Chapter 100: Chapter 100: The Final Outcome 2_1
"Jianren... without you, what am I going to do!" Fang Yuemei was even more of a mess, crying her eyes out, who could have imagined that the plan would fail again.
And it was a complete and utter defeat.
This time, no matter whom she begged, there was no way to get him a reprieve.
"Daddy! Don’t take my daddy away!" Seeing the prison van driving off, Xia Jiaojiao, with her eyes red from crying, couldn’t hold back any longer and suddenly screamed, lunging towards Xia Ningxing and the others:
"It’s all because of you that I lost my dad, I’ll beat you to death!"
"Crazy girl!" Mrs. Xia and her five brothers’ pupils shrank suddenly, as they hurriedly pulled Xia Ningxing out of the way.
Xia Jiaojiao didn’t expect them to dodge, and in attempting to stop herself after lunging at empty air, she found that she was going too fast to brake. She crashed into a chair, knocking out her front teeth.
"Ow! It hurts so much! Mommy! I’m in so much pain!"
After such a knock, Xia Jiaojiao suddenly forgot about seeking revenge against Xia Ningxing and the others, lying on the ground and wailing without care for her image, covering her mouth that was oozing fresh blood.
"Jiaojiao!" Fang Yuemei cried out in alarm, immediately trying to rush forward while holding her large belly, but in her haste, she somehow slipped and fell—
"Ah!"
The scream that followed was Fang Yuemei’s.
The fall of a pregnant woman was no small matter; blood started gushing from under her skirt, staining the terrazzo floor of the courtroom red.
The scene happened so suddenly that everyone present was stunned, even Xia Jiaojiao, who had been incessantly crying, was shocked, her mouth agape but unable to make a sound.
"Mommy!" After a while, Xia Jiaojiao’s lips trembled as she made a sound.
"Quick, save, save my children..." Fang Yuemei was in so much pain, sweat beaded on her forehead, dampening her bangs.
Now the child was her only bargaining chip. At least Old Mrs. Xia would take her in, considering she was carrying Xia Jianren’s son.
But if the child was lost, that wretched old hag would surely not care about the life or death of her and her daughter.
What would she do then, penniless as she was, to survive!
Old Mrs. Xia had also come to her senses by now, bellowing, "Quick, save my grandsons, save the people!"
By this point, everyone had snapped out of it, and someone had already called for an ambulance.
Unfortunately, it was still a step too late, and the twin boys were lost.
"My children!"
Upon hearing the news, Fang Yuemei cried so hard she nearly fainted.
Xia Jiaojiao’s body shook like a sieve, her childish face filled with fear and resentment.
It wasn’t her fault her brothers died! It wasn’t her! It wasn’t her!
The blame lay solely on her useless mother, who fell and lost the children, or perhaps on Xia Ningxing and the others, for causing so much trouble that led to the loss of her brothers.
"Useless! Can’t even keep a child!" Old Mrs. Xia, her eyes dark with rage and her chest paining, was almost spitting blood.
Her precious grandsons were gone just like that!
"Mother, although the children are gone, Jiaojiao is still a child of the Xia family. Please, for Jiaojiao’s sake, take us mother and daughter in."
Fang Yuemei knew her bargaining chip was gone, so now she could only plead desperately with the old hag, hoping for some kindness; otherwise, how would she, a lone and penniless woman, provide for herself and her daughter?
But she underestimated Old Mrs. Xia, who detested girls most of all!
So...
"To hell with you, thinking I’d take in two pieces of trash! Pah, worthless shit, just drop dead!"
"You’re nothing but a plaything to my son, Jianren, what right do you have to call me mother!"
"And you think you can come to my house, you might as well just die!"
Old Mrs. Xia raised her cane and pointed it at her, scolding shrilly and spitefully.
Fang Yuemei, who had lived in comfort for over a decade, was no match for the old hag in a war of words and wished she could just hide in a hole and disappear.
Despair seeped into her heart bit by bit.
She was finished!
She too was finished!
Without a man to depend on, how would she live from now on!
