Seeing this, Han Jiayang plopped down next to his brother as well. Cao Zhixin, having failed to snatch a seat from Zhen Yan, hung his head and stood in front of him.

His gaze was fixed on the top of Zhen Yu’s head, with no telling what he was thinking.

Lu Huai suddenly spoke up, asking, "Zhen Yu, are you sick? I thought we could go play King of Fighters after the competition!"

He quickly got up, dusting off his pants, and complained, "I just wanted to see how miserable you were feeling! Whether you could still compete or not! Why’d you swipe at me like that!?"

Zhen Yu’s tone was anything but friendly, "Don’t have a mouth huh! Can’t you ask first! Who let you scare me by leaning in like that!"

"You, hmph!" Lu Huai was momentarily stunned by the retort, then haughtily turned his head away, no longer picking a quarrel with Zhen Yu.

Though he kept quiet, he did grumble to himself in his heart.

"Just your luck! With so many people watching! As the King, I’ll give you some face since you’re a girl!

"Really! I just wanted to play a few rounds of King of Fighters with you! Since the start of school, I’ve called you out several times and you never show! You don’t give me any face at all!"

Thinking this, Lu Huai rubbed his nose frustratedly and muttered, "Stingy ghost!"

Zhen Yu stayed where she was, planning to join the Affiliated School group once everyone was assembled.

She stayed put; Lu Huai went ahead and sat down next to Han Jiayang.

Lu Huai didn’t answer but instead pointed his finger at Han Mingyue and asked, "Do you know him?"

"You don’t know each other? Then why are you sitting together?" Gu Qing was momentarily puzzled, then immediately asked with a realization, "Oh... Where did Zhen Yu go?"

"I’m right here!" Zhen Yu’s voice came from behind Gu Qing; she swung her arms as she passed Gu Qing and walked over.

"The gathering might be starting soon. Just sit here and don’t move; I’ll come find you after the competition!" Zhen Yu leaned over and whispered into Han Mingyue’s ear.

"Okay, I’ll wait for you right here!"

Zhen Yu stood up and twisted her head in the direction of the Affiliated School, "So I’ll go over to gather now?"

"Mhm." Han Mingyue nodded, "Go ahead! If you don’t feel good, make sure to speak up!"

"I know."

The two of them thus whispered to each other in public, seemingly not shy about it at all.

Lu Huai was already numb to this.

Gu Qing and Li Yueru had seen these two alone together before and were somewhat mentally prepared.

So the three of them quietly waited on the side.

Only after Zhen Yu finished speaking did Gu Qing ask, "Are you going to gather now?"
