she assures me when I’m jealous.
But look at her.
When she’s jealous she doesn’t want me to touch her even in the least bit.}
Ferdinand pouted since Arabella had freed her hand from his grasp.
{Then there’s nothing more I could help with, my lord.
The tea was my strongest weapon in something like this.
I already added a calming potion to Her Majesty’s tea as well.
I believe Your Majesty can take care of the rest since you provoked her yourself.
I thought you had some plans in mind.}
Alwin indirectly said it was Ferdinand’s fault and was about to excuse himself.
{Wait, Alwin.
Don’t go yet.
How could you abandon me like this?}
Ferdinand gave Alwin a desperate look.
[I never thought a day would come when my lord would give me this kind of look.
The last desperate order he gave me in the past life was to save this woman.
He’s finally getting along well with her in this life but he suddenly does something reckless.
Well, I have no experience in these matters.
Even if I stayed here, what can I do?
They are rather confusing me.]
{My lord, I am not Raymond.} Alwin reasoned so he could leave.
{Right! Raymond. Go ask him for some advice.}
Ferdinand sent back Alwin all the way to Riva.
Alwin healed Arabella’s eyes so they won’t be puffy and red, then excused himself.
Rendell did too and they left together.
[What should I do in the meantime?
Should I just keep apologizing until she forgives me?
It would be better if she just poured all her anger at me and beat me up until she is not angry anymore.
I don’t know what to do when she stays silent.
She’s not even looking at me.]
Ferdinand had all sorts of thoughts but Arabella didn’t spare him a glance.
She wanted to punish him a bit more for making her go through hell and back today.
That was what it felt like after all.
"Arabella, I’m truly sorry," Ferdinand embraced her from behind and settled buried his face in the crook of her neck.
’Why is he doing this?
Does he know I feel weak when he does this?’
This kind of embrace makes her want to just revel in it.
’This is cheating.
This embrace feels too good to reject.’
Instead, she wanted to be held even tighter.
Her husband seemed to have sensed it and wrapped his arms tighter around her.
Arabella ended up just letting him hold her as is since it felt so nice and warm. And secure, even after what he did today.
"I’m truly sorry.
You know you are the only one for me," Ferdinand said in a gentle voice.
He kissed the locks of her hair and her shoulder before kissing her on the cheek too.
Arabella felt the heat rise to her face.
’When did he get so good at seducing me?’
She had to wonder if Ferdinand was a natural at this kind of thing.
"Arabella?
Please talk to me," Ferdinand kissed the back of her hand.
"Do you plan to do that kind of thing again?
Will I see another lady clinging around you so tightly like some eel?" Arabella gave him a glare.
"No. I swear, I won’t let that happen again," Ferdinand instantly promised.
"I don’t plan on getting any concubine either.
You are the only one I want.
I don’t care about everyone else.
Even if the ministers insist, I won’t get a single concubine."
Arabella eyed her husband for several seconds.
She sighed in relief when he looked sincere.
She didn’t want to feel that terrible again either.
"I forgive you.
But please don’t go scaring me like that again," Arabella finally gave in and settled her head against his chest.
[Really, I’m forgiven?
With how she looked earlier, I thought it would take longer.
She’s so kind and forgiving.] Ferdinand perked up.
Well, she wouldn’t have been this forgiving in her previous life.
If it was in the past, she would probably avoid him and not speak with him for a few days.
But this time, Arabella could read his mind so she knew Ferdinand was being sincere with his words and Carmella didn’t really interest him.
’Geez. He was so naughty to allow Carmella to be that close to him just to make me jealous.
Still, it did help me understand how he feels when he gets jealous.
It wasn’t a good feeling at all.’
Now, she understood her husband more because of this experience.
After all, in her past life, her objects of jealousy were not women, but Ferdinand’s knights instead.
It was because he was with his knights so much more than with her.
But now, they are spending more time together which was why they get to experience things like this.
Arabella got her first taste of jealousy with another woman.
"I’m really sorry for doing that.
You truly forgive me?" Ferdinand verified.
"Yes," Arabella closed her eyes and reveled in his embrace.
Even though getting jealous today did feel so terrible, she learned a lot from it.
And she realized that Alwin was right.
She already liked Ferdinand much more than she thought.
"Thank you."
Ferdinand kissed her forehead and cheek before pressing his lips against hers.
They cuddled on the couch for a few minutes.
But then, when her calmness fully returned, Arabella recalled the pile of work on her table.
Ferdinand had a lot on his too.
