Chapter 356: Go find Tiffany at her place
"Madam," Luke called back almost immediately.
"I knocked for quite a while, but Miss Tiffany didn’t respond."
Without Madam’s permission, he didn’t dare take any further action.
No response.
Since Fanny lived alone, she had always been a light sleeper.
Under normal circumstances, this situation would never occur.
Camilla’s fingers tightened around her phone, her voice turning noticeably colder.
"Use the passcode I’ll give you—open the door immediately and check inside."
"Understood."
Camilla relayed the code to Tiffany’s apartment.
Luke entered it without hesitation, and the door clicked open.
"Madam, Miss Tiffany isn’t home," Luke stepped inside, flicked on the lights, and scanned the room.
His fingers brushed over the thin layer of dust on the entryway table and dining surface before he checked the electricity meter.
A flicker of understanding passed through his eyes.
"To be precise, she hasn’t been back for at least three or four days."
Three or four days, at the very least.
Does that mean Fanny never returned home after leaving my house?!
Camilla had no reason to doubt Luke’s professional competence. Her pupils instantly turned icy cold.
Why would Fanny lie to her?
The ominous premonition in her heart grew stronger by the second.
Taking a deep breath to steady herself, Camilla recalled that Tiffany had driven over that day and immediately said, "I’ll give you Fanny’s license plate number.
Have your team track the vehicle’s current location as quickly as possible."
At the very least, they needed to confirm whether something had happened to Fanny in the car.
"Understood," Luke responded promptly.
"I’ll get right on it."
"Sweetheart, Fanny clearly told me she made it home safely that day. Why would she lie to me?"
After hanging up the phone, Camilla felt a gnawing unease.
Her hands, hanging limply at her sides, clenched into fists unconsciously, her nails digging into her palms without her even noticing.
"Could something terrible have happened to her already?"
Car accidents, kidnappings—every horrifying scenario from her earlier nightmares and darkest thoughts surged through Camilla’s mind.
When she finally snapped back to reality, her pupils trembled slightly.
Arlo had vanished from this world—Fanny’s death trap should have been resolved by now.
Before Sinclair could respond, the phone on the bedside table suddenly rang.
Camilla instinctively glanced over.
Ramsey’s name flashed across the screen.
Her brows furrowed slightly.
Why would Ramsey call at this hour?
Has something else happened in the Luther Family?
She had to admit, lately, she’d been as jumpy as a startled bird.
Sinclair’s strikingly handsome face remained expressionless, but his hand covered Camilla’s, gently loosening her tightly clenched fist.
"President Luther," Ramsey’s voice came through the phone.
"Miss Tiffany got into a taxi and suddenly disappeared."
Ramsey relayed every detail he’d gathered from the Calvin family to Sinclair.
The room was so quiet that Camilla could hear Ramsey’s words clearly through the receiver.
Her pupils constricted sharply, and her face paled instantly.
"Mmm."
Sinclair’s arm around Camilla tightened slightly.
"You stay with the Calvin family and mobilize all the Luther Family’s resources to assist in the search."
Between the combined influence of the Calvin and Luther families, turning the entire capital upside down wasn’t beyond the realm of possibility.
But whether they would find Fanny—or something else—no one could say for certain.
Camilla had clearly considered the worst-case scenario, her anxious eyes flickering toward Sinclair.
"Sweetheart—"
"Don’t be afraid," Sinclair murmured, pressing a reassuring kiss to her cheek, his deep voice steady and grounding.
"Tiffany is just an ordinary person.
If someone went to such lengths to target her, they must have another motive."
His sharp, dark eyes narrowed slightly.
"Most likely, this is about you—or Calvin."
"Until they get what they want, Tiffany won’t be in any real danger."
Camilla nodded repeatedly. She could only hope that was true.
Sinclair bent his head again, pressing another kiss to the crown of her hair before pulling her tightly into his arms, offering silent comfort.
In the shadows where Camilla couldn’t see, those pitch-black eyes staring into the void narrowed sharply, their gaze icy and unyielding. What he feared most was the former scenario.
Selfish or heartless—call it what you will—he would stop at nothing to keep Camilla out of danger.
Camilla knew the sweetheart was right, yet her heart refused to settle. ——
Meanwhile, in a villa on the west side of the city...
Dozens of people sat hunched over computers, their focus razor-sharp.
One group hammered away at their keyboards, lines of code scrolling rapidly across their screens as they worked tirelessly to restore the deliberately sabotaged surveillance system.
Another team combed through the newly recovered data at double speed, scanning for any suspicious vehicles.
Standing behind them, Calvin took a slow drag from his cigarette, his strikingly handsome face dark with fury.
If this turned out to be the work of those parasites from the Calvin family, he swore he’d wipe them off the face of the earth.
His eyes, usually brimming with amusement, were now glacial—so piercing that no one dared meet his gaze.
A closer look would reveal something deeper beneath the surface: a flicker of guilt.
If not for his computer, perhaps Fanny would never have been in danger.
Ramsey caught a certain look on Calvin’s face, and a trace of emotion flickered in his eyes.
Whoever dared to lay a hand on Miss Tiffany had managed to offend two people they absolutely shouldn’t have.
They might as well start planning their next life now.
Just then, a sudden voice cut through the tension, drawing everyone’s attention.
"Mr. Calvin, we’ve found something!"
Calvin paused mid-drag of his cigarette and immediately strode over.
Ramsey and Jey followed close behind.
"This taxi and the Volkswagen were spotted near the location of Miss Tiffany’s phone.
Especially this taxi—its appearance coincides with the time you were on the call with her."
Calvin’s expression remained unchanged, but his eyes burned with barely restrained fury.
"Find out everything about these two vehicles and the people inside them.
Now."
"Yes, sir." Ramsey and Jey turned to their respective teams, barking orders.
The atmosphere was thick with tension, cold and unyielding.
At that same moment, the Luther Family estate was no different.
"Madam," Luke’s voice carried an unusual gravity.
"Miss Tiffany was in a car accident a few days ago.
The vehicle was severely damaged and is currently impounded at the local police station," Calvin paused briefly before continuing.
"As for the hit-and-run driver, according to authorities, they vanished without a trace.
No leads whatsoever."
Luke relayed the details he’d gathered to Camilla.
The first half of that nightmare had turned out to be horrifyingly real.
Camilla’s already pale complexion grew even more ashen.
"Get a team to investigate immediately—every suspicious vehicle that entered or exited the accident route that day," she said, pressing her lips together to steady herself.
"And remember, speed is crucial." "Understood," Luke responded before ending the call.
"Sweetheart," Camilla turned to Sinclair, her voice icy.
"I need someone to track down every person Fany has been in contact with these past few days."
"Done," Without another word, Sinclair reached for the laptop on the bedside table and placed it in front of Camilla.
His slender, well-defined fingers moved deftly across the keyboard as he wrapped an arm around her.
Lines of intricate code scrolled rapidly across the screen, a dizzying blur of symbols and commands.
A few minutes later, he leaned in slightly, his voice low and reassuring.
"All set, sweetheart."
