Rebirth Of The Noble Mage Behind The Scenes -
Chapter 93 Trading (Part 1)
Chapter 93: Chapter 93 Trading (Part 1)
"Senior Claire, do you still remember what that symbol looked like? I can pay a price to exchange for it."
Seeing Claire pause, Anvis interjected; he was very interested in the symbol the girl mentioned.
"No need, we’ve adventured together before, sharing is only right."
The girl gently shook her head, her fingers moved swiftly, quickly tracing a complex and mysterious pattern in the air.
Gazing at the pattern in mid-air, Anvis felt a stir in his heart.
This pattern somewhat resembled several arcane symbols he had studied before, those belonging to the noble High Elf families.
However, this one was obviously far more intricate.
After both had committed it to memory, Claire lightly flipped her hand, erasing the pattern.
"After that, you saw what happened – those strange dark green amoebas suddenly invaded.
When the two girls jumped down from the tower top, the male elf with my perspective stepped in to protect them and sent them away through a teleportation array.
In the end, that male elf suddenly entered the shadows, and my perspective darkened as well."
Claire shrugged lightly, raised her hand to adjust the edge of the pure black academy cloak that hung down, showing a rare hint of helpless cuteness.
"Is that so..."
Anvis nodded and then hinted when he began to speak.
"Next time, if you, Claire, are going to explore any ruins, could you also call me along?"
"This..."
Hearing Anvis’s words, Claire instinctively frowned slightly, but then she thought of Anvis’s impressive performance earlier, hesitating for a moment before nodding gently.
"Alright, Anvis."
With his strength, even if he explored with me, as long as it wasn’t those particularly dangerous ruins, it should be fine...
"Ah! Sister Claire, me too! Take me with you as well!"
Seeing this, Pekara didn’t want to be left out and jumped in to make her presence felt.
"Stop that, Pekara, it’s dangerous, and you’re not strong enough yet."
Claire spoke with a hint of helplessness, her slender hand gently rubbing Pekara’s little head. The latter looked up cutely, her big purple eyes comfortably squinting.
Seeing this scene, Anvis reflected inwardly.
In just a few days’ time, to reach a certain relationship with the normally aloof Claire, this interpersonal skill was quite remarkable.
Without a certain level of fondness, Claire, who was distant by nature, would never have made such an affectionate gesture.
"Then, Sister Claire, Anvis, let’s cooperate! I can provide all kinds of exploration equipment and supplies, and I can also buy what you find at a high price or help you sell them."
Struggling lightly to free herself from the girl’s hand, Pekara raised her head, her cute little face serious.
"—Don’t judge by my looks, my surname is Kromir! My father is currently the Chairman of the White Rose Commerce Alliance!"
"Is that so?"
Anvis’s eyebrows lifted, a just-right hint of interest shimmering in his blue eyes, as if he was surprised by the girl’s identity.
Although he had already obtained the details of the girl’s background from the person in charge of his family at the academy.
He even knew that she was Baron Kromir’s twenty-seventh daughter to have her identity recognized.
Since her mother was currently favored and her talent was quite exceptional, her status in the heart of Baron Kromir was higher than that of the vast majority of his other offspring.
However, even with his understanding, Anvis would never let this knowledge remain just at the surface.
That would make him seem quite rude, and lacking in the grace expected of nobility.
"White Rose Commerce Alliance, the largest trading power within the Gloria Empire, with an annual flow of gold coins amounting to tens of millions.
Their trade spans the entire Yar Continent and even extends branches into the Underworld."
With a gentle tap of his index finger on the table, Anvis seemed to casually mention the specific strength of the White Rose Commerce Alliance.
This was intended for Claire to hear, since she was likely unaware of the major powers on the continent due to her personality.
As far as Anvis knew, Claire grew up under the care of a Seventh Rank Mage and spent most of her childhood within a Mage Tower.
The Mage treated her entirely as a Mage Apprentice, with various books replacing peers of her age, accompanying her throughout her childhood.
The experiences of her childhood led her to develop the characteristic aloofness and poor social skills common among Mages.
Even after arriving at Pamir Academy, her personality had not improved much.
However, although distant in demeanor, Claire’s nature was actually very kind.
Aware of the trouble her inherent Trait might inadvertently cause to her companions, she often intentionally kept her distance from others.
The cost was that it made her even more solitary.
"That’s right! And there’s even more! In fact, our commerce reaches as far as the Elf Continent across the distant Endless Sea, where we have secret trade routes."
Listening to Anvis’s words, Pekara nodded vigorously with pride, then added to the details Anvis had mentioned.
"Pekara, the word you just used was ’Commerce,’ not ’Commerce Alliance’?"
Anvis keenly caught the nuance in Pekara’s words; although it was only a difference in suffix, the gap between the two was enormous.
"That’s correct."
Pekara giggled but did not elaborate further. Instead, she deftly shifted the topic onto Anvis.
"Mr. Anvis, I have introduced myself already. As a gentleman, shouldn’t you also formally introduce yourself to the ladies?"
Upon hearing this, Claire also turned her head with interest, her blue eyes moving, and her long eyelashes fluttering slightly as she gazed at the pale, elegantly poised, perfect young man sitting opposite them.
She was somewhat curious about Anvis, for she perceived a very distinctive aura about him—
Graceful, noble, modest, well-mannered, and full of poise; he was like a noble born to high society.
Even though she hadn’t been around Anvis for long, she had to admit that he exhibited all the good qualities a noble should possess.
Such qualities could not have been cultivated by a mere ordinary family education.
Anvis paused, then smiled; he seemed to understand Pekara’s intention.
"Of course, my ladies, I shall also introduce myself formally."
As he spoke, he adjusted his clothes slightly, carefully smoothed out some minor wrinkles, then straightened his cravat adorned with a pale blue oval gemstone, enhancing his appearance to be even more perfect and dignified.
After completing these preparations, the young man looked at the two girls with all seriousness, his tone slow and clear as he began to speak.
"Anvis, Anvis Olivendi, a direct descendant of the Olivendi Family, and the fourth son of Duke Karlars."
"Wow!"
Upon hearing his introduction, Pekara exclaimed in surprise. Then, realizing her reaction, she hastily covered her mouth, turning her exclamation into a muffled sound.
She felt as though she had hit the jackpot!
