Chapter 245: Chapter 245: You Got a Tan (Third Update)
"Miss Tang, the sister-in-law from the Lu Family, how come you’ve come so early?" Li Wei asked curiously.
Tang Yue looked at Li Wei with a queer expression. She cleared her throat and casually responded. How could she admit that others had come to check if she slept alone or with someone else?
She really didn’t understand how Jiang Beini’s mind worked. They were just dating and not even married yet!
Nowadays, it still hasn’t become acceptable for couples to live together openly while they are still dating.
In the cafeteria, Tang Yue was sitting opposite Mo Siyu. At this time, it wasn’t quite mealtime yet, so there weren’t many people around. However, those present were all staring at Tang Yue with wide-eyed curiosity.
Tang Yue felt like a monkey being observed by everyone.
Tang Yue felt extremely uncomfortable.
Mo Siyu comforted her, "It’s okay, they’re just curious about what you look like."
"How did you sleep last night?" Mo Siyu tried to make conversation to ease her discomfort.
Mo Siyu coolly swept a glance over those who wanted to gawk, which made them immediately lower their heads, pretending to be busy eating or doing something else.
Tang Yue felt quite a bit more relaxed and said, "Not bad, but where are Xiao Jun and the others? Why haven’t they come over?"
Tang Yue was eating noodles, egg noodles. It was her first time eating at the motorcade, and she couldn’t help but feel the egg noodles seemed even more delicious.
"They went for training with the others," Mo Siyu said as he passed an egg from his bowl to hers. "Xiao Yue, you’re still growing. You should eat more."
"Um..." Tang Yue quickly glanced around, relieved to see that no one was paying attention, before quietly letting out a sigh.
Tang Yue wanted to hand back the egg, but she was worried about passing it back and forth, afraid of the embarrassment it would cause if others noticed.
"You’re the one who’s gotten thinner and darker," Tang Yue observed him seriously. "Didn’t you just go out to drive? Or have you been sunbathing every day?"
She had wanted to ask yesterday why Mo Siyu had gotten so much tanner but never found the right moment to ask.
Mo Siyu touched his chin and asked, "Does looking darker not look good?"
"It’s fine." Tang Yue took a bite of the egg and swallowed before asking, "They can train with everyone else? Aren’t you guys a motorcade? Why do you need to train every day?"
The eggs were fried perfectly, golden brown on both sides and particularly flavorful. Despite being savory, she could taste a sweet note to them.
"Our motorcade’s boss used to be a practitioner; he firmly believes that daily training will improve everyone’s physical fitness and our ability to complete delivery tasks," Mo Siyu answered confidently. Seeing her anxious expression, he smiled and said, "Don’t worry, we just train for two hours in the morning. If they’re willing, they can train with everyone all summer long, that’s fine."
"Can they handle it?" When Tang Yue thought of Tang Jun and the other two training with them, she worried whether the 14-year-olds could keep up.
As if seeing through her worries, Mo Siyu said, "I’ve asked someone to look after them. Their training workload will be a little less than that of the new recruits. However, if they can handle it, it’s fine. It’s good for their health. Who knows, maybe in two months they might shoot up in height significantly."
Tang Yue pursed her lips, not having much expectation for that claim. Two months to shoot up in height significantly was hard to imagine for her. All she hoped was that they wouldn’t end up crying from not being able to endure it.
She hadn’t eaten much in the car yesterday, and couldn’t eat much during dinner either. Now the noodles tasted light and rich, and soon Tang Yue finished one bowl after another.
Mo Siyu’s bowl had been empty for a while, and he watched her with a smile in his eyes, "Later, accompany me to the hospital for a follow-up check-up."
"Okay," Tang Yue agreed, and pushed Mo Siyu’s wheelchair according to his directions to the designated location.
After they left the cafeteria, the place erupted into a buzzing hive of activity.
"Brother Mo is really affectionate towards his wife."
"No kidding, if your wife looked like a little fairy, wouldn’t you be affectionate toward her too?"
"They say even heroes can’t overcome the trials of a beauty, Brother Mo is no exception."
"That’s true, little sister-in-law is really beautiful, although she does look a little young. I wonder if she’s even 16?"
"I heard from Li Wei that little sister-in-law is already 18, and she’s about to become a senior high school student."
Everyone was talking back and forth. Last night, word got out that Brother Mo’s partner had arrived, and the entire motorcade was buzzing with excitement. Since last night, more gossip had spread from the family housing area about how Brother Mo’s partner looked like a fairy, and naturally, everyone became even more curious.
Tang Yue pushed Mo Siyu all the way to catch the bus, and there were already lots of people deliberately coming over to greet Brother Mo, really just to catch a glimpse of Brother Mo’s partner and see if she’s as described in the rumors.
Tang Yue didn’t understand why and thought the motorcade members were just very enthusiastic. She said, "Mo Siyu, the people in your motorcade are really warm-hearted."
"That’s because of you," said Mo Siyu with a meaningful tone.
Tang Yue thought it was because family had come to visit that everyone was so enthusiastic, but later, when she stayed in the family housing area, she realized it really was just because of her.
Mo Siyu hadn’t lied at all.
In just a short distance, they’d already stopped N times, and each time, Tang Yue could see those enthusiastic smiles, which made her feel very close to them.
Mo Siyu looked back and saw the shallow smile on Tang Yue’s face; his lips lifted slightly, and in his ink-dark eyes shone speckles of an indulgent light.
Hospital.
Mo Siyu and Tang Yue went for a follow-up appointment together. Tang Yue was worried about his leg, and when she saw the doctor, she planned to ask.
"Xiao Yue, I’m thirsty. Could you trouble you to buy me a bottle of water?" Mo Siyu hurriedly said.
"Okay." Tang Yue wanted to ask the doctor, but she thought she might as well first buy Mo Siyu water, since the doctor wasn’t going anywhere, anyway.
By the time Tang Yue came back, the doctor had already finished the examination, and Mo Siyu said, "We can go back now."
"Hmm, it’s still early, where would you like to go?" Mo Siyu asked, and then he felt his leg was too useless. Xiao Yue had come all the way to Jing City and he couldn’t take her around to have fun.
"What did the doctor say? How’s your leg?" Tang Yue asked anxiously. She didn’t want to go anywhere; she just wanted to know how his leg was.
"Um..." Mo Siyu lowered his head and said, "The doctor said that with proper rest, there’s a possibility of recovery."
"Really?" Tang Yue’s eyes lit up and instantly a radiant smile appeared on her face. She said, "I knew it, how could God be so cruel as to not let your leg heal!"
Mo Siyu sighed. One lie had to be covered up with countless others. How was he going to tell Xiao Yue that in another week, he’d gradually be able to walk again?
"Right, I’m going to give little uncle a call, or else he’ll be worried." Tang Yue looked at the public phone at the kiosk. Last night, it was already dark when they arrived at the motorcade and she forgot to call little uncle.
She was wondering if little uncle was extremely worried.
Tang Yue got through on the phone, and after only a ’beep’, it connected.
"Xiao Yue, is it you?" Tang Mingli had been reluctant to leave these past couple of days, fearing he’d miss Tang Yue’s call.
