Chapter 182: Chapter 182 Always Welcome

"Sure." Tang Yue agreed readily. Autumn had arrived, and the single-story house of their new home had almost been completed. She was very satisfied with the toilet. There weren’t many pieces of furniture in the house, but just having a place that completely belonged to her made Tang Yue feel content.

After a while, when the conditions at home improved, they would tear down the single-story house and build a new multi-story one. It would be just the same.

"Xiao Yue is really growing more and more remarkable, becoming prettier by the day." Tang Zhenghong sincerely praised when she saw Tang Yue. In the nearby area for miles around, there were hardly a few who could compare to Xiao Yue in terms of looks, especially in these two years when Tang Yue attended high school in the county; her clothing had become more fitting and accentuated her liveliness even more.

Just standing there, if it weren’t for having watched her grow up, Tang Zhenghong could hardly imagine that the Tang Yue in front of her had grown up in the countryside.

"Auntie Si." Tang Yue smiled sweetly and called out, "Uncle Si."

"Ah." Zhao Youwei chuckled honestly, then began moving things. This time they had borrowed a farm tractor from someone else to transport all the timber, which included that for both Tang Mingli’s and Tang Zhengde’s families.

Zhao Youwei said, "These are for Second Brother, and these are for Mingli."

It was just a few beds’ worth of timber. At home, he had already assembled them; they just needed to be transported to the county and set up.

"Youwei, this must have been tough for you." Tang Zhengde and Zhang Hualian moved their beds to the adjacent single-story house, which, after a fresh coat of white paint, didn’t look shabby at all. This time, they had made three beds at once.

At home, they dared not touch their beds. If they returned home during the new year and there were no beds, there would be no place to sleep. Moreover, the beds at home were quite old. So, Tang Zhengde gritted his teeth and decided to make three beds at once.

"Second Brother, it’s not tough at all." Zhao Youwei replied with a simple and honest smile. He had earned wages for these few beds too, albeit less than what others might charge, but it was certainly better than sitting at home bored.

Tang Mingli had only made two beds. Although there were more rooms, they started with two beds first and decided to leave the rest to be furnished over time.

The larger bed was placed upstairs and the other one downstairs.

Tang Yue first followed Tang Zhengde home to set up her own bed. The single-story house had three rooms, a kitchen, and an additional bathroom and toilet that they built. The front yard was the courtyard, and the backside was a vegetable garden. All three rooms had very good lighting.

The room, which had been empty before, felt different as soon as the bed was installed.

"Xiao Yue, I told your Uncle Si to add a desk for each of you and Xiao Jun in your rooms, so you can do your homework at home. Just modify the old timbers from home. Talk to your Uncle Si and see if there’s anything that needs to be changed," Tang Zhengde asked.

If they could use old timbers from home, then they should; even reprocessing these old timbers would be cheaper than buying new ones.

"Okay." Tang Yue had many ideas about this desk. She had drawn the design, discussed it with Uncle Si for a long time to make sure he understood it clearly, before asking, "Xiao Jun, how about you?"

"Big sis, I’ll have the same as you." Tang Jun grinned, showing off his even white teeth. Ever since studying in the county, Tang Jun smiled a lot more. After class, once he finished his homework, he began to wander around the county, and now he was no longer the Tang Jun who didn’t know his way around.

"Okay." Tang Yue nodded, asking their Uncle Si to make two sets for them.

...

"Xiao Yue, look, what kind of wardrobe should I make?" Tang Mingli looked at Tang Yue, puzzled. He asked, "What did you mean by an entire wall of wardrobe last time?"

Tang Yue explained in detail.

Tang Mingli turned to Tang Zhengde and asked, "Second Brother, did you make one?"

"No, we still use the old wardrobe at home," Tang Zhengde answered promptly. He and Zhang Hualian had already discussed this; anything that could be moved from their old house would be, and if it couldn’t, then they would make new ones.

Although they had earned some money over the past half year, they still needed to save where they could.

"Little Uncle, you are getting married. Wouldn’t it be nice to use new things?" Tang Yue said cheeringly, "Besides, didn’t grandma leave you timber for making a wardrobe? Just add a little more yourself, and it should be enough."

"What else should we make besides a wardrobe?" Tang Mingli asked. After thinking for a bit, looking at the brand-new room with the bed all set, and with the wardrobe to be done, they were only missing a table. He asked, "What kind of table would look nice?"

The desks in the office were all designed by Tang Yue. They were not only convenient and practical but also elegant.

"Vanity tables. They can be used as mirrors and also as tables," Tang Yue answered without hesitation.

Tang Mingli’s eyes lit up, and he instantly felt that it was a feasible idea.

"I can make them," Zhao Youwei said, scratching his head with a simple and honest look, making him very likeable.

"Alright, then Uncle Si, this job is yours. Of course, you wouldn’t charge us too much, right?" Tang Mingli said with a smile.

"Of course not," Zhao Youwei quickly said. "Mingli, don’t worry, I won’t charge you too much for the work."

"Okay," Tang Mingli agreed.

Tang Zhengyue, who had been quiet for a while, spoke up expectantly, "Mingli, it looks like you’re making good money working at the clothing factory. Your Eldest Sister here doesn’t have much to do at home, just taking care of the kids. Do you think there’s anything at the factory that I could do?"

Watching her once poorest Second Brother and Fifth Brother getting better and better, even buying houses in the county, made Tang Zhengyue extremely envious.

Even though Second Brother’s was just a single-story house, it was still located in the county town.

Not to mention how clean and freshly painted white walls of Second Brother’s house were, making it enviable no matter how you looked at it.

Tang Mingli’s small multi-story house was even more coveted by Tang Zhengyue.

Especially when it came to salaries, Tang Zhengyue had never stopped hearing about how profitable the Mingyue Clothing Factory was.

"If Eldest Sister is willing to work as a sewing machine operator, the factory always welcomes you," Tang Mingli said with a smile. Sewing machine operators were always needed, and if one of their own could do the job, he would not reject it.

"Sewing machine operator..." Tang Zhenghong drew out her question suggestively, "Mingli, your sister here has never even used a sewing machine. Is there anything else that she could do?"

Tang Mingli fell silent for a moment, then said, "Eldest Sister, in the factory, apart from being a sewing machine operator, the only other job is cutting, which requires a man to do. You, being a woman, wouldn’t be able to handle it."

"I’m not afraid of hard work," Tang Zhengyue quickly interjected.

Before Tang Mingli could reply, Tang Yue playfully said, "Eldest Aunt, you might not be afraid of hard work, but Uncle Si is worried about you working too hard."

"Uncle Si, am I right?" Tang Yue turned to ask Zhao Youwei beside her.

"Yes," Zhao Youwei replied, scratching his head sheepishly.
