Chapter 1492 - 1464: Is There a Psychic Connection or Not?
Chapter 1492: Chapter 1464: Is There a Psychic Connection or Not?
Facing Yuzo Joel’s question, Mario Yuno’s answer surprised him.
"It’s not her fault, it’s me who didn’t take care of her properly, I must bring her back, no matter when she will always be my wife, Willa’s mother."
Yuzo Joel nodded in satisfaction, good, his daughter had not made a mistake in judging him.
But in his heart, Mario Yuno added, if he saw that damned Fox Cat, he would tear it apart, his daughter-in-law was always innocent, but Fox Cat could not escape being detestably involved.
"Since it’s already been confirmed that my daughter-in-law’s disappearance is related to JR, then I have a way to find her clues."
"You?"
"Yes, but you have to let me use Aka."
"You want to use Aka to lock down Molly Palmer?" Yuzo Joel understood.
Mario Yuno nodded, that was exactly what he meant.
"I’ve thought about that, but... Aka and Molly Palmer, although twins, have been at odds since childhood, at such a time Molly Palmer will not help Aka, let alone tell her the truth."
Yuzo Joel had also thought about using the Molly Palmer lead, but it was too difficult.
At this point, even Fox Cat had lost contact, so finding Molly Palmer would be even more mysterious; even if they managed to contact her, why would she want to help Aka?
"We can only treat a dead horse as if it’s alive—I can only gamble once and see if the psychic connection between me and my daughter-in-law is effective. If I plant clues, let’s see if she’ll cooperate and respond to them from both ends."
"When did you two ever have psychic connection stuff?"
"From the moment she left home, I think we must have had it."
"..." Confidence is good, but this sort of seeing is believing thinking made Yuzo Joel feel the gambler-like craziness of Mario Yuno.
The two of them discussed the search plan and, after reaching an agreement, Mario Yuno asked.
"How has Willa been these past two days? Has she been crying? I want to see her."
He had been searching for clues tirelessly day and night, neglecting the child, but he felt at ease placing her with his father-in-law—
Edward Farmbright rushed in, panicked.
"Not good, Wendy is gone!"
"What?!" Yuzo Joel and Mario Yuno exclaimed in unison.
"I just couldn’t get her to sleep today, no matter how much I tried, so I soothed her, and somehow, I fell asleep... When I woke up, she wasn’t on the bed anymore!"
Wendy hadn’t seen her father or mother for 2 days, and the day before, she cried herself hoarse.
Yuzo Joel felt sorry for her, so he asked Edward Farmbright to hypnotize her to sleep, and then continue when she awoke. The little girl slept all one day and couldn’t sleep the next, as if she vaguely understood something and quietly stopped crying, but appeared listless.
Just as Edward Farmbright was lulling her to sleep without having soothed the girl, he fell asleep himself, and woke up to find the child missing, their blood running cold. Panic-stricken, he ran over to deliver the news.
The lady of the house was currently missing and if the child was lost as well, Mario Yuno might as well not be alive, but he quickly calmed down.
His father-in-law’s house was a two-story villa with decent security measures; while it couldn’t stop a professional like himself, it would pose no problem for an ordinary petty thief.
In the two days that Kiara was not home, not only was Wendy staying with Yuzo Joel, but the "Beautiful Lady" had also been brought over; if someone broke in, "Beautiful Lady" would undoubtedly bark.
With this in mind, Mario Yuno steadied his mind, "Where’s ’Beautiful Lady’? Let her help search."
"...your magical dog has disappeared too!"
The world became fantastical.
A child, not yet a year old and unable to walk, had disappeared into thin air along with a dog!
Mario Yuno didn’t believe in the evil, and he followed Edward Farmbright ’Farmbright Farmer’ to the room where Wendy had vanished. In his anxiety, he forgot to sit in his wheelchair again; that thing was too slow, slower than walking. The safety of mother and daughter always touched Mario’s heart, making him forget everything else.
This children’s room was specially reserved by Yuzo Joel for Wendy, with colors and decorations perfectly suited for a child’s growth and development at that age.
Indeed, Wendy was nowhere to be seen on the princess castle-shaped bunk bed. Mario checked the balcony and the bathroom and then, at the door, bent down to pick up a strand of dog hair.
"The Beautiful Lady took her out."
"..." Edward Farmbright ’Farmbright Farmer’ felt stimulated, envious of the other’s sharp eyes. He had stared hard for a long while and hadn’t noticed any clues. Indeed, when it came to searching, it was best to leave it to professional military dogs.
The children’s room was on the Second Floor. Mario looked down the stairs and thought it unlikely that his daughter could have crawled down by herself. So—
He turned his gaze towards the elevator. Edward Farmbright ’Farmbright Farmer’ shook his head.
"It’s not very likely. A child who can’t walk and a dog, even if they piled up, they couldn’t reach the buttons. And even if they did reach them, how could a little girl who can’t walk possibly know which button to press?"
"Willa wouldn’t have a problem," Mario said, walking towards the elevator. "She’s gone downstairs."
Edward Farmbright ’Farmbright Farmer’’s beady eyes widened. What exactly was going on? Was the child unnaturally smart, or had the Junior Leader’s dog become spirit-like?!
Mario estimated the height of the buttons. "She must have ridden on Beautiful Lady’s back and stretched her hand to reach the keypad. It’s also possible that Beautiful Lady stood up to press it, but if that were the case, it would be difficult. Willa still can’t talk, so I guess it would be quite hard for her to communicate with Beautiful Lady."
"...Even if one day your little prodigy commandeered your magical dog to conquer the world using sign language, I wouldn’t be surprised."
Both Edward Farmbright ’Farmbright Farmer’ and Yuzo Joel felt a spark of hope in their hearts and had great confidence that Kiara would return home safely. Not one of this family of three was ordinary. A child not even a year old was able to run away with her own dog. One had to have faith in the Kid’s father and mother. Things others could not achieve, this family of three might well create miracles.
Mario went downstairs to check each room. Apart from the room where he had been conversing with Yuzo Joel, there was also Flora Jim’s treatment room, which the child definitely could not enter.
So all that was left was—
Mario narrowed his eyes and walked to the living room balcony curtain, pulling it aside. Indeed, he saw the balcony door leading Outside ajar. He witnessed a scene he would never forget.
His daughter, with a baby bottle strapped to her back and holding a box of Pancakes in her hand, was sitting on the First Floor balcony of the living room, her back to him. Beautiful Lady also sat, maintaining the same direction and posture as her little master, their two back heads facing the same way—cute but with a tinge of melancholy.
From the Second Floor to the First was a 2-minute journey for an adult, but for such a small Child, it must have been an extraordinary odyssey, considering she couldn’t even walk!
After such effort to get downstairs, she probably wanted to sneak out to find her parents. The direction she was sitting was towards the main door, as if waiting for the right moment to bolt.
She even took snacks for the road...
Mario had no doubt that, had he not found her, his daughter might really have seized the moment when someone opened the door to slip out with Beautiful Lady and perhaps even make her way back Home.
Though the journey was long, for a genius little girl who had her thoughts from the first full moon, it might not have been so difficult, especially with Beautiful Lady by her side.
Beautiful Lady, hearing the door open, wagged her ears and turned her head. Seeing her master, she happily stuck out her tongue. When Wendy heard Beautiful Lady’s bark, she turned her head too. Seeing dad, she didn’t immediately cry but took a deep breath and, with her tender voice, called out.
"Daddy...where’s Mommy?"
Strictly speaking, this was the child’s first long sentence. Her dad should have been happy, but his eyes watered as he walked over and lifted his daughter into his arms.
"Mommy’s gotten a bit lost for now, but don’t worry, Daddy will bring her back very soon."
"Yes!" Wendy nodded vigorously, but the baby’s pretense of understanding didn’t last long—she burst into tears shortly afterward.
