Chapter 337: No Way Out, Brother Yan’s Identity [1 Update]

Chapter 337: Chapter 337: No Way Out, Brother Yan’s Identity [1 Update]

Qin Yu had not managed to avoid being caught over the years, but he was very cunning, always able to produce an alibi or have his subordinates take the fall for him.

This had allowed him to remain at large, continuing to hurt innocent people recklessly.

These pieces of evidence had also been gathered and arranged by the Bureau 723 overnight.

Counting on multiple charges, and all involving loss of life, Qin Yu wouldn’t be able to leave a prison cell for the rest of his life.

It just so happened that Qin Yu and his brother, Qin Xian, would be able to keep each other company in prison so they wouldn’t be too lonely.

"You?!" Seeing Ye Wanlan, Qin Yu was taken aback first, but in that flash of a moment, he suddenly understood something.

He had fallen from heaven to hell overnight, all thanks to the girl before him!

Yet, Qin Yu still couldn’t figure out how Ye Wanlan had learned about the car accident he planned over two years ago.

He had meticulously destroyed all the evidence himself.

"Big Brother, you’ve probably offended many people, including Steward Qin," Qin Zhi said with a faint smile. "You missed one of the schedules, which Steward Qin hid in a crevice in the attic because he didn’t want to offend the Qin family members but also didn’t want to cover for you."

She had originally sought evidence of business crimes to force Qin Yu to step down, but she had not expected to stumble upon such a big surprise.

Qin Yu’s gaze was filled with disbelief.

"If any of the Qin family members besides me had found this schedule, they would have destroyed it to protect you," Qin Zhi said coolly. "Unfortunately, it was me who found it."

Qin Yu finally snapped, rage uncontrollable, "You did that on purpose that day!"

He deliberately incited her by talking about joining the company, just so she would end up locked in the attic.

"Big Brother, I’m already twenty-five years old. Do you really think I’m still as impulsive as I was when I was a child?" Qin Zhi laughed, her smile cold as ice. "You can act; can’t I?"

Qin Yu, infuriated, veins bulging on his forehead, yelled, "Qin, Zhi! I am your elder brother!"

There was an order to age and a distinction in respect.

"Yes, Big Brother," Qin Zhi was still smiling. "I never denied that you’re my big brother. Aren’t I still calling you that?"

"You—!" Qin Yu tried to stand up, but his hands were firmly nailed to the armrests of the chair, leaving him helplessly furious, eyes blazing.

"It seems Mr. Qin isn’t too fond of the gift I brought you," Ye Wanlan raised her brows. "But it’s okay, I like to give many gifts at once, and there are more to come, I’m sure there will be something Mr. Qin will appreciate."

Qin Yu couldn’t help but roar, "Ye Wanlan!"

His mind was bursting with many unresolved questions.

Even if Qin Zhi had found evidence against him harming Zhou Heyuan, when did Qin Zhi and Ye Wanlan start colluding?!

"I can hear you; I’m not deaf," Ye Wanlan said calmly, her gaze unfluctuating. "You said the Qin family won’t abandon you. Well, let’s wait and see."

She turned to leave, and Qin Zhi, not in the mood for more conversation, followed suit.

Just as she breathed in the fresh air outside, Qin Zhi began to feel nauseous uncontrollably, tears falling unexpectedly.

For twenty-five years, she had been oppressed, and it was only today that it finally cleared up.

The Qin family had gone so far as to suppress her company in secret to force her into a marriage and bring her back home.

Ye Wanlan handed over a tissue, "Wipe your tears."

"Thank you, Miss Ye," Qin Zhi wiped her tears and slowly squatted down, clutching her stomach. "We’re mere strangers, and you have your own grudge against the Qin family, yet you’re willing to help me—I don’t know what I can offer to repay your kindness."

"I know you’ve established the Hope Fund," Ye Wanlan bent down. "You’ve been donating to poor girls in mountainous areas to help them leave their villages."

She would be very willing if such a person were to take over Qin Corporation.

Qin Zhi was startled: "Miss Ye, how do you..."

It was something even the Qin family members did not know.

"Let’s take a trip to the hospital first," Ye Wanlan flagged down a taxi. "You’ve been locked up for a whole day and night without proper food; your body won’t take it much longer."

Qin Zhi didn’t refuse and left in the car.

Watching Qin Zhi leave, someone called out to Ye Wanlan from behind.

"Miss Ye."

Ye Wanlan turned around to see a familiar face.

Madam Qin was opulent and graceful when last she saw her in a mall.

But just one night had aged her considerably, draining all liveliness.

"Miss Ye, you’ve already sent Ah Xian to jail, and if Ah Yu goes too, the Qin family will be completely done for," Madam Qin pleaded wearily, "Please, have mercy."

At this moment, Madam Zhou and Zhou Hechen were also released by the police.

Madam Zhou frowned at the scene and sneered, "She must be out of her mind, asking her former little lover for help. She’d better beg us."

But of course, she would never let Qin Yu escape unscathed!

Zhou Hechen was unusually silent, realizing perhaps he had never really understood Ye Wanlan from the start.

How she became a student of Yan Tingyue—he had yet to uncover any leads.

"Hechen?" Madam Zhou noticed his gaze and said coldly, "The Kang Family will be visiting in a few days. You’d better behave."

Zhou Hechen awkwardly withdrew his gaze, "Yes, Mother."

"Let’s go," Madam Zhou’s voice was colder, "We must block all of Qin’s avenues; only then can you avenge your brother."

Madam Qin was oblivious to Madam Zhou, her focus entirely on Ye Wanlan.

She knew well that if Ye Wanlan wished it, Qin Yu could be saved.

"Madam Qin, as I said on the phone," Ye Wanlan’s face was impassive, "being a smart person, you should know what the best solution is right now."

Madam Qin’s expression faltered.

Of course, she knew.

The best course would be to make Qin Zhi chairman of Qin Corporation and announce Qin Yu’s exile from the family for maximum benefit.

But Qin Zhi was a woman, how could she possibly take over Qin Corporation?

Madam Qin was adamantly against it.

"Also, it wasn’t me who sent him there; it was his own actions that sealed his fate," Ye Wanlan said indifferently. "The longer you cover for him, the bigger the gap he will expose."

Madam Qin opened her mouth but ultimately said nothing, her expression resigned.

Ye Wanlan then proceeded to meet up with Yan Tingfeng.

"Xiao Wan," Yan Tingfeng greeted her with a slight nod, "The rest has been taken care of by Bureau 723."

"Thank you, Director Yan," Ye Wanlan smiled slightly, "Things are indeed much simpler with Director Yan involved."

Yan Tingfeng’s eyes shifted at the mention of his title: "Director Yan?"

"Civilian rumors say that the head of Bureau 723 is a mystery, and no one knows how many have changed," Ye Wanlan said nonchalantly. "But for now, it is Director Yan, isn’t it?"

Previously, she was 70% certain of Yan Tingfeng’s identity; today, she reached 100%.

If not for Yan Tingfeng being the head of Bureau 723, how could Bureau 723 personnel always show up for clean-ups?

"Is that so?" Yan Tingfeng suddenly smiled, seemingly contemplating, "Bing He and Tie Ma have been with me for years. Tie Ma might suspect something, but Bing He remains clueless."

"Being too clever can be harmful. Sometimes, it’s better to be ignorant and not have to think too much," Ye Wanlan offered a piece of candy, "Here, hold out your hand, have some candy."

At the same moment, Bing He suddenly sneezed twice, almost shaking the heavens.

Tie Ma quickly dodged away.

"I’m sure someone’s cursing me!" Bing He said indignantly. "Who is speaking ill of me?"

Tie Ma was puzzled by his logic: "Why are you so sure someone’s cursing you?"

"There’s an old saying: one sneeze means someone is thinking of you; two sneezes mean someone is cursing you," Bing He explained leisurely. "So there must be someone talking behind my back!"

"And what about three sneezes?" Tie Ma inquired.

"Do I even need to answer that?" Bing He looked down on him, "Three sneezes obviously mean you have a cold."

Tie Ma: "..."

Sure enough, if he continued working with Bing He, his IQ would plummet indefinitely.

After failing to sway Ye Wanlan, Madam Qin still didn’t want to give up, constantly running back and forth with Patriarch Qin.

Their local connections in Jiangcheng were of little use at that moment, and they managed to reach out to a former partner from Yunjing with great effort.

"Mr. Qi, please make accommodations," Patriarch Qin beseeched with clasped hands. "He’s all we have left, he absolutely cannot just go in like this. Whatever you want, we can provide."

Madam Qin also quickly added, "Yes, yes, as much as we can give."

"Qin brothers, Madam Qin, it’s not that I don’t want to help you," Mr. Qi appeared troubled, "If Ah Yu had only offended the Zhou Family, there might still be hope to pull him out, but now you’ve also made it onto the black list of Bureau 723. Tell me, how can I assist?"

Even the king of heaven couldn’t save him now.
