"What did you say?" She asked, putting away her lost look.

"I said, I would love to know what is on your mind, I am very excited to know about it, you looked so lost in thought, which is unlike you," Li Qiang mentioned, and she chuckled, while she walked around him to go to the bathroom.

"You do not need to know what I was thinking about," she paused as she turned to look at him, "by the way, you look good, you have always looked good, and you would continue to look good," she complimented him before rushing into the bathroom.

Li Qiang was stumped by her words, and he did not get himself back together until after two minutes. He chuckled helplessly before he walked to his wardrobe, he had to put something on, or Xin Yan might not want to lie on the same bed as he.

The night was peaceful, or was it for the family, as each had different thoughts on their minds, but they were all concerned about one person, Grandpa Li.

Before Xin Yan went to sleep, she sent a text to Jiang Lanfen. She would not forget that she still needed to complete her revenge.

The next morning, the faces of everyone improved slightly.

"Are you ready?" Li Qiang asked, he was referring to Xin Yan.

"I am, I would do this," she replied with a firm expression.

"I would not go with you," he informed her, and she snapped her head towards him, confused.

"Yes, this is your battle, I should not interfere in it, you should be the one to take charge, this is one of the reasons you were reborn," he explained to her.

She exhaled through her lips, showing she had comprehended what he had to say to her.

"I am scared," she finally confessed, Li Qiang fixed his gaze on her and he shook his head.

"There is no reason to be scared, you have planned this, everything has been set, you do not need to worry about the consequences, how about I accompany you? I would wait outside, and I would be on standby," Li Qiang wanted to soothe her emotions; therefore he suggested accompanying her.

Xin Yan agreed immediately. She would rather he followed her, than she went alone. She needed that bit of emotional and physical encouragement for what she was about to do.

It was an absurd plan, but it was necessary to keep Jiang Lanfen away from her. After she dealt with Jiang Lanfen, she was going to focus on Yuan Renshu, or she thought she would do so.

"What about the kids?" She questioned.

"We could drop them off at your grandparents’ place, or your brother, we have plenty of people who are willing to take care of them," Li Qiang replied, and she consented with a nod.

Two hours later, Xin Yan and Li Qiang were seated in a car while they parked outside an uncompleted building.

"Do you think she would show up?" Xin Yan asked while biting her fingers, it was an impulsive habit for her, something she did whenever she was anxious and uncertain.

"Look into your heart, ask yourself that question, I believe you would have the answer to that," Li Qiang replied to her, as he gave her a vague answer.

She looked at him and she pouted her lips.

"What?" He asked with a shrug of his shoulders.

"It would not hurt you if you gave me a straightforward answer," she folded her arms, while scowling at him.

"I should not pamper you all the time, you should be able to give answers to things which bother you, what if I am not here one day?" He asked and she lowered her head in embarrassment.

What he said made a lot of sense, well, she would not have thought of this if he did not enlighten her.

"I am sorry," she apologized with a remorseful look on her face.

Her apology caught him off guard as he asked, "why are you apologizing?"

"I was not smart enough," she replied while pursing her lips.

He laughed out loud because her current demeanor made her seem like a student who was begging, having committed a considerable offense.

"You do not need to apologize, I find it funny that you do," he said to her, and she smiled seeing the laugh on his face.

"She would show up," she suddenly spoke up, and he turned to her with his eyebrows raised.

"How are you so confident?" He asked, as his eyes darted around. He was on the lookout.

"Because I have spent countless moments with Jiang Lanfen, I know how her mind works, she wants answers; therefore, she would not want to miss the only day she could get an answer, she has always been a curious person," Xin Yan analyzed, and he beamed.

"Not bad," he complimented her, and she had a proud smile on her face.

They suddenly heard a loud rumble as they watched how a car drove in. Xin Yan turned to look at Li Qiang as she gestured for him to see, she had a triumphant grin on her face as she pointed to the car.

"Did I not tell you that she would show up?" She questioned with a smug chuckle.

"But I was not the one who was scared earlier on? Little bunny, where is your shame?" Li Qiang asked.

She flipped her hair in reply, she was not going to give him the satisfaction of taunting her.

Li Qiang could only stare at her with a doting look, regardless of what she did, he could only give her a look of affection.

"What are you going to do now? She showed up, what’s your next move?" He asked, and she gave him a smile in return.

"I am going to make her wait, she always made me wait in my previous life, I do not think it is a bad thing for her to take a taste out of her medicine," Xin Yan had a sneer on her face as her eyes was fixed on Jiang Lanfen who had already exited the car, and was gazing at the building with a confused look.
