The two sat facing each other at the desk, and Claire looked at him expectantly, asking, "Louis, have you made the arrangements?"

Seeing her agree Louis nodded with relief. Before leaving, he patted Claire’s shoulder and said with a serious tone,

Claire forced a smile and watched as Louis leave. As it was getting late, she picked up her bag and let the office. Outside the clinic’s gate, the familiar red sports car was still parked across the street.

Feeling complicated, Claire walked slowly towards it. Opening the car door and sitting in the passenger seat, she still had a troubled expression on her face. Alex turned his head to look at her and couldn’t help but ask with concern, "What happened?"

Claire looked up at him, opened her mouth, but couldn’t say a word. He was Louis’s boss, and no matter what happened, as long as he said a word, Louis couldn’t refuse. The car was filled with a deathly silence, with only the sound of the cold wind whistling past the windows, which sounded particularly clear.

After a while, Claire couldn’t hold it in any longer and turned to look at him, "Alex, why have you been so quiet lately? Have I done something wrong? Have offended you?"

He replied calmly, and then added, "If you had offended me, would you be sitting here safe and sound. Upon hearing this, Claire was taken aback and felt a hint of anger rising in her heart. She snorted coldly and said, "You seem to know yourself pretty well."

After saying this, Claire regretted her words and looked at Alex with a remorseful expression. Surprisingly, she didn’t see any sign of displeasure on his face. "That’s not exactly what you want." Alex’s voice was indifferent. Claire was taken aback for a moment, and looked up in surprise.

Alex was staring at her with deep eyes, his eyes were as dark as the night. She paused for breath, and subconsciously avoided his gaze. Alex withdrew his gaze and continued to drive the car with an unpredictable expression.

Soon, the car stopped in front of their Villa, he turned his head, and said in a calm tone "Get out of the car, aren’t you tired? Go to bed early and rest."

Claire came back to her senses and thought to herself that she was really crazy to expect to hear his truth. She is used to his attitude these days, as long as he can maintain this state is enough.

She pushed the door and got out of the car, and walked towards the house. When she was about to go back to the bedroom, a man’s deep and magnetic voice suddenly sounded behind her, as if penetrating a long distance
