Rebirth: Love in the Apocalypse -
Chapter 104: Contribution System
Chapter 104: Contribution System
Mo Chenxuan didn’t answer right away.
On one hand, he felt his team members needed firearms, and on the other, he wanted to promote a culture of cause and effect.
Rather than spoon-feed his team, he wanted to motivate them to work hard to grasp what they want.
After thinking about it, Mo Chenxuan looked at Qin Wu with solemn eyes.
"Let’s establish a contribution system."
"Contribution system..." Qin Wu muttered but soon nodded in agreement.
"Let’s open a shop in our compound." The man started and quickly continued.
"The shop will be exclusive to our team members and it will have two modes of payment. The first mode is crystal cores and the other is contribution points."
"Crystal cores can buy ordinary things like food, water, clothes, toiletries and such but things like weapons, bullets, and gas will require contribution points. What do you think?"
"I agree." Qin Wu immediately nodded.
Although she and Mo Chenxuan had more resources than they would ever need, they couldn’t just give them away without asking for anything in return.
"We should also set a cap to the amount of goods that a person can purchase within a specified period." Qin Wu said.
After all, they didn’t want people to take advantage of them by reselling their goods at a higher price in the base market.
"The base adjusted some of the food and water prices because of the zombification incident. Let’s get the adjusted prices and reference it when marking prices for our shop."
After that, the two went to the study and began working.
Time passed and before they knew it, it was two days later.
On this day, Qin Wu looked at several A4 papers and nodded in satisfaction.
"That’s about it."
"Mmh." Mo Chenxuan nodded before speaking.
"Let’s wait until night before putting up the shop."
"I wonder if we are being too ostentatious." Qin Wu couldn’t help but worry.
Although the members of team Legends already knew that Qin Wu’s space was a lot larger than that of ordinary superpowers, it was still not a good idea to keep flaunting this fact.
After all, most of the base leaders lived in the villa area.
If those people became suspicious, team Legends would be under scrutiny and some of their secrets may be uncovered.
"Don’t worry, I have already taken countermeasures."
"Countermeasures? What countermeasures?"
"I thought about this matter while you were in the shower several nights ago. In the end, I asked uncle Zhang to put up appearances." Mo Chenxuan said and soon continued.
"A lorry ’brought’ several large containers to our villa in the past few days. If anybody asks, we will say the containers contained the prefab parts of the modular shop."
"What if they ask where we got them from?"
"How is it their business?" Mo Chenxuan asked and Qin Wu immediately understood.
Before the apocalypse, that kind of question was inconsequential.
However, during the apocalypse, questioning the source of someone’s resources was akin to eyeing their fortune.
Knowing this, few people dared to ask such impertinent questions and Mo Chenxuan was counting on this mentality.
That night, Mo Chenxuan and Qin Wu left the main villa, found an empty space in the compound, and placed a modular supermarket there.
After doing this, they entered the store and began looking around.
"Fortunately, the structure comes with shelves and counters." Qin Wu said and Mo Chenxuan nodded.
"All that is remaining is placing goods on the shelves. Let’s do that tomorrow." He said.
"Good."
Soon after, the two returned to the main villa and after showering, they went to bed and didn’t wake up until nine in the morning.
After breakfast, they gathered the team and everyone went to the new supermarket.
"What’s going on?" Lin Rongrong asked, curiously looking at the empty shelves.
"This will be our team’s supermarket. Only open to the members of the main and affiliated teams." Qin Wu said but soon frowned.
"Brother Chenxuan, we should have a meeting with everyone in the main and affiliated teams."
"I have already asked uncle Zhang to set it up." Mo Chenxuan said and Qin WU couldn’t help but roll her eyes.
’I will get the better of you one of these days.’ She thought but didn’t really take it to heart.
"What will we be selling?" Xu Fei asked.
"Everything, including weapons." Qin Wu said, looking at Xiao Junxie with a meaningful smile.
"Weapons? What kind of weapons?"
"Guns, grenades, and more."
"Brother Mo, Sister Qin, you have to be careful about this matter." Xiao Junxie couldn’t help but caution.
After all, he used to be a highly placed official before he left the base leadership.
Because of this, he knew the Xuanyuan and the four major families had a monopoly on weapons.
If another player appeared in the game, the five families would do everything possible to beat them to their original form.
"Don’t worry, we are not reckless." Qin Wu said and quickly continued.
"First, weapons can only be bought using contribution points. Second, there is a limit to the kind and number of weapons that a person can buy. Our small-scale business shouldn’t attract much attention and even if it did, the base leadership won’t care about a few small arms."
"Sister Qin, what are contribution points?" Lu Yanyan suddenly asked.
"Each member of the main and affiliated teams will receive points based on their contribution to the team. The contribution may be in the form of completing tasks, gathering information, recruiting talents, training people, dealing with enemies, research, cleaning, cooking, ..., basically anything that benefits the team."
Hearing this, the team members couldn’t help but look forward to it.
"We will have a meeting tomorrow but before then, let’s stock the supermarket." Mo Chenxuan said.
After that, Qin Wu removed a batch of goods from her storage space and everyone rushed here and there to place them in their proper places.
By evening, the place looked no different from pre-apocalypse supermarkets and the team couldn’t help but feel a little proud.
