Chapter 104: Raymond’s Children

Walking in the wide palace was so tiring but Arabella did her best to bear with it.

Since her dress was always long anyway, she changed her shoes to softer ones before the butler arrived so her feet would not ache much later.

With the Head Butler’s guidance, Arabella inspected the halls she can use for tea parties, banquets, and balls.

Everything was well-maintained, thanks to the Head Butler’s management.

Thus, all Arabella had to worry about was the decorations once she holds events. She could order it from merchants through her maids or personally meet with them if necessary.

Arabella asked the Head Butler for his recommendations and he provided her with a list of merchants she could trust.

She was relieved the merchants she had been ordering decorations from in her previous life were also on the list.

For the food and drinks, she can trust the palace chefs with it. She heard they were delighted to be able to cook food for her assistants who were staying in the palace decorating their rooms.

Eunice informed her that her assistants had high praise for the meals the chefs prepared so the chefs were delighted.

Her plan to ease the other chefs’ dissatisfaction and lack of a sense of accomplishment was working. Once she begins holding events, they would be too busy to even worry about not being able to use their abilities. She would make sure to maximize their skills in the following months.

Once Arabella was done with the inspection, she decided to take a breather in the garden before returning to her office. She had tea in one of the gazebos in the garden.

’The fresh air always helps to clear my mind.’

It was beginning to get hot because summer had begun but it felt so nice and fresh here in the garden.

She looked around the garden. It was as pretty as ever. The flowers are in full bloom and the lawn was well-maintained. The gardeners were doing their job well.

It reminded her she still had a lot to do. After Prudencia, comes Safiro.

’Right. I have to prepare for Safiro too.’

She was supposed to visit Safiro but it got delayed again.

Last night, when they were in the garden in Estrella, Ferdinand said he wanted to go with her to Safiro.

Thus, the travel was saved for the following day since Ferdinand had a lot of documents to sign today.

Alwin was also still in Prudencia overseeing the other magicians as they helped with the transport of the food supply to ensure it reaches the citizens quickly.

But since Ferdinand himself would accompany her to Safiro, he would see the situation for himself. It was the best scenario Arabella could hope for.

Seeing how Ferdinand had quickly resolved the matters in Prudencia, she hoped he could also do it for Safiro.

"Greetings, Your Majesty."

She was lost in thought when someone greeted her.

It was Raymond.

’Oh my, that’s Clarisse and their children with him.’

This is the first time she saw Clarisse since she was reborn.

Clarisse and even the children greeted her. The kids were both so lovely she wanted to hug them and carry them in her arms.

"Your Majesty, this is my wife Clarisse."

"It’s an honor to meet you, Your Majesty."

[Seeing her this close, Her Majesty’s beauty even surpasses the rumors. No wonder even the cold Emperor fell in love.]

Clarisse was twenty-five, the same age as Raymond. Though Arabella was sure it wasn’t Raymond’s real age since he’s also from Estrella.

"And these are my son and daughter. I mentioned them to you last time. I saw Your Majesty drinking tea alone in the garden so I thought I should fulfill my promise of letting them meet Your Majesty," Raymond was all smiles.

She was planning to formally invite Clarisse for tea after the visit in Safiro but it was even better with Raymond introducing them like this.

His family apparently visited him since the children insisted. They missed their father since he had been busy working the past few days and wasn’t able to go home.

"Raymart, Alice, this is Her Majesty, the Empress," Raymond introduced.

Raymart and Alice smiled shyly at first but they kept staring at her, curious about someone they were meeting for the first time.

"Mommy, Her Majesty is pretty," Raymart whispered but it was too loud for a whisper.

Arabella smiled at Raymart and he avoided her eyes. He hid behind his mother, getting all shy and embarrassed.

Alice meanwhile kept staring.

"So pretty," Alice said in her cute little voice. She was just three but she could already speak well and pronounce the words properly.

"Do you like Her Majesty?" Raymond asked and Alice nodded earnestly.

Arabella smiled. She once wanted to have a daughter.

"Your Majesty, have you tried carrying children?" Raymond asked and Arabella was surprised. She glanced at Alice and understood why Raymond asked. Alice looks like she wanted to be carried.

"Yes."

Arabella bent down and opened her arms. "Alice, come here."

Alice looked delighted and slowly walked to Arabella. She seemed to feel shy and hesitated at the last step so Arabella carried her in her arms before Alice decides to back out.

Arabella returned to her seat and settled Alice on her lap. She told Raymond and Clarisse to be seated as well.

’So small and adorable. I want to have a daughter someday too. Maybe after Fermin... Wait. What am I thinking about? I can’t even consummate with my husband yet.’

In her past life, she did want to have a daughter but Ferdinand didn’t visit her chambers again after she had Fermin.

Thinking of having a daughter now was too advanced. She has to focus on what she has to do to prevent the tragedy in her past life first.

Maybe, after her relationship with Ferdinand improves, and after she gives birth to Fermin, she could think about having a daughter. But not now, not yet.
