Chapter 136: More than Twenty Thousand

Chapter 136: Chapter 136: More than Twenty Thousand

"Qian Cheng, this is Mr. Chen, my mentor, thanks to him my calligraphy could be exhibited," Jiang Xue smiled as she introduced the two, calling Mr. Chen her ’mentor’ made him beam with joy.

Secretly, she thought: Not bad, the girl knows how to be grateful.

"Hello, Mr. Chen!" Mu Qiancheng greeted Mr. Chen with a smile. Previously, in the park, Jiang Xue had told him that her participation in this exhibition was entirely due to Mr. Chen’s recommendation and support.

Moreover, Jiang Xue told him that Mr. Chen bought one of her pieces at quite a high price. Frankly, Mu Qiancheng was astounded when he heard the price. His annual allowance was not even as much as Jiang Xue could make from selling one painting.

"You’re a lucky fellow, being able to marry Jiang," Mr. Chen said while sizing up Mu Qiancheng. He had never inquired about Jiang Xue’s personal life before and had no idea that she was already married; he had been thinking about playing matchmaker for her.

He hadn’t expected that she would get married so early. However, it’s fortunate that Jiang Xue’s husband seemed to be a good match for her.

"It’s the luck of a lifetime!" Mu Qiancheng replied, which made Mr. Chen even more impressed with him.

"Mr. Chen, I brought one more person in today, is that alright?" Jiang Xue interjected at the right moment, which made Mr. Chen laugh again, saying, "Don’t worry, I won’t leave your husband waiting outside, will I?"

As they were chatting, a man in a suit walked out of the exhibition hall and came up to Mr. Chen, respectfully saying, "Mr. Chen, you’re here, please come inside."

"Xiao Yang, come, let me introduce you to someone," Mr. Chen said with a smile when he saw the newcomer.

"Sure!" The man named Xiao Yang smiled, glanced at Jiang Xue and Mu Qiancheng, and waited for Mr. Chen to make the introductions.

"This is Jiang Xue, the owner of those calligraphy pieces I mentioned to you before."

"Jiang, this is Xiao Yang, the person in charge of this exhibition."

Mr. Chen introduced the two, and upon hearing that Jiang Xue was the owner of the calligraphy, Xiao Yang’s attitude immediately changed, and he said enthusiastically, "So you’re Jiang Xue, I’ve heard so much about you."

"Hello, Mr. Yang!" Jiang Xue smiled, feeling a bit unaccustomed to Xiao Yang’s enthusiasm.

After exchanging greetings, Xiao Yang turned to Mu Qiancheng beside him and asked, "And who might this be?"

"He is Jiang Xue’s husband, Xiao Mu."

"Oh, Mr. Mu, my apologies."

"You’re too kind, Mr. Yang."

After a bit of small talk, they all entered the exhibition hall together. Once inside, Mr. Chen did not immediately view the exhibition but was taken to the office by Xiao Yang to have some tea.

While having tea in the office, Xiao Yang explained to Jiang Xue the situation about the auction of the calligraphy after the exhibition. Most of the works in this exhibition were by famous artists and masters, whereas Jiang Xue was considered an emerging talent, so her pricing would be a bit lower.

"Mr. Yang, could you explain how much lower?" Jiang Xue was not very clear about this, so she intended to get clarification.

Previously, Mr. Chen had only told her that her works could be sold after the exhibition, but he hadn’t explained how the sales would be conducted.

"It will depend on how many people express interest in purchasing them today. If many people inquire, the starting bid will be higher."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Xue furrowed her brows and said, "Mr. Yang, if that’s the case, then I won’t auction my calligraphy. Because for my pieces, the minimum price must be over twenty thousand."
