Rebirth: Pampered by the Lord
Chapter 1075: Thug

Chapter 1075: Chapter 1075: Thug

In the darkness, Xuexue let out a cold laugh. The Mo family, even in the face of death, still didn’t know when to restrain themselves and were actually trying to scheme against her. Truly, wishful thinking.

With a forceful step, her figure vanished into the vast night.

Ever-Victorious Gambling House.

Tonight, as usual, the entrance of the gambling house was bustling with people, coming and going without end.

A few thuggish-looking men stood menacingly next to the main entrance.

These individuals were there to handle any troublemakers at the gambling house, known as the Protectors.

Within the crowd, two figures—one tall and one short—flowed with the stream of people and entered the gambling house.

Those two were none other than Xuexue and Little Tiger.

Since the last time Little Tiger had shown his face here, today he appeared differently—not in his previous three- or four-year-old form but in his altered guise of a five- or six-year-old, following tightly behind Xuexue like a proper pageboy.

As for Xuexue, she was dressed smartly in men’s clothing. Though her frame was petite, her refined features lent her the appearance of a handsome young gentleman.

Xuexue raised her gaze and scanned the gambling house. At this hour, though the sky had only just turned dark, the place was already filled with patrons.

The sound of dice shaking and shouts echoed repeatedly; the whole hall was lively and bustling with activity.

From the ground floor, one could look up to see the second floor also teeming with rowdy voices.

It seemed the gambling house’s business was booming.

Little Tiger gave her a small tug and whispered, "Hey, stop looking around like that. Everyone else is gambling while you’re the only one wandering all over the place. Haven’t you noticed? Those thugs are watching you!"

Xuexue glanced up and indeed saw that the gambling house’s thugs were staring at her with predatory eyes.

"Sit down already," Little Tiger urged, pulling her to a nearby table and seating her.

To avoid drawing any unnecessary attention, Xuexue joined the crowd and placed bets like everyone else.

The croupier grabbed the dice cup and shook it vigorously, producing loud *clack-clack-clack* sounds, shouting as he did so, "Place your bets! Final call!"

Some gamblers bet big, others bet small. Though the scene was chaotic, every pair of eyes was fixed on the croupier’s dice cup as it shook up and down, their faces tense with anticipation.

"Big! Big! Big!"

"Small! Small! Small!"

The murmurs of gamblers filled the room, each hoping their wager would win.

From within the space realm, Tao Hong’s voice whispered, "Master, go small."

Without hesitation, Xuexue placed a one-hundred-tael silver note on the "small" side.

The croupier’s eyes lit up—what luck, a new high roller!

Indeed, while the gambling house was packed with patrons, most bet only several taels at a time; it was rare for someone like Xuexue to wager a whole hundred taels in one go. She was undoubtedly a big customer.

*Bang!*

The dice cup was slammed heavily onto the table, and the croupier swiftly lifted the lid off.

Everyone leaned forward to catch a glimpse...

In an instant, the crowd erupted into contrasting reactions.

"Whoa! It’s big again!"

"Amazing! I’ve won again! I’ve won again!" someone cheered, laughing jubilantly amidst the crowd.

"Ugh! What rotten luck—big again?" another lamented, hanging his head and bemoaning his streak of misfortune.

Gritting her teeth, Xuexue glared into the spatial void, directing her anger at Tao Hong. "You pesky little ghost! Didn’t you say it would be small? Why is it big?"

Tao Hong’s voice echoed back, filled with grievance: "Master, I swear it wasn’t my fault. At first, it really was small, but somehow, when the lid was uncovered, it changed to big!"

"Useless excuses for your incompetence," Xuexue snapped.

Slowly, Tao Hong floated out from the void, unraveling before them and standing quietly by their side.

Naturally, as Tao Hong emerged, only Xuexue and Little Tiger could see her; she remained invisible to everyone else in the gambling house.
