"Please don’t avoid me again tomorrow. The servants and knights are already misunderstanding things. They thought we were in a fight. Or are we? Are you angry at me or something?"

Arabella searched Ferdinand’s eyes and he doesn’t seem upset with her. Alwin did not report what he heard.

"No, of course not! Why would I be angry at you? I already miss you after not being with you for a whole day," Ferdinand held her even tighter and kissed her hair.

"Then stop avoiding me. If you avoid me again tomorrow, I’ll avoid you too," Arabella said and Ferdinand flinched.

He imagined her avoiding him and he didn’t like it in the least bit.

[Right. It feels terrible to be avoided like that. What was I doing? I should have explained. I made her feel bad.]

"I’m sorry. I won’t do it again," Ferdinand promised not to avoid her and would do his best to remain calm tomorrow. Especially since it was the first day of the official start of the Assembly.

She accepted his apology and kissed him on the cheek.

Ferdinand went for the lips since he had been holding back the whole day. His kisses were hungry and hot.

"Hmm, maybe I should do that for you more often," Arabella thought out loud when they broke apart.

"M-more often?" Ferdinand’s face turned a deep red.

[I’d love that. But. . .] He gulped.

Arabella saw in Ferdinand’s mind that he had actually been fantasizing about her doing it to him quite a lot but he never thought he would actually get to experience it. It seemed to have made finally experiencing it the previous night even more precious to him.

’It must be the frustration. He’s pent up.’

She thought she should satisfy her husband so he won’t have the energy to get hard every time he recalls it.

’Wait! His stamina is...’

She almost sighed when she recalled that her husband seemed to have limitless energy. Still, she should at least try to satisfy him. The more intimate they get the more Ferdinand gets more at ease, after all.

Now that she thought about it, his mood gets darker when he’s not satisfied. If he’s in a bad mood tomorrow, it would be bad.

He would be emitting a dark dangerous aura again and scare everyone off when they should be socializing.

’Should I leave a mark on his neck?’

Arabella recalled that her hubby likes to flaunt it. Maybe she should leave a mark to warn the princesses thinking of seducing her husband.

’Yes, I should ward them off,’ she concluded she would leave a mark tonight on a spot that can still be covered so it would be up to her husband if he wanted to cover it or not.

If people saw the mark on Ferdinand’s neck, they would think Arabella was aggressive in bed.

It was also kind of a dare to the other princesses since they were taught to act as if they were the embodiment of purity and innocence even if they weren’t. They have to act as if they do not have any sexual desires. Only a few dare to go against this and be bold.

Only Carmella would probably be daring enough to still try seducing Ferdinand. But at least Arabella would be able to dissuade the others. She would have to deal with Carmella once she takes action.

The other royals would probably give Arabella a look of disapproval for not making Ferdinand at least cover the kiss mark or even for the fact that she dared to leave a mark.

But who cares. She’s too old to look for approval from them. Rather, she didn’t need their approval in these matters. Her intimacy with her husband was none of their business.

If it was making them uncomfortable seeing a mark, then they shouldn’t look.

’Humph. They can think whatever they want. It’s not like they are not being intimate with their partners as well.’

She cannot delay warning the princesses. She had to show them early on that she wasn’t giving her husband away.

"Yes. If I do it for you more often, maybe, you won’t be that tense since you will get used to it," Arabella replied to her husband as he finally stopped dwelling in his thoughts just as she did.

[What does she mean? How would I even get used to all those?] Ferdinand thought there was no getting used to it.

’We’ll see about that,’ Arabella smirked. She would make her hubby moan tonight.

That night, Arabella went down on Ferdinand several times as they once again got intimate.

Ferdinand didn’t want to lose so he made sure she was the one who was shaking in ecstasy before they slept.

In the morning, Ferdinand still got distracted by her lips but he was able to control himself and had breakfast with her. And he was indeed flaunting the mark on his neck.

The servants and knights were the ones who felt embarrassed at seeing it. And they thought that Arabella and Ferdinand made up.

Once they headed to the Grand Hall for the opening event of the Assembly, Ferdinand was in Emperor mode.

His poker face was back. He was back to looking cold, composed, and calculated. And his aura screamed of danger.

Arabella didn’t want to lose and composed herself as well. She had been an Empress for twenty years. She wouldn’t let the other royals keep thinking she was still just a princess. She had to match Ferdinand as well.

[Hmm. Impressive. It seems she’s already getting used to her role as Empress. At least she looks a bit as regal as His Majesty.] Alwin thought.

’He just praised me didn’t he?’ Arabella internally smiled as she maintained her composed demeanor. Alwin’s praise was quite hard to get so it was nice hearing it for once.

And even her husband noticed how she composed herself to have the elegance and aura of an Empress. He gave her an approving look.

Ferdinand then escorted her as they walked to the hall.

"His Imperial Majesty Ferdinand Valeria, and Her Imperial Majesty Arabella Lobelius Valeria ..."

The courtier announced their arrival in the hall and they were ushered to the best seats.

All eyes were on them. The Queens and Princesses around were surprised that Arabella’s aura was so different from the previous days. She had been more relaxed and open the previous days after all.

And Arabella was surprisingly able to learn the truth about Ferdinand and Icarus during the opening program to welcome everyone.
