Chapter 111: Chapter 111: Grandpa Li’s Unknown Journey

Xin Yan and Li Qiang finally arrived home, and they were surprised to find their kids at home.

"Grandpa dropped us off, he said he needed to attend to something, it sounded urgent," Li Chuxi explained to them after seeing their questioning gazes.

"Urgent? Did he say what it was?" Li Qiang asked, his brows drawn together as he thought about what his grandfather was planning to do.

"Sadly, he did not, but he looked anxious," Li Meimei replied, and the frown on the couple’s faces deepened.

"No!" Li Qiang suddenly exclaimed after a few minutes of silence.

All eyes turned to him as he exclaimed.

"What is wrong?" Xin Yan asked, she could not shake the feeling that something was wrong.

"Grandfather is about to go on a trip, and I am afraid he will get hurt," Li Qiang paced around the room with his hands on his forehead.

Every so often, he wondered what was always going on through his grandfather’s mind.

"Do you have any idea as to where he might be going?" Xin Yan was also worried, she only hoped the old man did not get hurt because of his impulsiveness.

"I have no idea, grandfather always keeps things to himself, and he never tells me what is going on in his mind, I am worried, I only know that the place he is heading to is a dangerous place and there is no network to get through to him," Li Qiang sat on the sofa while his mind was all over the place.

He was scared on behalf of his grandfather.

"I think you should try to call him now, who knows, he might pick up," Xin Yan tried to calm down as she suggested to him, but her fingers which were trembling her calm look.

"I will try it now," he suppressed the fear in his mind, before he dialed his grandfather’s number.

The phone rang for a while, but no one picked up, and this scenario caused the family to be scared.

"He has taken off," Li Qiang slid to the floor as he informed them.

The girls did not understand what was happening, but they knew that something was wrong with their grandfather; therefore tears fell from their eyes.

"Dad, do not cry, I believe that grandfather would be safe wherever he is," Li Meimei consoled Li Qiang, and he chuckled while he looked at his two daughters whose faces were enlarged before him.

He found it ironic. He was not crying, yet his kids were consoling him. Not only that, but he raised his hands and used his fingers to wipe the tears on their faces.

"Do not cry little ones, I believe that grandfather would be safe wherever he is because he has two angels who are worried about him," Li Qiang used the exact words which they had used for him and they chuckled.

Xin Yan knelt beside them and gave the three of them a reassuring smile, and they all hugged.

Meanwhile, Grandpa Li stared at his phone which continually rang, and he shook his head before he turned it off.

"Old Master, are you sure you want to take this path? The kids are worried about you," Grandpa Li’s advisor asked.

Grandpa Li looked out the window, and he sighed, "it is necessary to take this step, the kids would only be safe if I do so," he replied with a loud sigh as his gray hair turned even more white.

"You know that I would always be with you, any step you take would always be followed, and I would not have any argument," the advisor pledged to him and Grandpa Li nodded, he had no doubt that his advisor was telling the truth.

At the Xins’ Residence, Grandpa Xin and Grandma Xin sat in the study.

"He has left, hasn’t he?" Grandma Xin asked as she stared at her husband who had a frown on his face.

"He has, and I am worried," Grandpa Xin replied as he stomped his cane on the floor lightly.

"Why did you not convince him to stop? Li Qiang would be worried, especially since he does not know where his grandpa has gone to," Grandma Xin berated her husband, something she did not do on a normal basis.

This was because of the fear she had in her. She was worried. What Grandpa Li had gone to do could either make or mar him and on a normal basis, it was dangerous and people never made it out alive.

"How was I supposed to know? I thought that after our last talk, he would have understood but Wenjun is very stubborn," Grandpa Xin replied almost immediately as he rubbed the space between his brows, he felt annoyed.

He had thought Li Wenjun had already deviations against going on that journey of no return, but it was obvious he was very stubborn.

"Do you think we should inform Li Qiang?" Grandma Xin asked, and he shook his head in reply.

"Do not try it!" He warned her.

"Li Qiang is just as stubborn as his grandfather, if he finds out where his grandfather had gone to, he would chase after him and none of us can stop him, not even Xin Yan, do you want to make Xin Yan a widow at her young age? Do you want the kids to be fatherless?" Grandpa Xin warned and she nodded.

"I am just worried about Wenjun, he could have discussed with us before he made a hasty decision," Grandma Xin had every reason to be worried.

They had all grown up together and the bond they had was not to be. If something were to happen to him, both families would be hit, no doubt about it.

"Let us pray that he will be safe, there is nothing we can do at this point," Grandpa Xin said to her, and she nodded with a heavy gaze.

"Boss, there is news," the cloaked man was in his office as his subordinate rushed in, while panting heavily.

"What is it about?" The cloaked man put away the files he was working on as he stared at his subordinate, obviously waiting for the news.

"The old man of the Li’s has gone on a journey but no one knows where he has gone to, and they are all worried," the cloaked man sat upright at the mention of this big news.
