Chapter 131: Rewards [Bonus Chapter]

With Nadia and her siblings around, along with those who had escaped from Safiro before, their tribesmen finally got out of their residences.

Nadia and her tribesmen reunited with their families. There were those who had lost some family members but they had at least one surviving family member or relative they reunited with.

The Safirans were delighted to see that all the children and young men and young ladies who were sneaked out of Safiro had recovered and were now growing healthily.

As Arabella had said earlier, there was nothing for them to have been guilty about because all their families and tribesmen wanted was for them to be able to live a better life which was why they were sent out of Safiro.

The Safirans who were left behind in Safiro were grateful that those they had helped to sneak out were alive and doing well. They did not hate them for living well while they were suffering in Safiro.

Arabella was relieved that the Safirans were as strong and resilient as Nadia.

Seeing their tribesmen were all well, the Safirans finally cooperated.

Nadia and her siblings gathered everyone even those who were bedridden at the clearing near the tables the magicians prepared so Alwin and the other magicians could examine them.

All of the Safirans who had been living in Safiro all this time were malnourished and had different kinds of illnesses due to a prolonged lack of nutrition, food, and water.

"It will take time to heal them all one by one. May I heal everyone at the same time, Your Majesty?" Alwin asked permission since Ferdinand makes the call when it comes to Alwin’s usage of a lot of mana.

"Yes, time is of the essence," Ferdinand approved.

Alwin said something in a different language and everyone was astonished as a huge magic circle appeared on the ground where the Safirans stood.

They were wrapped with golden green light and when it vanished, everyone was astounded when the Safirans no longer looked as thin and as malnourished as before.

’He is so powerful! Just how much mana does he have?’ Even Arabella was once again awed by Alwin’s capabilities. She heard healing wasn’t so easy even for magicians and yet he healed so many people all at once.

The effect of Alwin’s healing was instant.

The Safirans were still slim but those who had protruding bellies from malnutrition no longer had it.

All of them have gained some flesh so they no longer looked like skin and bones. And those who were formerly bedridden were able to sit up, some were even able to stand.

They no longer looked weak or sick either though they still needed to eat properly and gain some weight.

Those who still had ailments and still felt pain here and there after Alwin’s healing were examined by doctors brought from Riva.

After examining them, they were given appropriate potions by the magicians from the magic tower.

Once the healing session was done, everyone from Safiro was able to stand straight and walk properly, even the elderly and those who were formerly bedridden.

Moreover, the doctors recommended other medicines for those who had illnesses that cannot be cured by magic. The medicines, would of course be provided by the Imperial Palace.

[Everyone was cured and recovered just like that?!!] Nadia, her siblings, and their fellow tribesmen who had been staying outside of Safiro were all gawking at their tribesmen in disbelief.

’I know. I feel you. This is too unbelievably amazing,’ even to Arabella, it looked like a miracle. No wonder Valeria never fell. If all the past Emperors had magicians like Alwin, they would indeed never lose in a war.

Nadia and her siblings scrutinized Dante and held his hands and face to verify that they were not seeing things.

When they realized everything was indeed true, they glanced at Alwin with wonder and amazement. They even wondered if he was some sort of god.

Everyone repeatedly bowed in thanks to Alwin, Ferdinand, and Arabella before they embraced each other as they cried in glee that they were suddenly back to having healthier-looking bodies.

From everyone’s thoughts, Arabella learned that they also felt so much stronger and thought that after several months of exercise and training and they might be able to be back to their former strength when they were still warriors.

The Safirans then took a bath in the designated area and they were overwhelmed at the sight of so much water after so long.

Thankfully, Nadia had mentioned earlier that everyone would be too elated at the sight of water so Alwin and the others had placed drinking water at the entrance of each of the baths so the Safirans wouldn’t try to drink the bath water.

Some of the Safirans who stayed in Cordelia helped their families in the bath.

Alwin then set up a table for Ferdinand and Arabella where they could have tea while waiting for the Safirans to finish bathing.

Meanwhile, the tableware for the food began to be set up.

[Hmm, these warriors seem quite strong. Their equipment and weapons are very much lacking but seem sharp and keen.]

Bernardo and his tribesmen who became mercenaries felt embarrassed as Ferdinand glanced at their weapons.

[I have tried equipping everyone with high-grade weapons durable enough to fight with monsters but everything His Majesty’s knights were wearing is just a wishful dream to us. To them, we must look like some kids playing around with knives.] Bernardo fidgetted.

Bernardo and his companions tensed when Ferdinand walked towards them.

"Brave warriors, you have done well working for your homeland and your people. I commend your resolution, perseverance, and fortitude. As your reward for not giving up in the face of challenges and continuing to support your motherland, I shall ordain you all as knights," Ferdinand announced and everyone was shocked.

"We are allowed to become knights even after becoming mercenaries?" Bernardo dared to ask in fear that the decision would be taken back sooner or later.

"Of course. In Valeria, anyone who had the ability could be knighted. I can tell from your physique and the way you carry yourselves that you are quite able. With the proper equipment and weapons, your group would be formidable. I wish to see how the famed warriors of Safiro be able to rise again. Do you accept?"

"Yes, Your Majesty. We are very much honored by your praise. We will do our very best to meet your expectations," Bernardo and the others all kneeled.

Ferdinand blessed them and knighted them on the spot. The official ceremony would be held later but as of today, Bernardo and his men were all knights. They were no longer mercenaries.

"As part of your reward, your injuries shall be cured as well," Ferdinand added.

Bernardo and his men were puzzled since they had no current injuries at the moment.

"Alwin," Ferdinand commanded.

"Yes, Your Majesty."

Alwin walked to the newly knighted and uttered spells in a foreign language again. A potion floating in the air appeared in front of everyone.

"Drink this and all your injuries from the past shall be cured," Alwin announced.

Some hesitated but when Bernardo, Miguel, and Manuel all drank the potion, everyone followed suit.
