Chapter 126: Reunion of the Siblings
Chapter 126: Reunion of the Siblings
After all the pleasantries, they informed Count Cordelia about the general situation in Safiro and he readily agreed for Cordelia Castle to prepare cooked meals for the people of Safiro as well.
Ingredients from Valeria Palace were supposed to be teleported to Cordelia but the Count volunteered to have all the ingredients for the food be from Cordelia since they had plenty of supply and actually had a lot of excess produce.
Count Cordelia even volunteered to have his people pack loads of vegetables and other fresh produce to be sent to Safiro via the borders they shared once it was declared safe to travel.
The Count was indeed kind and helpful as Nadia had described.
With the matter of food preparation resolved, they proceeded to their second goal.
Count Cordelia’s butler guided Riley to the residence where Nadia’s siblings and the people from Safiro were living in.
Riley ensure it was safe before he teleported Arabella, Raymond, and everyone else there.
"It just took a few seconds?!"
Count Cordelia was overwhelmed to experience teleportation for the first time in his life.
[I know right? I tried to look as calm as I can but I was so excited and scared at the same time to experience this.]
[I probably had that look on my face as well when we just arrived in the castle earlier. Thankfully, all the attention was on Her Majesty.]
Both Nadia and Ivan shared the Count’s sentiments. They didn’t know traveling could be so fast and convenient. They did feel a bit dizzy but it was nothing compared to carriage rides that lasted several days to weeks or even months.
They arrived at the lawn in front of a huge mansion. The Count’s butler was there with the people of Safiro. He had gathered them at the front to welcome Arabella and Raymond.
Arabella looked around. There were children about three or four years old, some were probably six to ten years old, and there were young ladies and gentlemen about thirteen or fourteen.
It bothered her that all these young people were separated from their families at such a young age just in order to be able to live better than when they wherein Safiro.
Their parents clearly sent them here for better living conditions and a chance at a better future compared to when they were in Safiro.
It was a tough decision to make but it was for the good of these children. If Arabella was their mother, she knew she would have also made the same decision even if it was difficult to be far away from her child.
’Soon, you will be able to reunite with your families,’ Arabella internally promised.
Once the situation in Safiro gets better, these children could be allowed to go back and finally be able to reunite with their families. Arabella fully hoped so. She knew how hard it was to part with someone so important to you.
They all bowed to greet Arabella and Raymond.
’But why are there buff-looking men among them? Did Count Cordelia assign guards?’
Arabella wondered if the Count assigned knights and made them dress casually to prevent curious eyes and suspicion from the villagers.
However, these people didn’t have the aura of knights at all. They looked different. The swords strapped on their belts were of a different shape from knights as well.
Arabella eyed each of them.
’Oh, they had the same features. They are clearly from Safiro as well.’
"Brother?" Nadia called out and three of the most buff-looking men turned in Nadia’s direction all at the same time. Two ladies who had a resemblance to Nadia also gasped.
"Nadia!!!" they all exclaimed and almost run to Nadia but stopped mid-step when they recalled Arabella and Raymond’s presence.
"It’s alright," Arabella smiled and Raymond nodded.
The siblings hesitated and glanced at Nadia and Count Cordelia to very. When they also nodded, they finally ran to embrace each other.
"We thought you were falsely accused and executed," Aida and Myra cried as they embraced Nadia.
"I was caught and returned to Safiro. But thanks to Her Majesty’s summoning me to Riva, I was able to leave Safiro about two weeks ago. I’m so sorry I couldn’t contact everyone. I feared I might reveal your location so I didn’t dare send a letter."
"It’s alright. All that matters is you are alive and well."
"Why are all of you here?" Nadia asked her older siblings.
"Oh, we decided to visit since it’s been a month since we last came here to bring supplies and check on everyone."
Bernardo explained that ever since Nadia was caught in Riva, they often worried everyone hiding in Cordelia would also be caught so they visited as often as they could without attracting attention.
It was to ensure that everyone was still safe. They also come to bring some supplies and monetary support for the children.
It so happened that they weren’t able to visit for a month so they decided to visit last night and stayed in. They were planning to depart once night comes again.
However, this time, they would have to change their plans after learning from Nadia that Safiro would finally be freed from Dempsey.
Nadia then introduced her siblings to Arabella.
Once Aida and Myra had composed themselves, they looked more mature than their age.
They had the aura of mature ladies despite their young age, probably from being in charge of taking care of the children who were sneaked out from Safiro.
It could also be due to everything they had experienced at such a young age. Fighting to survive in a barren Safiro and going to the mines every single day must have been so difficult and tiring. Arabella wouldn’t have survived if it was her.
Moreover, they were smaller compared to other ladies their age probably because of the lack of nutrients when they were younger and having to work in the mines. But at least, currently, they did not in the least bit look malnourished. They probably recovered during their stay here in Cordelia.
Aida and Myra both had healthy weights and bodies now.
