Chapter 224: Chapter 224: Acting Out of Character (Fourth Update)
Tang Yue carefully picked up the watch, gently wiping it with a cloth, and involuntarily, the scenes from her dreams emerged in her mind—back then, she was gravely ill, and she had taken Wu Xinming to court.
Kicked out by Wu Xinming, even her previous savings were all taken away by him, and she was driven out of the Wu Family alone.
Those two houses, there wasn’t a single place for her to stay.
The lawsuit required lengthy evidence collection and investigations, and what she lacked the most was time.
Later on, she collapsed alone after a heavy rain, and afterwards, she met the only person who cared about her during the last part of her life.
Mo Siyu.
When she was dying, Mo Siyu told her that he had avenged her.
Mo Siyu.
Looking at the light pink watch, Tang Yue’s mind gradually filled with his image. She didn’t know why Mo Siyu was alone, unmarried, and childless in his previous life, but in this life, she wanted to give it a try.
She wanted to stay by Mo Siyu’s side, bear his children, so that she wouldn’t be lonely anymore.
Even if he were to be rich in the future, she would expand her business, able to stand side by side with Mo Siyu.
In the dark night, in Tang Yue’s room, stars of light reflected, and in front of the desk, Tang Yue vigorously drew, inspiration flowing like a fountain, tirelessly sketching one design draft after another. On her delicate wrist, the light pink watch continuously powered Tang Yue.
As the early morning sun rose, a great stretch of its brilliance, Tang Yue stretched a big lazy stretch, looking at the several drafts she drew last night, they seemed even more beautiful.
She scooped up some cold water to wash her face, the sleepiness from staying up half the night was swept away significantly.
She had just changed out of her pajamas and was ready to go to school when she opened the door, she saw Xu Zhenzhen with panda eyes.
Seeing Xu Zhenzhen in her dream yesterday, fashionable in her past life, and now seeing the pitiful, simply dressed Xu Zhenzhen in front of her, Tang Yue felt a blur between reality and dreams.
The contrast between these two people was just too great.
"Xiao Yue, I bought you breakfast, this meat bun is so big, and there’s soy milk, steaming hot, fresh out of the pot." Xu Zhenzhen looked at Tang Yue trying to please her.
Thinking all night last night, Xu Zhenzhen felt that she should please Tang Yue, otherwise if this matter really got out, whether the classmates believed it or not, it wouldn’t do her reputation any favors.
Her situation at school was already difficult enough, if there were any rumors of her going into groves with others, even if some students didn’t believe it was true, the way they looked at her would definitely change.
"Keep it for yourself." Tang Yue left without blinking an eye, not even taking a proper look at the buns she bought.
"No, Xiao Yue." Xu Zhenzhen anxiously looked at Tang Yue, admitting her mistakes in an attempt to appease: "Xiao Yue, I shouldn’t have said those things to you yesterday, I was wrong."
Xu Zhenzhen verbally admitted her mistake, but in reality, there wasn’t a hint of remorse in her eyes.
"You’re not wrong, how could you be wrong?" Tang Yue pursed her lips as she responded, walking towards the classroom.
"Xiao Yue, it’s all my fault, I made you angry." Xu Zhenzhen lowered her stance, several times wanting to flare up, but she forcefully held it in.
"Xiao Yue." Zhang Minmin waved at Tang Yue, dragging Zhang Tingyu quickly to the front of Tang Yue. She looked at Xu Zhenzhen with a face full of disdain and said, "Xu Zhenzhen, what are you doing here? You’re not welcome here."
"I...I just wanted to bring Xiao Yue breakfast," Xu Zhenzhen timely put on an innocent look, appearing pitiful and unaware, one might think Tang Yue was bullying Xu Zhenzhen.
"Come on, you’re like a weasel paying a New Year’s visit to a chicken," Zhang Minmin immediately exposed Xu Zhenzhen’s hypocritical face. Zhang Minmin was always straightforward and direct, never one for beating around the bush, she said irritably, "Stop pretending to be bullied, we didn’t bully you."
As she spoke, Zhang Minmin excitedly handed over something saying, "Sister Xiao Yue, look, I brought you a cake today. Look, this cream cake is really delicious."
Ever since the decision to do the advertisement was made, Zhang Minmin had become a little follower of Tang Yue and Zhang Tingyu, always remembering to share any tasty treats with them both.
"Great." Tang Yue graciously accepted the cake. Ever since her rebirth, she hadn’t eaten cake, and now looking at this cake, her eyes sparkled.
Cream cake, out of ten girls, probably nine would love it, and that tenth one probably avoids it just because they fear getting fat.
"Here’s a fork." Zhang Tingyu took out a fork and a small plate.
"That’s awesome, you guys really thought it through," Tang Yue praised them. The three formed a small circle, taking advantage of the half-hour before class to sit on a bench beside the greenery and dig in.
Xu Zhenzhen stood on the side, like an outsider, unable to squeeze in.
Smelling the rich aroma of the cream cake, Xu Zhenzhen stomped her foot and left in a huff.
"What’s with her, suddenly being all sweet?" Zhang Tingyu raised an eyebrow.
Perhaps, this ingratiating behavior shouldn’t be attributed to Xu Zhenzhen, but looking at what Xu Zhenzhen had done before, and what she just tried to do, it really seemed like an attempt to curry favor.
"Who knows." Tang Yue shrugged.
Zhang Minmin said, "She must have taken the wrong medicine!"
"Exactly." Tang Yue nodded in agreement.
Zhang Tingyu looked meaningfully at Tang Yue, seemingly understanding something, she asked, "Xu Zhenzhen’s reputation at school isn’t very good, did she do something that you saw?"
Tang Yue blinked her eyes but didn’t answer.
Zhang Minmin exaggeratively said, "What could be so frightening that she’s afraid Sister Xiao Yue would speak out?"
"Meow~" Just as Zhang Minmin was about to speak, Tang Yue covered her mouth, whispering in her ear, "Minmin, let’s not speak of such scandalous things."
"Mmm." Zhang Minmin nodded, indicating she wouldn’t gossip, but her excited eyes clearly revealed a strong desire for gossip.
After Zhang Minmin, the gossip lover, left, Zhang Tingyu asked, "Xiao Yue, are you really not going to speak out? She has harmed you several times."
"Such disgraceful acts, speaking of them would just dirty my mouth," Tang Yue scoffed. "Walk the night path too much, and you’re bound to encounter ghosts."
Zhang Tingyu chuckled, but didn’t continue the topic. Not being a gossipy person herself, she cared about this just to vent a bit for Tang Yue.
