Chapter 172: Chapter 172: Start of School (Second Update)
In the details of the negotiation, Tang Yue was speaking with Song Weimin.
Song Weimin noticed that Tang Yue’s negotiation skills were a bit naive, but she always stuck to her bottom line and principles. Once they were approached, she wouldn’t budge an inch.
This was reflected in the pricing as well.
Given time, when the young lady grows up, she might become even more formidable.
Song Weimin thought to himself while listening to her enumerate the prices and materials of the clothes. Glancing sideways, he saw her slender, fair neck, and her long black hair casually draped to one side, further highlighting her pale intricate skin. Her delicate features and beautiful almond-shaped eyes seemed as if they could speak.
"Boss Song, this piece of clothing can be worn in early autumn, and with a thicker coat over it, it’s perfect for deep autumn," Tang Yue said in a clear, melodic voice like a nightingale, pleasant to the ear. A light breeze carried over a whiff of her subtle fragrance as she leaned forward.
"Boss Song?" Tang Yue lifted her head in confusion, realizing Song Weimin was lost in thought.
"Ahem, go on," Song Weimin said in embarrassment, quickly refocusing.
Tang Mingli sat aside, carefully observing Song Weimin. He had been listening carefully to Tang Yue and hadn’t noticed Song Weimin’s discomfort. Now, watching carefully, he saw Song Weimin attentively listening to Tang Yue without any particular expression in his eyes.
After two days of discussions, all the contract details were finalized, including the orders for every design.
That very night, they took the train back home.
Having secured so many orders so smoothly, the factory could be maintained for quite a while. Both happy and excited, Tang Mingli couldn’t sleep that night and kept talking to Tang Yue.
As they talked, Tang Mingli’s eyes started to moisten.
Previously, when he took out a loan of US$ 100,000, Tang Mingli would worry himself sleepless every night.
After the factory opened, he then worried about not selling the clothes, which kept him up at nights again.
Latter, when the clothes did sell and he made US$ 90,000, Tang Mingli still couldn’t sleep, both excited and anxious. What if they sold this time but not the next?
Especially with the factory producing clothes daily—if they couldn’t sell and the clothes piled up in the warehouse, that was money sitting there!!!
Now, at last, things were looking up.
Tang Mingli could finally sleep peacefully. Although he spent nearly all the US$ 90,000 on fabric, leaving just a little for cash flow, and was again without money, he felt elated. As long as the clothes were made and shipped to Shenzhen, it meant money.
Since Tang Yue and Tang Mingli left for Shenzhen, Tang Zhengde and Zhang Hualian had been worrying and couldn’t sleep at night.
On September 1st, in the afternoon, Tang Yue returned to Wangjiang County.
Zhang Hualian finally let out a sigh of relief. Tang Yue asked, "Mom, has Xiao Jun registered for school?"
"He did, in the high school near us," Zhang Hualian said with tender concern, "Xiao Yue, how was it? Was this trip successful?"
"It went well." Tang Yue took a sip of water and then hurriedly rushed to the school to register.
"Xiao Yue." Zhang Tingyu hadn’t seen Tang Yue that morning, so she specifically went to the Tang Family to inquire. Knowing that Tang Yue would come to register in the afternoon, Zhang Tingyu waited at the door. Seeing Tang Yue now, she quickly approached and asked, "Xiao Yue, I heard you went to Shenzhen?"
"Yeah, I went with my little uncle; he had something to do." Tang Yue replied and asked, "What about you? Haven’t you registered either?"
Tang Yue had only been at home for no more than fifteen minutes, dropped off her things, briefly talked about her trip to Shenzhen, and then rushed over to enroll.
"I did register. Didn’t your mom tell you I was looking for you?" Zhang Tingyu asked with confusion.
Tang Yue looked at Zhang Tingyu blankly.
Zhang Tingyu smiled, decided not to bring up the misunderstanding, and changed the subject, "Xiao Yue, here’s the thing, I wanted to ask you something."
"Go ahead," said Tang Yue.
"I want to board at school this term," said Zhang Tingyu very seriously.
"Why?" Tang Yue asked in response, "Your home is so close to the school."
During Senior High School, Tang Yue and Zhang Tingyu had been acquainted for a year, and had visited each other’s homes many times.
"It’s now second year. I don’t want to waste time going home for meals," shrugged Zhang Tingyu, linking arms with Tang Yue. "Xiao Yue, think about it, the two of us in the same dormitory, how nice would that be to have each other’s company?"
"Are you sure you’ll adjust to living there?" Tang Yue asked, uncertain.
Indeed, staying at school can save a lot of time. However, school meals are obviously not as good as those at home. Additionally, the school beds are small and one has to share a dormitory room with ten others which can be very chaotic and disordered.
"Cough." Zhang Tingyu whispered to Tang Yue, "Actually, my mom got transferred to our school as a teacher today, and she was assigned a two-room apartment. She isn’t living there, and I was thinking, we could each have our own room, which would be good for studying together, yet still have our own private space. What do you think?"
After confirming this with her mother, Zhang Tingyu had been waiting for Tang Yue to return, eager to discuss this.
"Well, that doesn’t sound too good." Tang Yue knew that the school provided teacher’s apartments and with a two-room setup, having one room each would be quite nice. They’d have a quiet study environment and could easily share knowledge with each other, which would be very convenient.
"Xiao Yue, my mom said it would be nice for us to live together for companionship, and she really likes you," Zhang Tingyu said, persuading her.
Tang Yue considered and said, "Then the cost of my accommodation..."
"No, no, no, you must not pay me for accommodation. The apartment school allocated for my mom is free of charge." Zhang Tingyu really liked being with Tang Yue and thought of her the moment this opportunity came up.
Zhang Minmin was also enthusiastic about moving in, but Zhang Tingyu shut her down, saying, "You can live with me, but from Monday to Friday, no going out to play. In the dormitory, you can only study."
Upon hearing this, Zhang Minmin immediately gave up the idea. It was better to live at home where she could munch on snacks and hang out around the school after class.
Living with Zhang Tingyu would mean facing homework every day, an unbearable prospect.
"Okay, but Tingyu, we need to agree first. My parents often send over vegetables; you can’t refuse them," Tang Yue reminded her.
"Alright," Zhang Tingyu smiled and nodded.
It wasn’t until after school started that Zhang Tingyu learned that Tang Yue’s "often sending vegetables" really meant every single evening. Rather than losing weight living at school, she became even more robust and put on some weight around her once slender frame, much to everyone’s surprise.
For this, Mrs. Zhang made a special trip to express her thanks to the Tang Family.
