She was just worrying about having nothing to do, and here came such a great opportunity. Kiara couldn’t have asked for more. She happily agreed, and her smile made Yuzo Joel happy too.

“It’s about time for dinner, shall we find a place to eat?” Kiara suggested, then added, “My treat!”

“Why bother with that? Let’s buy some stuff and cook it ourselves. Didn’t you say you wanted to cook me a meal? Just cook as a way to say thanks.”

Yuzo Joel was worried that Kiara would feel like she owed him a favor, so he deliberately chose a request he thought was simple for her to fulfill.

“My cooking is a bit… unpalatable,” Kiara said tactfully.

“No problem, your Third Senior Brother has the best stomach medicine ready for me, I’m not afraid!”

At worst, a few stomach pills and several trips to the restroom would sort everything out.

Yuzo Joel suggested enthusiastically, and Kiara thought, well, why not?

“So, let’s work together today. I’ll wash and chop the vegetables, and you can do the stir-frying. It’ll be a test of our master-apprentice rapport, right?”

When Mario Yuno anxiously rushed home, he saw his daughter-in-law, Kiara, with her face blackened and hair disheveled. Yuzo Joel was in a similar state, both standing downstairs in disarray, discussing something.

“Although the Fire is out, what about the house? The kitchen tiles have all been blackened by us, and the Smoke hasn’t cleared from the rooms. Camden will definitely nag when he gets back!”

“No worries, let’s just get a housekeeping company over here to clean up fast. As they say, ‘Money makes the world go round.’ We’ll have it done before your Green Military Dog Clan family member gets back, and we won’t tell him!”

Truthfully, Kiara wasn’t the main culprit this time; she was dragged into it by Yuzo Joel.

She was peeling Garlic when she noticed Yuzo Joel, apron-clad and serious, fussing over her pot, even providing commentary: “What brand is this pot? What voltage does it use?” He rattled off a speech that he had apparently looked up online, and Kiara listened with utmost respect.

He sounded like an expert, so Kiara continued peeling Garlic in peace, battering the cloves until they were in tatters. Suddenly, she heard a loud bang from Yuzo Joel’s direction, and turning around, she was greeted by billowing Smoke…

They rushed into the stairwell and frantically used the community-provided fire extinguisher, and even after they had finished, the place was still engulfed in Smoke. The two opened the windows and headed downstairs to discuss how to get rid of the evidence, only to be caught red-handed by Mario Yuno.
