Chapter 195 Divine Favored Crystal
Chapter 195: Chapter 195 Divine Favored Crystal
"No! You dog of the Pseudo God! I curse you! You shall be abandoned by the Divine! Till you lose all your self!"
Accompanied by the reluctant hoarse roar of the Great Sacrificial Rite, the last trace of dark green was purified by the endless radiant white glow.
Afterward, the sunlight slowly faded away, revealing the blond, young Bishop within it.
Despite the victory, his condition was not truly unscathed.
At this moment, his eyes, radiating holy white light, showed a slight hint of pain. That stern young face and the simple black robe stitched with golden threads were now tainted with extremely stubborn dark green alien patterns.
These patterns continuously eroded his spirit, as if wanting to completely drag his mind into madness.
The Purple Moon in the sky reappeared. After being cleansed by two terrifying powers, the blue night sky seemed utterly translucent, not even a speck of dust remained.
The young Bishop moved slightly in the mid-air, seemingly wanting to move, but his figure staggered instantly, and he couldn’t help but half-kneel down.
Breathing slightly, he raised his hand, pressing on the Holy Scripture in front of his chest, and recited the sacred prayer.
"The Divine says, those who believe in me, shall be away from the darkness, and not be afflicted by its invasions."
As his words fell, a faint pure holy light emerged from him, temporarily covering the green-black patterns.
After temporarily suppressing the very troublesome injuries on his body, he stood straight once again and flew towards the direction deep in the mountains.
Before leaving, his glowing eyes coldly glanced at the hiding spot of Anvis and the other two.
A deep and terrifying aura and pressure came from that gaze, carrying a thick threat, seemingly warning those hiding not to follow.
.........
"Seems we were noticed, could it be the effect of Divine Favor? That’s quite unreasonable."
After he left, Anvis walked out from the hiding spot, staring towards the direction where the blond young Bishop had departed.
Whether it was a coincidence, the location of his target exactly matched the position of the Sealing Cave.
"Unfortunately, how long can this power, which does not belong to you, last?"
Shaking his head slightly, Anvis was unbothered by the somewhat fierce but fragile threat.
If someone else, less familiar with the Church Court, might have been intimidated by the almost Ninth Rank pressure coming with the gaze, becoming full of suspicion and doubt about whether the Bishop was hiding his real strength.
But Anvis was different; he was well-versed in all manners of methods used by the Church Court, especially the Divine Favor, upon which he had specifically conducted research.
This was a special kind of invisible crystal, claimed to be ’bestowed by the Divine’, encapsulating a force from the Divine.
When used, the crystal is shattered, releasing the Divine Power that merges into the Holy Position holder.
Not every Holy Position holder possesses Divine Favor, only certain special, well-known elites of the Church Court can gain Divine Favor by their side.
Furthermore, each Holy Position holder can carry at most one Divine Favored Crystal, the reason for this is unknown.
An Eighth Rank Holy Position holder receiving Divine Favor can elevate their power to be nearly comparable to a Ninth Rank for a temporary period.
But this power’s total amount and duration are limited; once the power is exhausted or the time exceeds fifteen minutes, it will revert back to its original form.
Considering the bizarre injuries inflicted by the Great Sacrificial Rite’s final strike on that young Bishop, once he loses the boost from Divine Favor, he will definitely not be a match for Jom.
"Let’s not bother with him, Evan, Jom, we head first to the cave where the Moon Calling Secret Sect’s ritual is held."
Gazing at the mountains under the night, Anvis waved his hand; he was unsure of the young Bishop’s goals, but acquiring the Seal earlier is always beneficial.
"Alright, Anvis, I’ll lead the way."
Evonne volunteered eagerly.
The mountains in the Dream World were anything but peaceful, especially at night. It was only after the three of them had killed several bizarre and high-ranking ethereal creatures that they finally caught sight of the massive Relief Cliff again.
Here, the tentacles on the relief seemed to sway slowly as if they were real, making one wonder if approaching them would result in a direct attack by the tentacles.
Walking among the mountains, Anvis looked at the relief wall from afar and sensed again the presence of a Bishop in the environment.
The Bishop’s aim seemed to be this place as well, and now, the traces left by the presence had already penetrated deep into the cave.
Unlike the ordinarily deserted environment of the regular world, today’s Dream World looked bustling.
Under the cliff, groups of Esoteric Practitioners were lying on the ground, and the entrance to the cave appeared as if it had undergone a fierce explosion, leaving it pitted.
.........
At this moment, deep inside the cave, a ceremonial ritual seemed to be underway.
Although the Great Priest was not present, he had appointed a regular Black Robed Priest to be in charge of tonight’s ritual ceremony before he left.
Just as Anvis had seen in his dreams, in that phosphorescent, damp cave, dense crowds of Alien God believers in tattered moss-green linen robes stood quietly, maintaining a strangely silent atmosphere.
Atop the ancient altar, engraved with bizarre patterns, on the rectangular stone platform, there were no offerings at the moment, just a chalice filled with an indescribable liquid.
This liquid was an incomparable aggregation of concepts—depth, desire, distortion, blood, temptation, pain... Gazing into the chalice, Perception would be filled with these concepts, not confined to any narrow definition of color or shape.
A circle of pale white candles surrounded it, but the flames of those candles appeared in a peculiar moss green as well.
The Priest in a black robe stood beside the altar, holding a scepter embedded with bizarre Black Stones, seemingly waiting for something to arrive.
Behind the altar, Anvis once saw in Evan’s Magic Tower the statue of a tentacled female deity carved from Heart of Amis, which had disappeared along with ’Evan,’ now eerily reappeared here.
Suddenly, a massive explosion sounded from the entrance of the cave.
The Alien God believers guarding there were obliterated in a terrifying radiance, and a figure enveloped in a thick and sacred glow suddenly appeared at the entrance.
Looking at the many Alien God believers in the sacrificial cave, the towering altar, the gem statue emitting a purple radiance, and the golden chalice placed in front of the statue, the young Bishop with golden hair revealed a cold smile.
"..."
Facing this unexpected visitor, in the cave, many Alien God believers turned around silently.
No one spoke, nor did anyone show any signs of surprise.
The countless eyes beneath the hood showed only a unified, bizarre fanaticism.
At the top of the altar, the Priest also silently raised the scepter in his hand high.
The ritual began——
.........
Outside the cave, Anvis and his two companions could not directly enter the cave.
There was something massive and invisible, reminiscent of twisted darkness, emitting Eighth Rank oppressive Magic Fluctuations, enveloping the outer side of the cave and completely blockading the entire space around the cave entrance.
Whether it was the rocks, soil, plants of the environment, or those lying Alien God believers, at this moment, all had completely disappeared within that twisted darkness.
It was hard to say whether this was to prevent outsiders from invading or to prevent something inside the cave from escaping.
Without needing Anvis to say more, Jom immediately took action to his fullest. A highly concentrated icy blue Magic sword light, carrying the terrifying extreme cold close to absolute Zero, instantly entered into that darkness.
