Chapter 178: Chapter 178: Meeting Her Son II

The drive to Wu Tang’s hideout was long, and Tang Mei fell asleep in between.
Wu Tang did not bother waking her up. It was best she was asleep as it gave him time to think properly.
After what seemed to be forever, they finally arrived at the hideout.
Wu Tang tapped her to wake her up.
"Wake up, why are you sleeping, don’t you want to meet your son anymore?" Wu Tang questioned with a teasing tone.
At the mention of her son, Tang Mei snapped her eyes open as she looked around.
"Where are we?" She asked, rubbing her sleepy eyes to clear off the sleepiness in them.
"We are at your son’s location, I can assure you that your son enjoys it here, you are the one being bothered about him, you should be more focused on our plans," Wu Tang rolled his eyes at her.
"And how can I focus on our plans? Do you let me in on your plans? Maybe if you do, we would not be in this mess which was created by you," Tang Mei refuted him blatantly.
"And what mess could that be?" Wu Tang played dumb, but his aura was becoming increasingly dangerous, and Tang Mei found it difficult to breathe.
But she held her ground. She was tired of being treated as his subordinate. As much as she hated to admit, they were both going to get married, and they were partners. She needed to at least have a clue on what he was planning.
"Our wedding is a mess, we are not meant to get married, this was not meant to happen at all, if you had at least told me about what you planned to do that day, then all these would not have happened," Tang Mei rolled her eyes at him.
"Then do you think you could have stopped Li Qiang from turning the tables?" Wu Tang asked, speechless at her confident behavior.
Tang Mei turned silent, confused on how she was to reply.
"I thought as much," he sneered at her silent expression.
"Li Qiang was well aware of the plan, and even if you knew about it, then it would not have made any difference," Wu Tang explained it to her.
He wanted her to know that even if she knew about it, then it would not change the situation they found themselves. It might even be worse.
"I am yet to find the mole, and if I do, I would give the person a punishment worse than death," Wu Tang’s eyes flashed with a strong killing intent causing Tang Mei to gulp.
"But I would appreciate it if you told me about your plans, you were the one who reached out to me, asking for a partnership, treat me as your partner," Tang Mei begged.
Wu Tang smiled at her, but it was not a genuine smile. The girl was completely clueless that she was being used, and he was going to make sure it remained that way.
He could not tell her his plans. If he did, she was going to back out and their goals did not align. But he needed a scapegoat, and she was the perfect sacrificial goat.
"Mei, you do not need to know, now, are you ready to meet your son? It has been a while since you have seen him," Wu Tang effectively changed the topic.
He exploited her weakness as he knew how much she loved her son.
"Let’s go," she said to him hastily, and they exited the car, and walked into the hideout.
Tang Mei subconsciously frowned as she noticed the muscular men with guns. She wondered if her son was truly safe in such a place.
Wu Tang seemed to know what was on her mind as he commented, "you do not need to be worried about your son’s safety, he is perfectly fine here, and I am pretty sure he is adapting to the environment."
Tang Ma snapped her head towards him, and for the first time, she saw a genuine smile on his lips. And though he looked handsome with that smile, it did not stop Tang Mei from disliking him.
They finally approached a room which was heavily guarded by two guards which were stationed on both sides of the door, and Tang Mei shivered uncontrollably.
"Boss!" The guards chorused on seeing Wu Tang.
"Hmm, how is he?" Wu Tang softened his face as he spoke about Tang Mei’s son, Tang Ni.
"He is having his afternoon nap," one of the guards replied.
Wu Tang turned to look at Tang Mei who stared at the door with longing and yearning, and he shook his head.
"Let her in, she is the boy’s mother," he instructed, and the guards immediately made way for her, opening the door for her at the same time.
Tang Mei did not bother thanking him as she rushed into the room.
"Women," Wu Tang spat as he gestured for one of the guards to get him a chair. He was going to have his seat at the door.
Tang Mei carefully walked into the room as she noticed her son peacefully sleeping.
Tears fell from her eyes as she watched him. It was not her intention to disturb him, but she could not help herself as she approached the bed, taking a seat on the bed.
"Tang Ni," she whispered as she kissed his forehead, stroking his hair at the same time. Oh, how she had missed her son.
It was unclear if it was time for Tang Ni to wake or if Tang Mei’s touch caused him to wake up, but Tang Ni woke up.
He rubbed his sleepy eyes as he tried to sit up. As he made direct contact with his mom, he pounced on her immediately.
"Mom! You have finally arrived," Five-year old Tang Ni remarked excitedly.
Tang Mei protectively held him in her hands.
"Hmm, baby, Mummy is here, and she is not leaving," Tang Mei kissed his cheeks, her tears touching his cheeks as well.
