Chapter 311: Chapter 311: Yu Zhaodi (Third Update)
"Do you think so?" Tang Yue looked at Zhang Tingyu uncertainly, tilting her head as she pondered. They had only known each other for three years, how could they be like childhood sweethearts?
"Yes," Zhang Tingyu said with certainty. "When you two are together, the vibe is just very comfortable. Also, the way he looks at you, it’s really doting."
"Xiao Yue, I’m really envious of you," Zhang Tingyu sighed emotionally. To meet someone you love at such a good age is both a fortune and a happiness.
Tang Yue couldn’t help but smile, knowing only that she was very happy and secure with Mo Siyu. Being with him made her forget that she had been reborn; she felt like a young girl experiencing her first crush.
The two of them chatted and laughed all the way, and before even entering Jinghua University, they had already become the center of attention.
Both Tang Yue and Zhang Tingyu were undeniably attractive, and their appearance together made them even more the center of interest. As they walked, many people would pass by and then circle back for another look.
As they talked, this was a common occurrence back in high school and neither of them minded. Once they entered campus, since they were enrolled in different departments, they went their separate ways and planned to meet for a meal after registration.
Tang Yue was in the Fashion Design department, which wasn’t a popular major. When she found it, she happened to see a girl dragging a large suitcase and carrying a big bag. The girl had two thick braids and wore clothes that had been washed so many times they had faded to white.
Approaching, Tang Yue saw the girl’s profile, with heavy bangs almost covering her entire face. The girl was struggling to carry her belongings, her determination evident, yet she had never asked anyone for help.
The sight of her reminded Tang Yue of herself in the past; she had been through many similar moments, wishing then that someone would offer her help.
"Do you need help?" Tang Yue asked, holding only her registration materials and nothing else.
"No need," the girl glanced at Tang Yue, then quickly shook her head. Her belongings were dusty, and she was afraid of getting Tang Yue’s pristine clothes dirty.
"Let me help you with your suitcase." Tang Yue volunteered without waiting for a response.
"No need, don’t get your clothes dirty," said the girl, her other hand carrying a bag, unable to use her hands to refuse Tang Yue’s help.
Tang Yue smiled warmly and continued to help, not knowing how heavy the suitcase was or how the girl had managed to carry it from the school gate.
"Thank you," the girl continued to thank her sincerely, her accent revealing her southern roots. Tang Yue casually asked, "Are you from the south?"
"Yes, I’m from Hu Province," the girl responded, showing a bright smile of white teeth.
"Then we are neighbors; I’m from Jiang Province." Tang Yue felt a good vibe from the girl and asked, "Are you also in the design department?"
"No," the girl shook her head repeatedly. "I’m studying law."
Tang Yue stopped in her tracks. "Are you sure you didn’t take the wrong path?"
"Did I?" The girl looked at Tang Yue, bewildered. The thought of having walked the wrong path after such a distance was almost despairing.
"My friend also studies law, but she didn’t go this way," Tang Yue mentioned. "Don’t worry, let me take you there."
"How could I put you through that trouble?" The girl looked at Tang Yue, finding her incredibly kind-hearted and beautiful.
"It’s fine; I’m not in a hurry with registration," Tang Yue said, thinking that the girl had too much luggage.
The girl was happy and grateful. After a moment, she realized she hadn’t introduced herself and said somewhat embarrassedly, "My name is Yu Zhaodi."
Upon hearing her name, Yu Zhaodi stealthily observed Tang Yue. When others heard her name, some reacted with laughter and others asked more heart-poking questions about whether she had a younger brother.
Tang Yue showed no disdain and treated it like any other name, saying, "I’m Tang Yue. My friend Zhang Tingyu also studies law; maybe you’ll be in the same class."
"Really?" Yu Zhaodi’s anxious feelings began to subside. She wasn’t talkative, but she answered all of Tang Yue’s questions.
"Xiao Yue," Zhang Tingyu came out after registration and saw Tang Yue helping a girl with braids. "Are you playing Lei Feng?"
"This is Yu Zhaodi, she studies law like you," Tang Yue introduced. "I just saw she had a lot of stuff and lent a hand, it’s not about being Lei Feng."
"Zhaodi, let me introduce you. This is my friend, Zhang Tingyu," Tang Yue introduced enthusiastically. She liked Yu Zhaodi very much and naturally introduced her to her good friend.
"Hello." Yu Zhaodi greeted warmly, but didn’t dare to extend her hand. The dresses worn by Zhang Tingyu and Tang Yue seemed very fine, making her feel embarrassed to be in their presence.
Tang Yue greeted and then took Zhang Tingyu to the design department for registration. Tang Yue had good grades and chose a less popular department, which the school leaders thought was a pity. During reg**)&Internal_BOLD_IS_ITALIC_TEXT_END**istration, they specifically asked if she wanted to change her department.
Tang Yue was very determined and chose the Design department but also took Computer Science as a minor. Computer technology wasn’t widespread yet, but it was available, and having relied on hand drawings previously, she naturally wanted to learn more.
The Computer Science department was a rather unpopular major at the time.
The faculties of Literature and Foreign Languages also inquired whether Tang Yue would like to join them, as everyone was eager to have her.
Given Tang Yue’s college entrance examination scores, she would have been an excellent addition to any faculty, yet she chose two less popular majors.
Tang Yue was very determined, so everyone had no choice but to give up and leave disappointed.
"Xiao Yue, I chose Economics," Zhang Tingyu said cheerfully. "The teachers were sorry to see you didn’t join them."
"It’s okay, I study what I want to," Tang Yue was very steadfast in her decisions.
For lunch, Zhang Tingyu and Tang Yue ate together in the Siheyuan where Zhang lived. They bought groceries and cooked themselves—two dishes and a soup. Although not extravagant, the meal was full of atmosphere, and they chatted and laughed, imagining their future university life.
