Chapter 384: Will bring him back home.
Chapter 384: Will bring him back home.
"Every nation has its laws, every family its rules." And our family isn’t different from does other family.
"We also have our own roles."
Camilla tossed the items in her hand onto the long table with deliberate calm.
"Though Jonathan has been taken away, this matter is far from over."
Her voice, though soft and cool, carried an unmistakable edge that pierced through the room.
"Take a look for yourselves."
The assembled guests, already brimming with curiosity, straightened in their seats and leaned forward.
When they saw what Camilla had thrown onto the table, their breaths hitched.
Laid bare before them were unmistakable evidence and a damning list—names of those who had conspired with Jonathan to seize control of the Luther Corporation and the family’s leadership.
This was a reckoning.
A warning, delivered with chilling precision.
Collins and Santino, among others, felt as though they had plunged into an icy abyss.
Their blood ran cold, limbs stiffening in terror, eyes wide with dread.
"Grandpa Luther—"
Collins was the first to react.
Collins staggered to his feet, his face ashen, fists clenched so tightly his knuckles whitened.
Trembling, he forced out his plea.
"We were deceived by Jonathan.
Please... show us mercy."
His voice wavered as he struggled to hold himself upright under the weight of impending ruin.
"From now on, we’ll be extremely cautious and won’t make such foolish mistakes again."
"Absolutely, grandpa Luther," Santino gritted his teeth and rose to his feet, his face as pale as parchment, all traces of his earlier smugness gone.
"It was Jonathan who deceived us—he claimed something had happened to you and the family head.
We only supported him because we thought we were acting in the best interest of the Luther Family."
His voice trembled as he clasped his hands together.
"Please, for the sake of the family, spare us this once." ...
Seeing this, the others quickly stood as well, joining in their desperate please to the old man.
Yet Grandpa Luther remained unfazed, leisurely stirring the tea leaves in his cup, showing no intention of speaking.
It was clear he intended to leave the matter entirely in— Camilla understood his silent cue and spoke up, her voice smooth as silk yet chilling to the bone.
"Honored elders, it seems you’ve all developed a case of amnesia.
The Luther Family is under my authority now."
A faint smile played on her lips, her tone deceptively gentle.
"Instead of begging Grandfather, you’d have better luck begging me. I have a soft heart, after all."
The moment their eyes met hers—those icy, unfeeling depths—a wave of paralyzing dread shot straight through their chests, freezing them where they stood.
They glanced at Grandpa Luther, who remained indifferent as if detached from the world, and had no choice but to lower their heads before Camilla.
With much groveling and pleading, they poured out their apologies and excuses.
Camilla listened quietly, her dark eyes veiled in mist, her true emotions unreadable.
Only when Collins and the others finally paused, their lips parched from speaking, did she nod slightly and speak in a measured tone.
"Being deceived is indeed pitiful." And I feel really sorry for you people.
Collins and his companions held their breath, waiting for her next words.
Morgan and the others frowned as they watched Camilla, concern flickering in their eyes.
She’s still young—what if she softens her stance? Is this how she is going to manage the Luther Corporation? By forgiving criminals?
But Grandpa Luther and Uncle Carlos remained utterly composed.
Camilla narrowed her eyes slightly as she observed the glimmer of hope rising in Santino and the others.
"However," she continued, her voice now devoid of warmth, icy and unyielding, "the Luther Family’s rules cannot be broken."
"All those who conspired with Jonathan will be dealt with according to family law.
As for their affiliated families, every share of Luther Corporation stock and every benefit they’ve gained from it will be confiscated With immediate effects.
Furthermore, their entire lineage must leave San Francisco—none of their descendants may return for four generations."
Even as a branch family, they had their own connections and influence.
She had no intention of dealing with endless repercussions.
Exiling them entirely was the cleanest solution.
A trace of approval flickered in Grandpa Luther’s downcast eyes.
The greatest weakness of a leader was mercy. And he is happy seeing Camilla in control.
In this regard, both Sinclair and Camilla had surpassed him.
So this is what the lady calls "mercy"?!
The crowd was stunned by Camilla’s ruthless tactics.
All the Luther Family’s key connections and influence were rooted in San Francisco.
Yet with just a few words, Camilla had obliterated the foundations these branches had painstakingly built over decades—turning them into traitors in their own clans?!
Collins and Santino felt as though thunder had struck them, their bodies numb as if thrown into a pit of blades and flames.
This punishment was even harsher than Grandpa Luther’s!
"You are a venomous witch!"
Santino’s eyes bulged with rage as he lunged from his seat toward Camilla.
But before he could reach her, the mercenaries stationed at the door swiftly dragged him away.
Collins and the others, their faces ashen with despair, met the same fate.
With a third of the attendees removed, the conference room grew eerily quiet, the air thick with tension.
Now that fear had been established, it was time for grace.
Camilla turned her gaze to Morgan.
"You can distribute the shares they’ve handed over, uncle Morgan"
When Sinclair was around, these people had kept their ambitions in check, toeing the line obediently—hard to tell who was loyal and who wasn’t.
But the moment trouble arose, their true colors became crystal clear.
"Me?"
Morgan’s face registered surprise.
Whether in terms of influence or capability, he paled in comparison to those ranked above him.
That was precisely why he had been placed at the bottom of the hierarchy.
"That’s right."
Camilla nodded, her cool voice laced with unspoken meaning.
"From start to finish, you were the only one who stood firm.
This task is yours alone."
Her words praised Morgan while simultaneously serving as a slap in the face to many others.
Almost instantly, discomfort flickered across several expressions in the room.
Grandpa Luther observed their reactions with sharp eyes.
Camilla knew the warning had landed.
After a few brief remarks, she helped Grandpa to his feet and escorted him out.
"You did well today, Camilla." I am very proud of you.
I knew you had this in you that’s why I selected you for my son.
Thanks Grandpa.
"But’s it’s nothing compares to what you and Sinclair have," Camilla helped the old man settle into the car.
"Once everything is settled, I’ll have Lawyer Zion transfer the shares back to Sinclair’s name."
Only then would she feel at ease.
"What’s given to you is yours," Grandpa Luther shook his head, forcing a lighthearted tone.
"If Sinclair ever mistreats you in the future, don’t bother asking me—just kick him out."
Compared to Camilla’s devotion to Sinclair what was the Luther Corporation worth?
"But, Grandpa..."
Camilla opened her mouth to refuse, only to be cut off.
"The rain’s getting heavier," Grandpa Luther patted her hand gently, speaking slowly.
"I’m worried something might happen to Sinclair.
Go to the cemetery and bring him back."
The cemetery?
Camilla’s gaze sharpened as she instantly realized which cemetery grandpa meant.
She bit her lip, her face etched with concern.
"I’ll go right now.
You—" "I’m tired," grandpa Luther interjected, his voice weary.
"I’ll head back to the old house to rest." Camilla turned to Uncle Carlos.
"Uncle Carlos, please take care of Grandpa.
I’ll pick up Sinclair and then meet you at the old house."
Though Grandpa Luther’s expression remained unreadable, she could see the tension in his posture.
What had happened today would be a heavy blow to anyone.
Uncle Carlos nodded reassuringly.
"Don’t worry, Madam.
I’ll look after him."
Please inform the moment you get to the old mansion.
"Also, please tell grandpa I will bring Sinclair back home. And I will make sure nothing happens to him."
