Chapter 1537: Chapter 1509 Wendy Expresses Great Anger

After leaving Yuzo Joel’s place and parting with those sisters, Arlong and Kiara left.

Kiara, noticing the redness around his eyes, asked.

"Why didn’t you see them off?"

"She didn’t let me..."

Kiara nodded, "She’s very smart."

Kiara was somewhat satisfied with Flora Jim’s behavior this time, leaving each other with a good impression was better than parting as enemies after all the love had been exhausted.

Arlong felt an indescribable sensation in his heart. His first romance had been so tumultuous, having experienced love, hatred, frustration, struggle, and effort only to end without a result, yet he didn’t seem to feel too upset.

"Young man, you have a long road ahead of you. There’s no need to view the outcome as so important. Enjoying a complete process is nice too. At least you parted in the most mature way, which is better than spending the rest of your life holding grudges against each other."

Don’t take anyone too seriously, letting others go is also to bypass oneself. Flora Jim learned this lesson after a metaphorical death, and it wasn’t too late.

"Sis, I really want to find someone who understands me, just like you and my brother-in-law... Being able to reciprocate and then walk hand in hand together would be wonderful."

But reality is just too cruel.

"Not bad, the fact that you can speak such words shows that my efforts as your sister haven’t been in vain; you’ve grown up."

Kiara was relieved, the green and naive kid had grown up a bit and began to feel puzzled too.

"Arlong, I can’t guarantee that your next relationship will go smoothly. It might even be more troublesome than this one—"

"Sis! Can’t you comfort someone who has just been through a breakup?" Arlong was stung by her harsh truth.

That was surely his sister, sharp-tongued as ever!

"What’s there to be comforted about? Breaking up isn’t necessarily a bad thing. She will find someone more caring than you in the future, which is better than being stuck with a fickle guy like you. Think about it, how much time could you really spend with her if you were together? It’s just like my husband, that deadbeat, whom you can’t see once a year—"

"Dad!"

Wendy in Kiara’s arms pointed ahead and called out.

"Right, your dad is exactly that kind of bad egg."

Looking up, Mario Yuno’s car had come to a stop. His important meeting had just been unexpectedly canceled, and after a dominant call from his wife, he hurried over.

As soon as Kiara saw him approaching, she switched from a complaining state to a role of a virtuous wife and mother in a second and went to greet him with Wendy in her arms.

"Husband~"

Mario Yuno was smitten again.

"Have you finished with your work?" he asked.

"All taken care of. I was just expressing to Arlong how much I miss you, and then, what a coincidence~"

"Miss~" Wendy nodded in sync.

The mother and daughter duo performed so perfectly it almost made Camden die of cuteness. After taking his child and kissing his beloved wife, he felt he was truly the winner in life, incredibly happy. Then he looked up to see his brother-in-law’s astonished expression.

"What’s up, Arlong?" Mario Yuno asked.

"I’ve just witnessed what they call a ’hypocrite’..."

When it came to speaking white lies, he only bowed down to his own sister!

"I didn’t hear you clearly." Kiara smiled tenderly.

Arlong shuddered and quickly corrected himself, "I mean to say, my sister has taught me a lesson by example, covering up the model process of a harmonious family, which has benefited me greatly. I will surely apply these skills in my new romance..."

Kiara nodded in approval, that sounded like human talk.

Leaning on Camden, she couldn’t help but feel a profound sense of contentment with the passage of time.

Mario Yuno caught the implication in Arlong’s words and exchanged glances with Kiara, asking silently if they had broken up.

Kiara nodded. "Yes, we parted amicably."

"Let’s go, Brother-in-law is free this afternoon. How about I treat you to a big meal to celebrate properly?"

Mario Yuno never hid his disdain for people like Flora Jim. He wasn’t nearly as diplomatic as Kiara. If he liked something, he liked it. If it annoyed him, it annoyed him. Shaking off this clingy pest was nothing short of a blessing; he was just short of setting off a string of fireworks to celebrate.

After the meal, Arlong went back to his camp, and by the time they returned home, it was already dark. Mario Yuno was bathing Wendy, with Kiara leaning against the door frame, watching.

"Sigh, enjoy bathing her while you can. Soon, she’ll be too big for us to do it anymore," Mario Yuno lamented as he stood in the bathroom adorned with a height chart and a weight scale, surprised to see that his daughter had grown yet again.

Wendy splashed around in her own bath Bucket, while Mario Yuno leaned against it, reflecting on how quickly time was flying.

"Indeed, before we know it, we’re getting old," Kiara mused, feeling especially reflective that day.

"Old? My daughter-in-law is still very young!" Mario Yuno protested. She was six years younger than him and looked even younger. She could pass for a high school student in the streets, whereas he had blinked and suddenly turned 30.

"It’s the heart that’s growing old. Did you see how much Arlong has grown? And today, when I mentioned the younger generation, I felt a deep sense of time passing..."

"Who did you mention?"

"Yena Jim. That girl has a certain charm; I find her quite likeable."

"Daughter-in-law, I’ve noticed you’re a really strange person."

"What’s so strange about me?"

Kiara checked herself out in the mirror. Hmm, still Ultimate Beauty.

"On one hand, you’re generous. If someone crosses you, you ensure they deeply regret it. But on the other hand, you’re also forgiving towards certain people, like Molly Palmer. I absolutely detest her, and then there’s Flora Jim. Even when she’s digging her own grave, you still go out of your way to save her... If I were you, I would’ve left her to her fate."

Mario Yuno had a strong distaste for women who lacked integrity, but likewise, he didn’t favor men with questionable morals either. It all stemmed from his emotional hygiene; seeing people muddle through made him instinctively nauseated.

"After all, I’m a businessman now. In business, maximizing profits is what matters. If you only do things according to your own preferences, then can you even call it running a business?"

Mario Yuno pinched her nose playfully. "So, are you doing business with me too? Huh? My little devil?"

"Cough, cough!" Kiara choked.

She had almost forgotten that this guy could read lips. Though he couldn’t hear her when she complained during the day, he must have seen it.

"That’s a term of endearment, I swear on the Light bulb!" Kiara pointed at the ceiling.

Mario Yuno moved a few steps away, silently. "Daughter-in-law, don’t just point at anything, all of this is family property!"

Kiara chuckled. Mario Yuno loved her cheeky attitude. He pulled her in for a kiss, but the little one in the bath Bucket wasn’t having it, pawing at the water with her chubby hands.

Hey hey hey, what happened to giving your child a bath?

What about the promise that there’d be no more chances later, and you had to cherish it now?

The little one just wanted to enjoy a warm hug from dad and mom. Who wants to see you two old lovebirds feed each other dog food?

"Almost forgot about our daughter." No sooner had Mario Yuno said this than he felt a warm splash against his pants... The angered Wendy didn’t hold back as she furiously shovelled water towards her dad who was putting his daughter second to his wife.

"Well, seems like she’s inherited your knack for holding grudges," Mario Yuno chuckled, to which Kiara haughtily snorted.

"She’s obviously like you!"

"Alright, alright, like us. Haha!" He reveled in the feeling of pride.

Wendy felt utterly wronged. Could you two not be so disgustingly affectionate?
