Chapter 847: Finding the Fox

Chapter 847: Chapter 847: Finding the Fox

And that Madman was terrifying indeed; the more he fought, the braver he became, and he seemed utterly fearless in the face of death, fiercely clashing with anyone who approached.

Just getting close to him spelled doom.

Now the insects didn’t even know how many times they had united to fight, swarming to attack in the same direction.

That direction was just out of sight, blocked by a boulder.

With no other choices, Bai Junjun could only figure out a way to get down. But as soon as she poked her head out, she was discovered by the Nine-Headed Hydra, one of its heads darting quickly towards her.

"!!!"

Annoyed, Bai Junjun set up the repeating crossbow cart again, using the cave as her base and firing crossbow bolts like a madwoman at the Nine-Headed Hydra.

Her Space contained an arsenal of cold weapons, which she had been at a loss to dispose of. Now, they had found their use.

She moved the crossbows out as if they cost nothing, constantly reloading as soon as the arrow slot was empty. The arrows rattled out and in no time turned the Nine-Headed Hydra into a sieve; the Hydra fell awkwardly below and was silent.

"Tsk." Bai Junjun glanced disdainfully at the defeated beast before calmly retracting the repeating crossbow cart and continuing to leap into the pit.

Those Poisonous Worms began to cry out frenetically at the sight of a newcomer, some even trying to attack Bai Junjun.

However, seeing that she charged towards that damned Madman as well, the poison insects instinctively saw her as one of their own, and no one stopped her.

Bai Junjun braced herself to spill blood with the insects; unexpectedly, not a single one attacked her.

Since they didn’t attack her, she didn’t hold back.

Bai Junjun sprinted to the blind spot behind the stalagmite, only to see a person or what used to be a person standing there. His body was smeared with the juices of Poisonous Worms, the Leviathan Skin was already corroded by the poison, and the skin underneath was severely rotted.

His face was unrecognizable, his eyes a bloody red with red fluid flowing from his eyes, ears, mouth, and nose. Yet he hadn’t moved an inch, and below his knees was nothing but the corpses of insects.

Fox had disappeared for several days, and in that time, he’d slain countless monsters, which had left him in such a sorry state.

Bai Junjun’s eyes reddened, wanting to rush over and rescue him, but Li Wenli had entered a conditioned reflex of self-protection. He was completely unconscious and, seeing something rushing at him, would instinctively swing his knife.

Only then did Bai Junjun realize that Li Wenli’s knife was long gone, and what he was holding now was not a knife but the fang of a Poisonous Worm.

Seeing Li Wenli swing his weapon, Bai Junjun could only quickly fall back awkwardly to dodge.

And the Poisonous Worms, seeing this person also attacked by the Madman, were even more convinced she was an ally and were thrilled to have another helper.

So, they began to spray their poison even more enthusiastically at Li Wenli.

However, Li Wenli didn’t dodge the poison spray at all and even began to absorb it.

Bai Junjun was shocked to see such a transformation in Fox.

Thinking back to what the Gu Master had said about creating a Poisoned Man, she initially didn’t understand, but now she did.

Perhaps Fox was unaware that he had been afflicted by some Gu, now not only able to absorb the poison but also frantically nurturing and growing within it.

Once he completely absorbed it, wouldn’t he truly become a Poisoned Man?

This was clearly like a biohazard virus!

With her eyes reddened, Bai Junjun furiously slashed at the insects spraying poison at Fox, cutting them down before they could react.
