Chapter 444: Booming Business
Chapter 444: Chapter 444: Booming Business
In the end, she thought it over and ultimately didn’t buy it because it was really too expensive.
"Customers left," Zhang Lulu pouted, "Sigh, we haven’t sold many pieces today. And, this outfit is so beautiful, it’s such a pity not to buy it." She had just hung up the clothing when another young woman took an interest in it. Zhang Lulu enthusiastically took down the outfit and let her try it on.
When the young woman came out, she looked in the mirror for a long time, and surprisingly, there seemed to be something astonishing in her eyes.
It seems that the outfit had caught her eye.
"How much is this one?" asked the young woman as she took off the clothing.
"320 yuan."
Zhang Lulu spoke with a smile, remembering all the words Qin Xiangnuan had taught her, "This outfit is handmade. You can’t find a second piece like this in the whole Jingdu City. It’s one of a kind, with no repeats."
The woman tried on the outfit again and felt very satisfied, not sure if she was satisfied with the look on her or the uniqueness described by Zhang Lulu. She promptly paid for it, and soon after, the first woman who had tried on clothes came back.
She came to look for the outfit but couldn’t find it after searching for a while.
"Where’s the outfit I was looking at just now?" she asked Zhang Lulu.
Zhang Lulu remembered the person because the clothes in the store were expensive. As Qin Xiangnuan said, they did not aim to sell many each day. Usually, selling one piece could sustain them for half a month; indeed, selling one could usually suffice for half a month’s expenses, especially during holidays when they sold even more.
Although they sold more, compared to other stores that sold in volume, it was still less. Hence, Zhang Lulu could recall which specific outfit this woman was referring to.
"Sorry, that one’s already been sold," said Zhang Lulu apologetically. The woman was just a step too late; the outfit had already been purchased.
"It’s sold?" The woman was slightly disappointed. How could it be that just within a short while she stepped out, the outfit she liked had been bought by someone else? She even specifically withdrew money from the bank just for this outfit.
"Is there another one just like it?" She asked, not giving up yet.
Zhang Lulu shook her head, "I’m really sorry, but our store only has unique, one-of-a-kind items. There really isn’t another," she had made it clear initially, there was only one piece in each color in the store. If it was sold, then one had to choose another model.
The woman had no choice but sadly reconciled with the fact. However, she hesitated, and finally bought another piece. It looked good on her too, but it was fifty yuan more expensive than the previous one. Even though it cost fifty yuan more, it was not very pleasant; there was nothing she could do. That’s just how it is when buying clothes from Cafe, you have to make your move quickly, or someone else will take the outfit you want.
As the woman paid for the outfit, another customer came in, quite young and also very pretty, and certainly dressed very fashionably.
"I want the complete outfit outside," the woman directly pointed at the outfit the model was wearing.
Zhang Lulu happily went to fetch the clothing. For this outfit, the top cost 580 yuan, the sweater 123 yuan, the skirt 369 yuan, and shoes over 200 yuan, the whole set costing over a thousand yuan. This must be a big spender!
Indeed, in a while Zhang Lulu saw the money in the drawer, her eyes nearly turning into gold ingots, the entire outfit was sold! The whole set sold for over a thousand yuan, her bonus, her commission, just this set alone nearly netted her a hundred yuan.
It just doesn’t look good on the mannequin without clothing.
She hastily grabbed a piece of clothing to dress the mannequin. Lacking much artistic flair, the outfits she paired often seemed somewhat odd. The store’s business depended a lot on the few sets of clothes displayed outside; people got an immediate impression of attractiveness because they were worn by the models. Every time the boss paired the outfits, they were the first sets to sell.
Even though the clothes were expensive, there were many wealthy people in Jingdu. As the capital and the economic heart of the nation, they used to believe, and now they truly believed, that there are indeed many rich people in Jingdu. The daily revenue of their store is frighteningly high.
"Hello, boss? It’s Lulu. The outfit on the mannequin outside was sold. You need to come and match another set."
"Okay, I know. I’ll come over soon," Qin Xiangnuan put her phone aside, preparing to head to the store.
All clothes in the store were clearly priced. There was no chance of someone profiting secretly as long as the number of clothes was as accounted for, and the accounts checked out. She didn’t need to be at the store every day, since Jian Zhiqing had installed surveillance there. She was responsible for making the clothes, then bringing them to the store to sell. Her days were quite leisurely; most of the clothes were made using the time difference system and she was also planning to set up a small factory to produce some parts, which could save quite a bit of time.
The location could just be in the small four courtyard; buying a few machines and hiring some skilled sewing machinists.
And in one month, the clothing store had made quite a bit of profit, over twenty thousand yuan. Qin Xiangnuan was startled by the number; selling for a few more months might even recoup the cost of buying the store.
She still loved this lifestyle; selling the clothes she designed herself. The more people who bought them, the more she could dominate the fashion scene across all of Jingdu because she made the clothes herself. She had applied for patents regarding the branding; thus, Cafe Women’s Wear was a brand, a domestic brand. She couldn’t stop piracy, but her clothes had something nobody else could imitate: they were hand-stitched by her personally. Even if there were copies, they would never be Cafe Women’s Wear.
She aimed to get her brand out there, Jingdu was the first location. For other locations, she was still waiting for the opportunity.
Near the New Year, Jingdu’s color palette diversified quite a bit. People’s attire had changed significantly; those walking on the streets started dressing more diversely, conservative calm styles were there, and strangely shaped ones too. However, the overall trend of dress had started to follow a certain pattern, sporting sweaters on top with pants or long skirts below, a trend that started from Cafe Women’s Wear.
Now, everyone was saying a phrase:
Smoke famous cigarettes, drink renowned tea, eat at Qinghuayuan hotpot, drink Wangliang...
