Chapter 733: Chapter 733: A Future without Limits

With that pardon, the person secretly heaved a sigh of relief, but alongside that relief was an inevitable inner sneer; hardly anyone visited this place, so what wind had brought the Chief out here today to give them a fright?

The person’s small, shifty eyes looked around, trying to spot anything out of the ordinary.

After all, the days in the mountains were boring, and life was tough, repeating the same routine day after day.

However, to their disappointment, the Chief didn’t reveal anything, simply ordering them to open the door to the Armory as he needed to inspect it.

The Guard never thought the day would come when the Armory would receive an inspection; after all, it wasn’t like the Components Workshop, the Assembly Workshop, or the Antique Workshop that required a lot of manpower.

What was stored here were just casted spears and "Arrow Feathers"; to put it plainly, it was just a warehouse.

So even the guarding of it was only entrusted to one person at the door.

The Chief usually ignored this place, but today, to their surprise, he came over for an inspection.

Without a word, the guard immediately opened the warehouse and invited the Chief to enter.

Li Wenli slowly walked into the Armory, seeing that the cave was about five meters tall and deeper than the Components Workshop. This place was densely stocked with "Arrow Feathers," each bundle containing a hundred or so arrows, each one gleaming coldly.

Li Wenli confirmed that there were no schematics here before preparing to leave, while the servant cautiously followed. The Chief looked at the "Arrow Feathers," and he looked at the Chief, feeling that today’s Chief seemed a bit fatter than usual.

Li Wenli, noticing the guard’s constant gaze, was grateful that the young lady was thin, clinging tightly to his back. The wind also helped to round off the sharp angles, making him appear just like a hunchbacked elder. But this was only a visual deception.

If the guard were to suddenly reach out and touch, the disguise would be blown.

Feeling the guard’s gaze, Li Wenli cleared his throat and nonchalantly fiddled with the "Arrow Feathers."

"The cave is damp; you must pay attention to moisture-proofing, lest the "Arrow Feathers" rust."

Pulled back to reality by these words, the guard nodded repeatedly, "Rest assured, Chief, we usually check the weapons every three days."

"Hmm," Li Wenli nodded, slowly making his way out of the place.

Once again in the corridor, Li Wenli was somewhat bewildered; the path was shaped like a ’T’, with the Components Workshop at one end, and the warehouse at the other. The only other way was the path he had come from; there were no other ways out. How would he continue?

But asking would give him away.

Li Wenli was in a bind.

The guard, an honest man, seeing the Chief exiting, naturally assumed the inspection was over and locked up the warehouse door, only to turn around and find the Chief still standing in the corridor, motionless.

Startled, the guard awkwardly touched his racing heart, "Do you have any other instructions, Chief?"

"Ah, no, you have done well, I’m also planning to check the next location."

Li Wenli replied awkwardly but didn’t move an inch.

The guard, realizing something wasn’t right, quickly stepped forward and pressed a lantern in what seemed to be a dead-end corridor. With a click, a stone door opened and a path suddenly emerged before them.

Li Wenli was taken aback.

At this moment, the guard had respectfully bowed and opened the secret passage, "Please, Chief, this way."

"Uh, good, keep up the good work, you will have a bright future," Li Wenli said without expecting the guard to be so perceptive and earnest in his service.

Such a thoughtful guard deserved a proper reward.

The guard, unaware of the situation, still fervently waved goodbye to Li Wenli, respectfully seeing him off.
