Chapter 271 Power of the Water Spirit

Chapter 271: Chapter 271 Power of the Water Spirit

The pythons were fierce and threatening, hissing as they rapidly surged forward, their fierce eyes filled with killing intent, clearly intent on swallowing this escapee whole as a warning to others.

If it were an ordinary person seeing these densely packed pythons climbing up, they would have gone weak in the knees by now, but Bai Junjun was no ordinary person, was she?

She didn’t wait for the pythons to reach her and started lashing out with her whip, wildly striking the ones below.

The vines of the Drooping Tube Flower, toughened by Earth Fire, were both resilient and strong, laying waste wherever they went.

The smaller snakes had their heads severed with a single whip, while the larger ones had their skins split and flesh burst, falling haphazardly, which only made the pythons below even angrier, pushing them to surge upwards with all their might.

However, Bai Junjun stood resolute, like a general holding the pass, and struck down all those climbing the tree.

The pythons were quite clever too; seeing that Bai Junjun was handling them with ease, some of them turned to climb another big tree, attempting to flank her from both sides.

"Be careful," Li Wenli warned.

"Take care of Bai Lingyu!" Bai Junjun had just finished speaking when she suddenly grabbed outward with her hands, taking control of the nearby trees, causing all the surrounding vines to spring into action and entwine the cold snakes.

For a moment, it was a battle between snakes and vines, each side struggling to gain the upper hand.

At that moment, Bai Lingyu slowly awakened, opening his eyes to see his elder sister standing on a tree with several snakes just inches away from her—a truly perilous scene.

Bai Lingyu suddenly forgot his fear, his pupils dilating as his mind focused on one thought alone: he must save his elder sister!

So, Bai Lingyu clenched his fists, subconsciously gathering strength to control the water, preparing to mimic the giant rock explosions he had seen before—he, too, wanted to make the Water Ball explode!

However, as he was drawing water, he felt a force within the water trying to break free from his grip, unwilling to obey him.

Bai Lingyu gritted his teeth and wrestled with this mysterious force.

Li Wenli, who was using Wind Blades to deal with the surrounding pythons, suddenly sensed something amiss with the water and looked down to see the young boy instinctively practicing the art of commanding the Water Spirit.

He had planned to nurture the boy for a few days before helping him capture the Water Spirit, but now the boy had triggered a battle on his own.

With the arrow on the bowstring, Li Wenli had no choice but to control the Wind Blades while sparing energy to help Bai Lingyu.

Initially, the Water Spirit, just being pulled by Bai Lingyu, managed to keep a balance, but now with the pressure of a more terrifying force from behind, the Water Spirit, outmatched by numbers, was ultimately caught off guard by Bai Lingyu.

The Water Spirit could no longer control its own ability, and was forcefully absorbed by Bai Lingyu.

Thus empowered, Bai Lingyu instantly unleashed tremendous ability, causing countless Water Balls to swell and then explode amongst the snakes.

The bombs came swiftly, tearing the pythons apart.

Bai Junjun was taken by surprise and ended up smeared with snake flesh, reeking all over.

"!!" Bai Junjun, unexpectedly saved by her younger brother’s drastic actions, was left speechless.

Seeing Bai Junjun’s disheveled appearance, Li Wenli, recognizing the situation, strategically raised a water column to wash her off.

Fortunately, her frost-resistant robe was immune to both water and fire, also shedding no dust. The sticky, foul-smelling snake flesh was washed off in a torrent.

At that moment, with his Water-series Abilities performing at two hundred percent, Bai Lingyu stared blankly at his elder sister, temporarily unable to recover from the shock of having destroyed the giant snakes.

After a while, once he was certain his elder sister was safe, he only then belatedly began to feel frightened.

Thinking back to the mysterious force that had tugged at him, Bai Lingyu suddenly grabbed Li Wenli’s leg and, with a cry, called out to his elder sister.

"Elder sister, there’s... there’s a ghost..."
