Chapter 126: Chapter 126: To My Liking

"Mr. Chen, how could I forget you? You’re my great benefactor," Jiang Xue said with a smile.

"Alright, you girl, you really know how to please me. Since you’re not in a hurry to go back, let me take you to the antique market for a stroll."

"Sure, that would be great, Mr. Chen." Jiang Xue chuckled. She originally planned to visit the antique market, and now with Mr. Chen leading her, she couldn’t be happier.

Jiang Xue followed Mr. Chen around the antique market, gaining a lot of insights and meeting many people. To be honest, she was clueless about antiques before.

If Mr. Chen hadn’t been with her, she would have just been there for the sights.

They strolled around the antique market all morning, and as it was almost lunchtime, Jiang Xue decided to treat Mr. Chen to a meal.

So, she looked around and found a promising restaurant, with the words Imperial Kitchen written on it, exuding an ancient charm that made one happy just looking at it.

"Mr. Chen, it’s getting late, let me treat you to lunch," Jiang Xue said to Mr. Chen with a smile.

"Alright!" Mr. Chen didn’t refuse, smiling as he agreed, then pointed to the restaurant Jiang Xue noticed, and said, "The food there is pretty good."

"Great!" Jiang Xue nodded with a smile and then went into the Imperial Kitchen with Mr. Chen.

"Mr. Chen, you’re here!" The waiter in the restaurant, who apparently knew Mr. Chen, greeted him with a smile when he saw him enter.

"Is there a private room available?" Mr. Chen asked calmly.

"Yes, yes, yes, the room we always keep for you is still available." The waiter said as he led the two of them to the private room.

Because Mr. Chen often dined there, he had a special private room reserved for him. Generally, it wouldn’t be used by others unless Mr. Chen didn’t arrive on time and the restaurant was extremely busy.

Once in the private room, the waiter smiled again and asked, "Mr. Chen, the usual?"

Mr. Chen didn’t respond immediately but instead picked up a menu from the side and handed it to Jiang Xue, saying, "Girl, take a look and see what you like, order for yourself."

"It’s alright, I eat anything, let’s go with Mr. Chen’s preferences," Jiang Xue smiled and put the menu down. Mr. Chen smiled with satisfaction and then said to the waiter, "Then the usual, and add two desserts the girl likes."

"Okay, Mr. Chen, please wait a moment." The waiter left, and Jiang Xue and Mr. Chen sat in the private room, sipping tea and chatting.

Jiang Xue, being new to antiques, had many questions she didn’t understand. She asked Mr. Chen about each one.

Mr. Chen and Jiang Xue got along well, and being generous, he told Jiang Xue everything he knew.

In no time, the waiter started bringing in the dishes, and only then did they stop chatting.

Seeing the dish being placed on the table, Mr. Chen picked up his chopsticks, pointed to one of the dishes, and said, "Girl, try this, steamed lion’s head, a specialty of the Imperial Kitchen. This flavor is unique to this place; nowhere else can quite replicate it."

"Alright, I’ll give it a try," Jiang Xue smiled, picking up a fist-sized lion’s head and placing it in her bowl, then gently took a bite.

Indeed, the flavor of the lion’s head was quite special, delicious without being greasy, with a satisfying chewiness.

"How is it?" Mr. Chen eagerly asked Jiang Xue after she took a bite. He loved this lion’s head, ordering it every time he came, never tiring of it.

Jiang Xue thought back to what she just tasted and then said, "The flavor is excellent, giving a special feeling reminiscent of a mother’s taste."
