Chapter 1175 Guilt

Chapter 1175: Chapter 1175 Guilt

"What are you doing?"

"I am going to attend to Auntie Tang."

"Why are you flustered? Did something happen to Auntie Tang?" Even if he didn’t like her, she was still his woman, so Situ Yongjie had to show some concern.

The maid trembled with fear in her heart, and whispered: "General, Auntie Tang is perfectly fine, she’s not sick at all."

"Really?"

"Yes."

"If that’s the case, you all step aside, I’ll go in to see her." With that, Situ Yongjie took a step forward to enter.

Though frightened to death, the maid mustered her courage and blocked Situ Yongjie’s way: "General, Auntie is not properly dressed, perhaps I should go in first to help her with her attire and appearance before you enter."

"We’ve been a couple for years, it’s not like I haven’t seen Auntie Tang without makeup, it’s unnecessary to fuss over it." With that, Situ Yongjie again tried to step into the room.

"General, don’t go in." The maid, in a panic, blocked him again.

This time, Situ Yongjie was irritated; he sensed something was definitely wrong. He glared fiercely at the maid, commanding: "Get out of my way."

"General, Auntie looks haggard, it’s really not suitable for you to see her."

"Move aside." Situ Yongjie’s voice was commanding yet without anger.

Actually, Situ Yongjie didn’t want to come to the Couple’s Courtyard, but for some unknown reason, Xuexue, who was always at odds with Auntie Tang, suddenly came to persuade him to reconcile with her, saying things like "a day as a couple is a hundred days of grace," especially when there are children involved.

Situ Yongjie thought it made sense; though he didn’t like Auntie Tang, the fact that they had children was undeniable, and they had all grown up. It wasn’t possible to put them back into Auntie Tang’s womb, so with the belief in family harmony bringing prosperity, he decided to come and make amends with Auntie Tang.

Moreover, deep down, he felt some guilt for neglecting Auntie Tang for months.

Since Lady Li had passed away, Auntie Tang had been managing the General’s Mansion.

Yet, he had been indifferent to Auntie Tang, and reflecting on this, Situ Yongjie’s guilt deepened.

The General gave the order.

"Yes!"

The maids, though apprehensive, reluctantly moved aside, thinking, this is bad; Auntie Tang will be in trouble, and they, the servants, wouldn’t fare well either.

He instructed the guards to wait outside.

Situ Yongjie hesitated no longer and strode into the room. To his surprise, as soon as he stepped inside, a commotion arose...

Thinking of this, Situ Yongjie could no longer contain himself; he kicked the door open...

"Bang...!"

The loud noise startled Doctor Wang and Auntie Tang.

"Gen... General, please... spare... spare... me!"

Situ Yongjie was furious, his mind blank, and he instinctively drew his treasured sword from his waist, charging forward...

"You damn servant, after freeloading in the General’s Mansion all these years, you dare to do such a disgraceful thing behind my back, you heartless, faithless wretch, today I’ll cut you down."

Situ Yongjie shouted furiously, brandishing his treasured sword towards Doctor Wang...

Seeing this, Doctor Wang, terrified, leapt out of bed and ran barefoot.

The guards outside didn’t know what was going on, only hearing the General in a rage. In a flash, they saw a figure zip past them...

The speed was faster than a rabbit fleeing.

Hot on his heels, Situ Yongjie chased out the door with his treasured sword, cursing: "You scoundrel, today I’ll definitely cut you down."
