Rebirth: My Dear Little Wife Is So Scheming -
Chapter 913 What’s wrong?
Chapter 913: Chapter 913 What’s wrong?
Bai Xiao grabbed his wrist sharply.
He was puzzled by her sudden action, "What’s wrong?"
She continued to hold onto his wrist without letting go, staring at him silently.
An Zhiyuan still hadn’t realized something was amiss, "What’s wrong?"
The only sensitive topic earlier was the child.
Could it be that Bai Xiao doesn’t like children?
But Bai Xiao likes Little Tangyuan so much. He clearly remembers how Bai Xiao looked at Little Tangyuan, how she teased him—all of it, the loving expression on her face. If someone like Bai Xiao didn’t like children, he would truly start doubting his judgment.
Bai Xiao didn’t say a word. She just pushed his chest gently but firmly, turned away, and picked up the clothes scattered on the floor as she walked toward the bedroom.
"What’s for dinner tonight?"
The tone was calm but left him speechless.
An Zhiyuan glanced down at himself, then turned to look at her retreating back, completely clueless about what was going on. A faint sense of disinterest suddenly crept up.
Bai Xiao not losing her temper was even more frustrating; whenever something upset her, she’d hide it deep inside, leaving him to guess.
Walking straight into the bedroom, Bai Xiao was already getting dressed, just about to pull on a shirt. However, the moment her hand touched her clothes, she was suddenly knocked down. The shirt she had just draped over her body had disappeared, torn off by a large hand that flung it into the corner. A firm grip encircled her waist as if intent on bending her body; his other hand secured her tightly, pinning her heavily to the bed.
Bai Xiao was startled by his abrupt and reckless actions. The back of her head bumped against the man behind her as he scooped her up, pressing her entire body against his.
Bai Xiao could hear her own increasingly labored breathing as her fingers clawed at the bedsheets beneath her. In the next instant, her body was forcefully pinned against the bed.
The soft yet springy mattress trembled under the impact.
"Will you talk or not? What’s wrong with you?" The wicked tone in his voice made her heart skip a beat as he flipped her over, forcing her to lie face-up on the bed.
Her hands pressed against his chest, breathing unevenly: "How am I supposed to talk like this?"
He left her no room to breathe, siege tactics in full force.
"Then we’ll take our time. I have all the patience in the world." His hands rested on either side of her, his knees pressing against her legs to prevent resistance. His rough, unsteady voice brushed against her ear: "I like it when you don’t talk."
Bai Xiao felt aggrieved and heartbroken. She knew she had upset him, but the words wouldn’t come out. Her shoulders trembled lightly from suppressed sobs.
"No crying!" His domineering tone rang out, but the strength in his grip softened noticeably.
"You’re being unreasonable!" Bai Xiao tried to push him away.
In terms of physical strength, they weren’t in the same league.
If An Zhiyuan really wanted to push back, she’d have no way to resist.
Yet inside, all she felt was grievance.
And despair.
No woman’s despair could quite match hers.
Bai Xiao’s muffled sobbing left An Zhiyuan fumbling in panic.
"Don’t cry, don’t cry. If you don’t want to talk, I won’t ask anymore, alright?" He held her close, wiping her tears away, only to find that the more he wiped, the more tears streamed down.
A stab of pain shot through his chest.
What had he done?
Maybe his wife had things she didn’t want to say, and he had pushed her this far.
"I won’t ask anymore. I’ll never ask. Is that okay?"
An Zhiyuan understood clearly now that he was bound to this woman for life.
To love someone is perhaps to accept everything about her—her little temper, her secrets.
There will always be mysteries between them; that was inevitable.
