Chapter 193: Chapter 193: Her Glory

The parents had paid the fees, their spirits invigorated as they left.

Originally, the kids with poor grades and worse personalities had improved a lot after less than two months in the supplementary class, leaving their parents feeling as though they had won the lottery.

These children from decent families did not leave with their parents.

Some of them had brought cameras, saying they wanted to stay and take pictures, and also suggesting that they take the opportunity, before the school building closed, to play table tennis and work out a bit.

In fact, aside from taking pictures, these students had no intention of playing table tennis or exercising...

What they really wanted was to stay and observe... how Meng Chuyue and Shen Ci would enroll students for the second term of their supplementary class.

Shen Ci and Meng Chuyue were set to start university in September; the learning mode for the second term was sure to differ from the first term.

When asked about it in the past, they were secretive and wouldn’t say. They could only wait and see today to solve the mystery.

Early that day, people had already come for enrollment.

The advertised enrollment time on the posters was August 20th at 10 AM. A few people came and then left, but the majority stayed, eating fruit salad and enjoying the air conditioning while they waited.

Close to 10 o’clock, Meng Chuyue and Shen Ci took their seats at separate tables, receiving the students who had reserved a spot and the newcomers who hadn’t.

As they planned to close up after this term, the supplementary class, originally enrolling only fifty students, expanded its intake to eighty.

Reservations were already full, and now there were only thirty spots left for new students...

Really not many.

Less than two hours later, the enrollment process was over.

Fruit Store no longer had any significance, so Meng Chuyue decided to close it immediately.

There were still more than two thousand pounds of fruit in stock at the Fruit Store. She decided to start a sale at 40% off, closing the business once everything was sold.

The students who had stayed behind to watch the excitement heard and offered to help.

They had all "worked" a day at the Fruit Store before and were still not over the fun they’d had.

Now they had a chance to contribute, how could they miss out?

As soon as they had hung out the sign for the 40% off sale, Meng Lixing arrived with Meng Yajun and Meng Yuzhu.

Meng Yajun and Meng Yuzhu had not taken Shen Ci’s advice to reserve spots for the second term of the class and had thought that they would surely secure a place since today was the first day of enrollment. So, they had waited for Meng Lixing to come over from Xiaoliu Village in the morning before nonchalantly arriving together.

The reason Meng Lixing made this trip was he wanted to try and mend his relationship with Meng Chuyue.

He had a simple thought – however capable Meng Chuyue might be, a girl could hardly manage everything alone; perhaps after this period of struggle, she might see the benefits of having family to rely on.

Even if she hadn’t come around yet, he would make a good gesture, clear the air, so that if one day she changed her mind, she could return at once without losing face by being stubborn.

Meng Lixing, now, had ceased to care about Meng Chuyue’s money. He simply wished to bask in her glory.

He tentatively called out, "Chuyue."

Meng Chuyue turned her head to glance at them, then walked over calmly, "Is there something you need, Grandpa Meng?"

Ending relations did not mean pretending not to recognize each other; Meng Chuyue decided to treat them as typical fellow villagers.

Meng Lixing didn’t expect her to address him like that, his heart aching bitterly,

But since they had disowned each other, her willingness to address him so was already giving him face. His old face flushed, he said, "I’ve brought Yajun and Yuzhu here for enrollment."

Meng Chuyue spoke indifferently, "You’re too late, this term is already full."

Yuzhu became frantic upon hearing this, "You’re lying, today is just the first day of enrollment, it’s only noon, how could it be full already?"

Meng Chuyue, unruffled, treated her as a stranger, calmly explained, "This term we’re taking eighty students. We already had fifty reservations, and today we’re only taking thirty more. The enrollment process ended half an hour ago."
